Gracie Abrams Has the Ultimate Compliment for Taylor Swift During Concert Tour originally appeared on Parade.
For the past year, Gracie Abrams has been on her The Secret Of Us Tour to support her sophomore album with the same name.
The 25-year-old singer shared a heartfelt message with her Boston fans during Wednesday night's show. Early in her concert at TD Garden, Abrams read a deeply personal letter from her journal to mark the opening night of the final leg of her tour.
"Between touring and my last few EPs and albums, the amazing festivals and opening for the brilliant Olivia [Rodrigo] and for our forever genius Taylor [Swift], it has been a very wild and lucky four years on the road," Abrams said, before the crowd erupted into cheers. "We are in the home stretch now and I just want to pause for a moment to let you know that we could not be happier or more grateful to be here with all of you tonight."
Though The Secret of Us Tour started in September 2024, Abrams has been on the road for almost four years straight. After her debut tour, I've missed you, I'm sorryTour in September-October 2021 and the This Is What It Feels Like Tour six months later, she quickly followed it up by opening for the first half of Rodrigo's SOUR Tour in April 2022. A year later, she embarked on her Good Riddance Tour to support her first studio album with the same name. Plus, the singer opened for multiple shows during Swift's Eras Tour from early 2023 to November 2024, in between her headlining tour legs.
Last month, Abrams went back to Europe to make up shows she missed in February due to illness, before embarking on a European festival tour throughout late June and early July. Now for the next two weeks, the "Close To You" singer will be touring around North America.
It is well-known that Abrams has been a huge fan and one of Swift's close friends. The Grammy-nominated singer has spoken highly about Swift multiple times throughout her career and serves as a major influence on her songwriting.
Other than featuring her as an opener on the Eras Tour, Swift has also supported Abrams multiple times. The two even have a collaboration together called "us", which is the fifth track of Abrams' album The Secret of Us and was nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance in the 2025 Grammy Awards.
Abrams will continue her second North American leg of The Secret of Us Tour, with her next show this Saturday at the Budweiser Stage in Toronto.

Tony Hadley dismisses the prospect of a Spandau Ballet reunion

Tony Hadley doubts that a Spandau Ballet reunion would work. The 65-year-old singer quit as lead singer of the True band in 2017 due to "circumstances beyond my control" and was surprised to hear his ex-bandmate Gary Kemp suggest earlier this year that he would like to do another tour. Tony told Classic Pop magazine: "Really? That's news to me. "I don't think it would work. I haven't seen Gary, Martin (Kemp) or John (Keeble) in eight years. Steve (Norman) is the only one I'm vaguely in contact with. "We had some good times, but unfortunately there were some bad times as well. That's just life. We had some good laughs on the last tour, then unfortunately John fell ill and it wasn't the same without him. That was difficult." Tony doesn't want animosity amongst his former Spandau Ballet bandmates but is happy to be focusing on his solo career now. He said: "I wish Gary, Martin and John well, but I'm happy doing what I'm doing. I love the freedom I have now, the fact I can go from a bit of swing to a bit of rock. You can't do that within the confines of a band." Spandau Ballet had a huge hit with Gold in 1983 and Tony believes that the track continues to be popular as it is easy for people to sing along to. He explained: "You can't fail with Gold. There are times I get distracted singing it. I will suddenly come to and think: 'God, what's the second verse?' I get round it by going: 'Right, you lot can sing it...' However, Tony is still baffled that the band chose not to perform the song during their set at Live Aid in 1985. The singer said: "My one issue with Gold is, why didn't we play it at Live Aid? I think it's because we didn't think we could reproduce the orchestral touches at Wembley. Whatever, it didn't make any sense to me why we didn't do it." Hadley has been involved in music for over 40 years and believes that his distinctive voice has been pivotal to his success. He explained: "I've always had a big voice and it's always sounded like me. That gives me an identity, whether you like my voice or not. "My influences are all brilliant voices, but I'm not interested in technicality. Loads of singers can do more vocal twiddles than me and are technically better, but that's not what I'm interested in."

Awesome JAWS Poster Art From Artist Tyler Stout Pays Tribute To Quint — GeekTyrant

I had to share this great Jaws print with you that was created by artist Tyler Stout. This was a limited edition Comic-Con exclusive of only 150 prints. They sold out at the event, but I managed to score one, and this is a beautiful peice! The poster was created for CODA Gallery. Quint, the rugged shark hunter from, is one of the most unforgettable characters in cinematic history. Played masterfully by Robert Shaw, Quint is the epitome of grit and resilience, an old-school seaman with a weathered exterior and a deep-rooted trauma that fuels his obsession. What makes Quint such a powerful character isn't just his fearlessness or bravado, but the depth of his past, especially the haunting USS Indianapolis monologue that reveals the true horror he's lived through. He's not just a shark hunter; he's a man shaped by survival, driven by vengeance, and unwilling to back down. His intensity, gruff charm, and unwavering determination make him a compelling force in the story and the emotional anchor of the film's tension.
