The incident reportedly occurred in Phase 1 of Electronics City on July 21, when a group of runners from a club called 'Run & Rave' were asked to leave the area by two policemen. One of the runners, an Instagram user named Yang, posted a video of the encounter, questioning the legality of running on public roads. 'Is running illegal in India?' Yang asked in his caption. 'Me along with friends were running in Electronics City Phase 1 and this is what happened.'
The footage shows two uniformed policemen approaching the runners, asking them to disperse. In one clip, a policeman is seen confronting a woman and demanding she leave the area. 'Why are you still here when I told you to leave?' the officer is heard saying.
While initial reactions on social media suggested that the incident may have stemmed from a language barrier, Yang later clarified that the issue was far more serious. 'This is not about language,' he said in a follow-up post. 'It's about how the cop behaved. He said things like 'I will beat you' and 'I will kill you'—that's not acceptable.' Yang also acknowledged a CISF personnel who stepped in to defuse the situation and help the runners.

Despite the confrontation, Yang made it clear that the group would not be discouraged. 'After everything that happened last week, we just want to say one thing, we're not stopping. This Sunday, July 27, Run & Rave is back, with more energy, more community, and more good vibes,' he said. 'We're not here to fight. We're here to move. To run together. To build something positive. If you've ever felt the joy of a morning run, this is your cue.'
The videos quickly gained traction on social media, with users expressing concern over the police's behaviour. Several demanded accountability, urging the runners to file formal complaints under criminal intimidation laws if the officers were not part of the official police force.
However, the episode also drew criticism from some commuters, who alleged that the runners were blocking roads and causing inconvenience. One commenter wrote, 'If they're private guards and this happens again, file an FIR and press charges under BNS 141 for criminal intimidation.'

Mumbai: A 25-year-old woman in Mumbai was allegedly harassed by a loan app firm and her morphed nude photographs were shared with her relatives and friends, even as she handed over an amount of money that was more than what she borrowed. According to the police, the victim from Kranti Nagar area in Jogeshwari West said she was in need of money when she came across an advertisement of a mobile app called "Cash Loan" on Instagram. On July 20, she downloaded the app and shared all her personal information and details pertaining to her Aadhaar card and bank account as part of the formalities. The woman, the police added, applied for a loan of Rs 2,000 but received only Rs 1,300 for a period of six days. However, even before the loan period could end, the woman allegedly started receiving threats from a person who introduced himself as an employee of the loan firm. The caller, she told the police, threatened to share obscene photos of her on social media if she did not immediately return the money. Out of fear, the woman sent Rs 1,000 twice to a person named "Sandesh Kumar" via a payment app. However, an hour later, the woman's aunt called her to inform her that she had received a morphed nude photograph of the woman on WhatsApp by an unknown sender. Within minutes, the same photograph was allegedly shared with two of the woman's friends from the same number. Not knowing what to do, the woman approached her father, who then approached the police for help. The accused allegedly threatened to tarnish the woman's reputation, the police said, citing the victim's complaint. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered and a probe is underway.

But things soon took dramatic turn, even before the loan term expired, a person claiming to be an employee of the loan firm allegedly began to threaten her. According to the Mumbai woman's complaint cited by the news channel, the caller warned her that her obscene photographs would be leaked online if she didn't repay the loan immediately. Victim paid, yet explicit images sent to contacts In response to the threats, the woman transferred ₹1,000 twice via a payment application to a person identified as Sandesh Kumar. However, despite the payments, she received a distressing call from her aunt an hour later, reported NDTV. The aunt had received a morphed nude image of the woman on WhatsApp from an unknown number. The same photo was subsequently sent to two of the woman's friends from the same sender. Frightened and unsure of how to respond, the woman informed her father, who then approached local police for help. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered in the case, and an investigation is currently underway. Authorities have not confirmed whether any arrests have been made at this stage.
