Squid Game Season 3: Netflix shares 6-minute ‘sneak-peek' hours before release of ‘the beginning of the end'
Hours before the highly anticipated show finale of Squid Game, Netflix has released a 'sneak peek' into Season 3 of the Korean drama, sharing with fans a glimpse of the first six minutes of 'the beginning of the end'.
Squid Game is Netflix's number one non-English language series of all time.
In a six-minute clip shared by Netflix Tudum, the surviving Squid Game contestants receive a gift-box coffin of their own, Gi-hun, played by Lee Jae.
Gi-hun was last seen leading the failed rebellion of Season 2.
The clip showed the Pink Guards delivering Gi-hun back to the Squid Game dormitory inside one of the coffins usually used for eliminated players.
However, the twist in the tale is that Gi-hun is alive.
Talking to Tudum, Lee Jae said Gi-hun has many obstacles ahead of him in Season 3.
While he described the feeling of returning to the competition as 'being sucked into a different universe,' Lee said, 'When the coffin is opened, Gi-hun is reborn.'
'He has to go back to the competition, play the game again, and make choices again,' he added.
Squid Game's third and final season will release globally on Friday, 27 June 2025.
A failed rebellion, the death of a friend, and a secret betrayal — Squid Game Season 3 picks up in the aftermath of Season 2's bloody cliffhanger. Although Gi-hun is at his lowest point yet, the Squid Game stops for no one.
According to Netflix Tudum, Gi-hun will be forced to make some important choices in the face of overwhelming despair as he and the surviving players are thrust into deadlier games that test everyone's resolve.
With each round, their choices lead to increasingly grave consequences.
Meanwhile, In-ho resumes his role as Front Man to welcome the mysterious VIPs, and his brother Jun-ho continues his search for the elusive island, unaware there's a traitor in their midst.

Hindi song composed for the Dalai Lama's 90th b'day
A Hindi song composed by Mumbai-based Som Dasgupta will be sung by Bollywood singer Mohit Chauhan on the occasion of the Dalai Lama's 90th birthday on July 6 in Mcleodganj, Dharamshala. Dasgupta wrote the song following a request made by the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts (TIPA), a cultural body that functions under the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA). Dasgupta told TOI that there are also English and Tibetan versions of the song. "I am feeling blessed. The 90th birthday of the Dalai Lama is a great occasion. I sent the song to Mohit Chauhan and he likes it. Musician and singer Bidisha Sen will also sing along with Chauhan," he said. Dasgupta is currently in Mcleodganj to teach 400 students of TIPA the song, on the latter's request. "They will sing in chorus on the Tibetan spiritual leader's birthday in Mcleodganj," he added.

Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk reveals details about Squid Game Season 3: ‘It's not always a happy ending'
The world of Squid Game is no stranger to despair — and as the Netflix series approaches its third and final season, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk makes it clear: this one won't offer any emotional reprieve. 'The tone is going to be more dark and bleak,' he says. 'The world, as I observe it, has less hope.' Squid Games Premiering on June 27, Squid Game season 3 is already stirring anticipation and anxiety in equal measure. Fans who've followed the show from its blood-splattered beginnings might be hoping for redemption or even a glimmer of hope, but Hwang says that would go against the story's DNA. 'People like a happy ending. I'm like that too. But some stories, by nature, can't have one. If you try to force one, the essence is compromised. If a story is holding up a mirror to something, then it's not always a happy ending. Squid Game is no exception.' With new characters, new games, and moral ambiguity dialled all the way up, the final season promises to be as gut-wrenching and thought-provoking as ever. 'I wanted to explore questions like, 'What is the very last resort of humankind? And do we have the will to give future generations something better?'' says Hwang. 'After watching all three seasons, I hope we can each ask ourselves, 'How much humanity do I have left in me?'' Though some fans were critical of season two's pace and choices, the production timeline didn't allow creator Lee Jung-jae to adjust things mid-way. 'The two seasons were filmed back to back,' he explains. 'Instead of 'fixing' the narrative, we just wanted to make sure the message was conveyed.' That message, of violence, desperation, and what capitalism can reduce people to, remains the series' spine, even as it grows more complex. 'The finale was something even I didn't expect,' Lee teases. 'So I'm sure a lot of fans will not see it coming. I think a lot of people will have different reactions. It's definitely going to spur a lot of conversation.' Until then, fans hoping for spoilers will have to wait. 'People have been so curious. A lot of them come to me asking for spoilers,' Lee adds. 'I keep telling them that if you want to have fun watching season three, you just have to hold still. It's coming.'
