SWSC wins 28 medals UAE Women's Athletics Cup

There were exciting competitions in three age groups: Under 13, Under 16, and Under 19. Sharjah Club stood out by winning both the U13 Cup and the U16 Cup, showcasing an impressive performance that earned them a total of 28 medals: 10 gold, 8 silver, and 10 bronze.
New record in the U13 division
Sarah Fahad had an outstanding performance, winning two gold medals in the under-13 category by finishing first in both the 200-meter hurdles and the 300-meter race. In the 200-meter hurdles, Rawda Al-Jaberi took home a silver medal, while Maria Fahad earned a bronze. Alia Khaled Saeed also shined, winning gold in the 80-meter race and silver in the 300-meter race. Fawaghi Hamid secured a bronze medal in the 300-meter event as well.
In the jumping events, Samar Saleh excelled, winning gold medals in both the long jump and high jump. Reem Youssef followed with a silver medal in the high jump. In the throwing competitions, Hanan Ibrahim dominated by winning gold in both the shot put and discus throw. Maryam Issa added to the excitement by winning a bronze medal in the discus throw. Maitha Juma and Ahed Mohammed performed well, earning silver and bronze medals in shot put, respectively, while Alyazia Tariq Juma completed the throwing events with a bronze medal in the hammer throw.
Ongoing successes in the U16 division
The athletes from the club showcased their outstanding talent in the Under-16 division, with Reem Youssef taking home two gold medals in the 100-meter hurdles and the 400-meter race. Khadija Mohammed also made her mark by winning a bronze medal in the 100-meter race.
In the jumping events, Suad Al Jallaf earned a bronze medal in the long jump and a silver medal in the high jump. Nada Nasr also impressed by winning a bronze medal in the same high jump event. When it came to throwing competitions, Raya Moamen struck gold in the shot put and won silver in the discus throw. Her teammate, Maryam Murad, secured a silver medal in the shot put and a bronze in the discus, while Alyazia Tariq Abdul Salam grabbed a bronze in the shot put. Additionally, Sheikha Fahad Al Mazmi received silver in the hammer throw.
Hind Al Kabawi, the Technical Director of Athletics at the Sharjah Women's Sports Club, praised the athletes for their amazing performance during the tournament. She highlighted that their results are a testament to their dedication and teamwork. "The players have once again shown their exceptional skills, earning both the U13 and U16 Cups, which reflects our team's ongoing success and improvement," she said.
Al Kabawi further emphasized that their achievements result from the combined efforts of both the coaching and support staff, demonstrating the club's commitment to promoting women's sports in the country.

Recognition and individual awards Sharjah Club also received the Excellence Award from the UAE Taekwondo Federation in recognition of its role in hosting international training camps and organising championships. The club was further honoured with the Outstanding Partner Award. In individual honours, Sharjah received the award for Best Coach of the Season, and its athletes were recognised as Best Player in the men's, youth, and junior categories. With this result, the 'Kings of Taekwondo' added their 10th title of the season and claimed the overall championship trophy in the men's category. Official statement from the club Engineer Suleiman Abdulrahman Al Hajri, Board Member and Head of Individual Sports, said: "We congratulate the taekwondo team on this achievement, which reflects the efforts of the technical and administrative staff. I also commend the outstanding performance of our athletes who lived up to expectations and represented the club in the best way throughout the season." He added: "Individual sports at Sharjah Club follow a strategy of continuity and generational transition. This long-term approach has yielded remarkable results across all disciplines over the years. We will continue this path to safeguard our successes and achieve new milestones in future seasons." Al Hajri also stressed that the consistent support and attention from the Sharjah Sports Council have played a major role in the success of individual sports across the emirate, especially at Sharjah Club. He acknowledged the unwavering backing of the club's Board of Directors, which has stood by the teams in every competition. Looking ahead to the next season Al Hajri concluded by noting that preparations for the new season are already underway, with plans to meet all team needs to ensure they are fully equipped to compete at the highest level. Khalid Al Midfa praised the continuous achievements of the club's karate team, stating the Board of Directors' commitment to supporting all sports at the club and maintaining the legacy established by previous leadership. Strategic planning and player development Engineer Al Hajri highlighted that the victory reflects years of strategic planning, saying the Individual Games Department has been implementing development plans for over five years. These efforts aim to nurture talent and supply the UAE national teams with top-performing athletes. He emphasised the role of the Sharjah Sports Council, its vision for elevating individual sports, and the unwavering support from the club's leadership, which has been key to the consistent excellence demonstrated by Sharjah's karate champions. Celebrating excellence The ceremony was attended by officials from the UAE Karate Federation, including Ibrahim Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Competitions Committee; Mohammed Al Shehhi, Financial Director; Mohammed Abbas, Executive Director; and Hisham Serry, Technical Director, who celebrated the crowning of Sharjah's 'Karate Kings' at the season's conclusion.
