‘Superstore' actor Jon Miyahara dead at 83
Actor Jon Miyahara, best known for the sitcom 'Superstore,' has died at 83. His death was announced by fellow 'Superstore' cast member Colton Dunn in an Instagram post on Thursday. Starring Ferrera and Feldman, the show followed employees at the fictional big box store, Cloud 9. Miyahara was in 105 out of the series' 113 episodes, playing Brett, an older employee who was mostly silent. Despite barely having any lines, he stole scenes with Brett's excellence at his job. In Season 2, everyone thought Brett died in a tornado, and they even held a memorial for him. (He said one of his only lines, 'Oh sh-t,' during the tornado incident). Sporting his signature hat and leather jacket combo, the 52-year-old showed up to the sold-out screening at The Rooftop at Pier 17. But before the movie started, Eminem (whose real name is Marshall Mathers) took a moment to thank his fans for supporting him over the last two decades. After all, the film—which released in theaters on August 7—sees his biggest 'stans' detailing how his music impacted their lives. 'This film was a thank you to all of you,' he told the audience, per a fan TikTok video. 'This is my thank you to all of you for sticking by me the entire f--king time. It's no secret that America is the butt of many jokes. People love to make fun of our huge portion sizes, our heavy reliance on cars, our politicians (fair), our desire to fry anything and everything, and, among many more things, our lack of free healthcare (also fair). But even though it's so easy to hate on America, what are some things you actually like about American culture? Maybe Maybe you love the sports culture in America: tailgates, Super Bowl parties, foam fingers, nights at the baseball field, and fantasy football. Maybe you love the diversity and how easy and accessible it is to experience different cultures and try different foods.
