Former ‘Summer House' Star Lexi Wood Dishes on Drake Dating Rumors

Cosmopolitan22-07-2025
Former Bravolebrity Lexi Wood is getting real about her dating history. During an appearance on Gia Guidice's Casual Chaos podcast, Lexi was asked about romance rumors with rapper Drake. Yes, the one known for hits like 'Headlines' and 'Hotline Bling.'
'I need to know, are any of the Drake rumors true? I feel like they have to be. You're from Canada and you're so hot,' Gia, aka the daughter of Real Housewives of New Jersey star Theresa Giudice, asked Lexi during the July 21 episode.
The model and influencer, who joined Summer House for only one season last year, explained that any chatter about her dating the five-time Grammy winner has only come from other people.
'I think that being even put out there by anyone but me and him was insane. It definitely was not that person's place to say anything,' Lexi said. 'But I will say, he's amazing and I'm really lucky to know him, and he is so talented, so sweet, comes from such a great family, has great friends.'
The clarification comes after Lexi's ex, Jesse Solomon, alluded to her alleged past relationship with the rapper during an interview on the Chicks in the Office podcast, when he said, 'When you're going for a girl that's dated Drake, you're not going to, like, get her by playing it cool.'
'I was just sent it a billion times, and I was like, 'First of all, why would you say that? Why would you say something about my…' Lexi said of his comment. 'I think like everything that you enter, whether it's a friendship, relationship, whatever, there's just like you're figuring it out, like, you're not going to go and post it all over.'
She added, 'I just felt like it was very distasteful.'
Dating rumors between Lexi and Drake are not entirely far-fetched as they both hail from Toronto and Lexi has reportedly had a string of famous exes. She was romantically linked to Brooklyn Beckham in April 2018. In November 2022, she sparked engagement rumors with Kaia Gerber's older brother, Presley Gerber, before they called it quits the following month.
The Summer House alum previously dispelled rumors with the 'NOKIA' rapper during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in January.
When asked about the timeline of her reported fling, Lexi awkwardly laughed it off before sipping her drink and saying, 'Can I, like, take a sip and pass this one or something?'
Well, that's that on that.

Chappell Roan Gives Second Album Update: 'There Is No Album'

Chappell Roan may be counting down all of the days 'til you're just another girl on the if you're counting down the days until she drops a new album, you might have to rethink your strategy. In a new interview celebrating the release of her newest single, 'Subway,' Chappell gave an update on her second album—and it's not exactly encouraging. 'The second project doesn't exist yet,' Chappell recently told Vogue. 'There is no album. There is no collection of songs.' So, that's a definite no on a new album, and a likely no on any hopes of a mixtape or EP to tide us over. I think I speak for all Chappell fans when I say, we're not mad, we're just disappointed for our playlists. Though, we really shouldn't be, because the Grammy winner has plenty of very good reasons for taking her time. Her debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess was only released two years ago, and she's essentially been performing it and promoting it ever since. Yes, she's dropped a few songs in the last year or so—'Good Luck, Babe!,' 'The Giver,' and now 'The Subway'—but three singles does not a new album make. You know what does make an album, according to Chappell? Time. 'It took me five years to write the first one, and it's probably going to take at least five to write the next. I'm not that type of writer that can pump it out,' she told Vogue. As for all the fans begging her to get back in the studio, Chappell says she's seen the memes, but you should know, it doesn't help much. 'I don't think I make good music whenever I force myself to do anything,' she said. 'I see some comments sometimes, like, 'She's everywhere except that damn studio.' Even if I was in the studio 12 hours a day, every single day, that does not mean that you would get an album any faster.' Oh, and you also shouldn't expect a lot of updates on how that second album is coming along, either. 'The album process is purely, only mine,' she told the mag. 'No one on TikTok gets to see it.'

As Trump eyes Diddy pardon, a look back at hip-hop's complicated past with the president

Since President Donald Trump's rise as a businessman and political figure, he has been a subject of fascination in hip-hop culture. Rap music, with its braggadocious fixation on financial success, has named-dropped the billionaire CEO on dozens of occasions. He has been highly revered as a symbol of success, going as far back as Wu-Tang Clan's Raekwon in his 1995 record "Incarcerated Scarfaces," in which he calls himself the "Black Trump." But after the 2016 election, the messaging about Trump − from gangsta rap artists like YG to lyricists like Kendrick Lamar − has largely turned from heralding to scorn. That's not to say all of hip-hop has turned its back on the president, especially when a pardon for disgraced music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs is on the table. Trump has publicly discussed the possibility of issuing a presidential pardon to Combs, who was found guilty in July on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution following a landmark sex-trafficking trial in Manhattan court. Despite repeated attempts at bail, the Grammy-winning rapper has been incarcerated at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center since his arrest on Sept. 16, 2024. During an Aug. 1 interview on Newsmax, the president spoke about potential pardons for Combs, convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell and former Rep. George Santos. When asked directly about pardoning Combs by host Rob Finnerty, Trump kept mum on confirming his release but said that negative comments that Combs previously made about him would make it "more difficult." Here's a look at the biggest rap songs that have mentioned Trump. Mac Miller's 'Donald Trump' and Rae Sremmurd's 'Up Like Trump' One of Mac Miller's first hit records, the 2011 platinum-selling track "Donald Trump," found the Pittsburgh native rapping about wanting global dominance, like the real estate mogul: "Take over the world when I'm on my Donald Trump ..." But five years later, Miller distanced himself from Trump. In one notable appearance on "Nightly With Larry Wilmore," Miller said he hated the then-presidential candidate. "I think for a while, I was like, 'Donald Trump is gonna end up being the president. Ha ha ha!' And the more I say that, the closer he gets, so I think it's really important for everyone to not take this as a joke," the late rapper told Billboard in September 2016. "This (man) could possibly be the president of the United States, and that's terrifying, that's horrible. Especially at a time like this when our country needs to move forward." Another Trump-centric record asserting financial dominance, hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd released "Up Like Trump" in 2015. At the time, one half of the group, Swae Lee, told Complex that Trump was "cool" and "rich." YG's 'FDT' Eight months before Trump's 2016 election victory, YG released one of the biggest records in admonition against the Republican candidate, "FDT" featuring fellow California rapper Nipsey Hussle (the DT for Trump's initials, the F for the pejorative exclamation). A rhythmic take-down, YG gets straight into it. "Just when I thought it wouldn't get no sicker, woke up one morning and heard this weird ... talkin' out the side of his neck," the Compton native starts in the intro. YG brings out Trump impersonator at Rolling Loud, curses him out "Me and all my peoples, we always thought he was straight influential ... when it came to the business. But now, since we know how you really feel, this how we feel," he adds before getting into the chorus, which simply repeats the song's title over and over. He later raps that he hates Trump and that if he wins the election, he's going to "crash us," while Hussle raps that Trump "spent his trust fund money on the vote." Kendrick Lamar's 'Determined,' 'Lust' and 'The Heart Part 4' An early career record from Lamar, 2009's "Determined," mentions Trump in a positive light: "I don't wanna be a dealer, I wanna be a Trump / Donald, that is." However, since the president's political rise, Lamar has mentioned Trump explicitly in much of his music. Two months after Trump's 2017 inauguration, Lamar released "The Heart Part 4," rapping: "Donald Trump is a chump / Know how we feel, punk – tell him that God comin' / And Russia need a replay button, y'all up to somethin'." And in "Lust," from his 2017 Pulitzer Prize-winning album "Damn," Lamar again references the election. "We all woke up, tryna tune to the daily news / Looking for confirmation, hoping election wasn't true / All of us worried, all of us buried, in our feelings deep / None of us married to his proposal, make us feel cheap / Stale and sad, distraught and mad, tell the neighbor 'bout it / Bet they agree, parade the streets with your voice proudly." Taylor Swift's Album Enjoys A Summertime Chart Revival

Taylor Swift's album Folklore doesn't need an excuse to rise on Billboard's charts. The once-surprise release remains not just one of the singer's most critically-acclaimed projects, but also a fan favorite among millions of Swifties. Folklore regularly appears on a number of tallies in the United States, and this frame is a fruitful one for the indie-leaning studio effort, which stands out from her discography for all the right reasons. Folklore Is One of Eight Swift Albums Charting This Week The Grammy-winning Album of the Year is the only title from Swift to rise on any ranking in the U.S. this week, and it manages to climb on each list on which it appears. Folklore lifts to No. 6 on the Top Alternative Albums chart, No. 14 on the Top Rock & Alternative Albums ranking, and to No. 61 on the Billboard 200. The set earns the greatest gain on that latter tally, where it improves by seven spots. Consumption of Taylor Swift's Folklore Grows Consumption of Folklore increased by just under 5% from one week to the next, which helps to explain its rise in the U.S. According to Luminate, the album moved just under 14,600 equivalent units between sales and streaming activity, up from 13,950 during the previous period. 'August' Fuels Swift's Return to the Spotlight Folklore has been back in the news recently, as it became Swift's latest album to reach half a decade on the Billboard 200. The title may have received a boost thanks to the renewed attention, or perhaps because the end of summer holds a special meaning for the project. Folklore includes the track 'August,' so streams and sales of that cut, which contribute to the success of the full-length, tend to grow toward the end of July and certainly as August begins. With August Here, Folklore Could Climb Again There's a good chance that since August 1 marks the beginning of a new tracking period, Folklore could climb again in a few days when Billboard publishes updated rankings. It may even rise once more as millions of fans return to 'August' and, in some instances, Folklore as a whole to honor that standout track.
