TAG 91.1a day ago

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received an invitation from Mark Carney, Prime Minister of Canada, to participate in the G7 Summit next week.
It remains unclear whether the Emirati head of state will attend the high-profile intergovernmental event, which will be hosted in Canada, but the invitation spotlights the UAE's growing role in international security and economy.
The G7 is an informal bloc of industrialized democracies - the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United Kingdom (UK) - that meets annually.
Key agenda items are expected to include international peace and security, global economic stability and growth, the digital transition, climate action, and other pressing global issues.
This year, the G7 Summit is expected to also focus on AI and digital transition, something the UAE has been increasingly recognised for worldwide.

Khalifa Fund opens registration for 8th edition of ‘Venturist' Summer Camp focused on game development

The Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development (KFED) has opened registration for the 8th edition of its 'Venturist' Summer Camp, targeting Emirati students aged 13 to 18. The week-long summer camp will be held from July 7 to 11, 2025, at the Abu Dhabi 42 headquarters in Zayed Port, Abu Dhabi. This first of its kind camp is designed to empower the youth and enhance their skills in technology and game development fields. Its training programme is divided into two distinct pathways based on age. The first one, for those between the ages 13 to 15, aims to build a strong foundation in programming and game development. The second, tailored for those aged 16-18, offers the opportunity to explore advanced concepts in game development and design. The programme serves as a dynamic platform to explore game development in an educational environment, blending learning and recreation. It also encourages collective work and enhances team spirit, while cultivating entrepreneurial and creative thinking. Participants are encouraged to develop innovative ideas and practical solutions that align with current market trends and demands. Moreover, the camp is organised under the supervision of specialised trainers in game development, aiming to enhance students' skills in programming and project development aspects. Mouza Al Nasri, Acting CEO of the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, said, 'The camp is much more than just an educational programme, rather it aims to foster a dynamic environment that contributes to enhancing creativity, developing technical skills, teamwork and entrepreneurial thinking, while enabling participants to gain game development experience. Such an approach empowers Emirati youth to hone their skills and develop innovative ideas. This further aligns with our vision to promote innovation in Abu Dhabi, recognising its vital role in strengthening the small and medium-sized enterprise ecosystem, especially within the realm of game development. The camp will also prepare students for freelance and future career opportunities in the gaming sector.' Since its launch in 2022, the summer camp has attracted the participation of 750 Emirati students across its intensive training programmes. Participants were even awarded a prestigious training certificate from Stanford University, reflecting the superior quality of the training. The Khalifa Fund invites ambitious young minds to leverage this valuable opportunity and become a part of an inspiring educational journey. Registrations are open for Emirati students aged 13 to 18, and residing in Abu Dhabi, until June 30, 2025. To register and learn more about the application criteria, please visit the website:

The 'Inclusive Employment 2024' report, issued by the Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR), reaffirms Dubai government entities' ongoing commitment to identifying, hiring, and integrating people of determination into the public workforce. In addition to unlocking their potential, building their capabilities, and ensuring their effective integration into government work, these efforts aspire to help them achieve their professional and personal goals, and contribute meaningfully to the nation's development, in line with Dubai's standing as an inclusive and empowering society for all. The steady increase in the number of employees of determination in government entities reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council. His Highness has actively promoted the importance of integrating individuals of determination across all sectors, particularly the public sector, and enabling them to realise their potential and skills to shape Dubai's future and ensure its long-term prosperity. Integrated Ecosystem His Excellency Abdullah Ali Bin Zayed Al-Falasi, Director General of DGHR's Department, emphasised the significance of this initiative, stating: 'The formation of the Higher Committee for the Protection of the Rights of People of Determination, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is a significant step towards empowering people of determination—not only through employment opportunities but also through an integrated ecosystem that begins with assessment and training, followed by professional follow-up and development. Beyond simply providing jobs, we create career paths based on competence, fairness, and passion. This strategic direction reflects our commitment to shaping an inclusive work environment where every member of society, including people of determination, has the opportunity to define Dubai's future.' The Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MBRHE) has announced the commencement of handing over of residential units built under the Al Khawaneej 1050 Villas Project. The move aligns with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, aimed at enhancing the community ethos and providing dignified living conditions for UAE citizens within sustainable and modern residential developments. The project is part of the Establishment's efforts to deliver high-quality, sustainable housing, with designs that reflect a modern interpretation of local architecture while meeting the evolving needs of Emirati families. Mohammad Hassan Al Shehhi, Acting Chief Executive Officer, MBRHE, said that the start of the handover process marks a strategic milestone in realising the Establishment's vision to build integrated residential communities that elevate quality of life and reinforce family stability in the emirate of Dubai. 'This achievement is a tangible reflection of the leadership's vision to provide housing environments that are worthy of Emirati citizens. It is driven by advanced urban planning solutions and a fully digital experience that elevates efficiency and comfort. The Establishment has taken a proactive approach from planning to execution, allocation, and finally, handover — all facilitated through a smart digital system that eliminates the need for paper-based processes,' Al Shehhi said. He added: 'We have successfully transformed the housing handover experience into a seamless, transparent, and secure digital journey — highlighting the evolution of government service delivery and reinforcing public confidence in the housing system. Sustainability, in our view, encompasses not only construction but also the streamlining of processes and the pursuit of governance excellence.' Accent on innovation Al Shehhi reaffirmed the Establishment's commitment to the highest standards and emphasised that future projects would feature increased innovation and flexibility, aligned with Dubai's vision for smart, sustainable urban development.
