MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two people were taken into custody following a chop shop bust in North Memphis on Monday.
On January 24, the Bartlett Police Department received a report that a 2019 Nissan Maxima had been stolen. The next day, the victims advised police that a man came to their house to return a wallet, which the man claimed to have found in the Chelsea Avenue and Warford Street area.
On Monday, the stolen Nissan Maxima was found parked in a driveway in the 1400 block of Oriole Street, completely stripped apart.
Other stripped vehicles were reportedly found on the property, leading detectives to label the home as an active chop shop.
Suspect charged with accessory previously connected to Young Dolph murder
Memphis Police Department Auto Theft Task Force investigators spoke with the owner of the home and his sister, Latasha Dunner, who told them that her brother's business was called Dunner Enterprises. Dunner was then taken into custody.
While investigators were on the scene, a white Chevrolet Impala was seen circling the neighborhood. The driver was identified as Kenneth Langs, who police determined to be the man who returned the victim's wallet days before. Langs was then taken into custody.
Reports say the stolen Nissan Maxima was recovered from the home, but it was deemed a total loss with an estimated $26,500 in damage.
Police also found that the home had not had active utilities since July 2024, and the occupants had rigged the MLGW meter to illegally power the home.

Dunner allegedly told police that she and her brother owned all of the vehicles on the property and admitted to watching numerous people take the vehicles apart. Police say she admitted that she keeps to herself and does not worry about what is going on in the driveway.
Langs also spoke with police. He allegedly admitted to being paid $100 to strip the Nissan Maxima. Langs told police that he lied about finding the victim's wallet at Chelsea Avenue and Warford Street, stating that he actually found it in the front yard of the home on Oriole Street.
Langs was also charged for stripping a Dodge Charger that was reported stolen in December 2024.
Langs, 35, was charged with two counts of Theft of Property $10,000-$60,000 – Motor Vehicle, two counts of Felony Vandalism $2,500-$10,000 and $10,000-$60,000, and Violation of Chop Shop Law.
Dunner, 48, was charged with Theft of Property $10,000-$60,000 – Motor Vehicle, Felony Vandalism $10,000-$60,000, and Violation of Chop Shop Law.
Their bonds have not been set. Both Langs and Dunner are scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday morning.
Dunner's brother whom officers spoke with on the scene has not been taken into custody.

Driver raced 104 mph because he ‘liked the noise of the exhaust,' FL cops say

Illegal street racing has an allure of being exciting, but a driver pulled over for going 104 mph said it was the roaring sound that compelled him, according to investigators in Florida. The arrest happened just after 11 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, in Lehigh Acres, after a deputy spotted three vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed on six-lane Lee Boulevard, according to a Lee County Sheriff's Office affidavit. The speed limit in the area is 45 mph and radar 'clocked' the vehicles in the 100-mph range, officials said. All three were stopped, and among the drivers was an 18-year-old who noted he was 'racing a Dodge Charger because he liked the noise of the exhaust,' the sheriff's office reported. He was arrested and charged with a street racing/stunt driving violation, and his vehicle was impounded, the sheriff's office said. Details of the other drivers were not released. 'I have zero tolerance for street racing in Lee County,' Sheriff Carmine Marceno said in a June 5 news release. 'Driving an excessive speed and putting yourself, your passengers, and others on the road at risk is an incredibly selfish decision.' Lehigh Acres is about a 140-mile drive southeast from Tampa.

North Fort Myers man faces vehicular homicide charges in crash that left one dead

A North Fort Myers man faces vehicle homicide charges after authorities say he raced another vehicle, weaving through traffic, which led to the other driver's death. Dillon Glenn Sandy, 21, faces one count of vehicular homicide. Sandy's court case file, which would include the arrest affidavit with the victim's identity, was not available by publication. Around 1:45 p.m. April 18, Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded to a fatal traffic crash on northbound Interstate 75, on the Daniels Parkway Overpass, at mile marker 131. Fatal crash arrests: Second driver arrested in Pennsylvania in Cape Coral 125-mph crash that killed motorist A Hyundai Sonata driven by Sandy and a Nissan Maxima, driven by the victim, a 24-year-old Lehigh Acres man, were traveling north on I-75, at high speed, approaching slower traffic, when Sandy's car entered the right lane to pass the slower traffic, while the victim's car entered the left lane to pass the slower traffic. Troopers said both vehicles then attempted to change back onto the center lane. In doing so, troopers said, the left side of Sandy's car collided with the right side of the victim's car. After the collision, both cars collided with the concrete barrier wall. The victim's car overturned, ejecting the driver. Sandy then collided with the ejected driver, who died on scene. Sandy and a 23-year-old North Fort Myers man traveling with him suffered injuries and were taken to Gulf Coast Medical Center, in Fort Myers. Troopers said that on June 5, after an exhaustive criminal investigation, they arrested Sandy. Sandy remained in custody by publication on $50,000 bond. His arraignment is July 7. Feds offer $10K reward for info leading to arrest of cross-dressing Brooklyn gang member

The FBI is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a notorious Brooklyn gang member wanted for conspiracy to murder, who has previously eluded authorities by dressing as a woman, the agency announced. Cops have been looking for Joel Myrie, known on the street as 'Pookie,' since his alleged involvement in a drive-by shooting in Canarsie on Father's Day in June 2022 that left the 28-year-old victim severely wounded. According to authorities, Myrie is a member of No Love City (NLC), a Brooklyn-based offshoot of Gangster Disciples. In the 2022 shooting, Myrie and three associates got in a stolen orange Dodge Charger and drove into enemy-gang territory, where they opened fire into a group of rivals, striking the victim several times, according to court documents. As a part of the plan, three other alleged gang members drove two 'decoy cars' flanking the Dodge Charger, which were supposed to slow down authorities in case of a police chase. In August 2024, Myrie and the others were indicted on conspiracy to murder, racketeering and firearms charges. Authorities arrested six crew members in Brooklyn and Bridgeport, Conn. the day of the indictment. Myrie is the only one of the seven who hasn't been caught. Myrie may have evaded arrest by posing as a woman. On Sept. 10, he was seen wearing a dress and a 'long-haired wig,' according to the FBI. The FBI released two pictures of Myrie in the guise of a woman, one with long, straight hair held back by a pink checkered head band, and another of him posing demurely in a pattered blue cocktail dress and black boots, holding a white purse. It is unclear when those photographs were taken. The feds have built several cases aimed at taking down Gangster Disciples and No Love City in recent years. Also in 2024, four high-ranking members were sentenced to several decades in prison for a string of shootings in 2020 sparked by a stolen gold pendant and necklace. 'It is unknown if Myrie has maintained his altered appearance,' according to the FBI. Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or report their tip online at
