Elizabeth Banks' son has hilarious outlook on acting career
Elizabeth Banks' son doesn't think acting is worth the "effort".
The 51-year-old actress - who has sons Felix, 14 and Magnus, 12, with her husband Max Handelman - revealed one of her boys recently had a role in a school production, but wasn't impressed with the return he got for the work he put in.
She told E! News: "My son was recently in a school play and he said, 'That was a lot of effort for flowers and some applause!' "
While it's unclear if her sons will follow in her big screen footsteps, the 'Charlie's Angels' actress admitted her friend's kids have started to discover her movies.
She laughed: "I recently got a text from a friend who said, 'Just so you know, our son saw 'The 40-Year-Old Virgin'.
'I was like, 'OK, got it, I understand what that means.' Well, the cat's out of the bag!"
The 'Pitch Perfect' star previously opened up about the struggle with finding a "balance" between being a parent and working.
She told PEOPLE magazine in 2023: "I'm not sure that balance is, there's no balance achievable.
'For me, what I've come to is letting go of guilt. It's societal. But you let go of it.
"And I trust my husband. My husband — just being like, 'You got it.' '
She admitted it took the couple a while to find their footing as new parents.
Recalling the early days of parenthood, she joked: "I was like, 'What do you mean you don't know how to swaddle yet? We're two months in and you can't swaddle this kid?'
'I literally started coming home and being like, 'The baby's alive. Great job.' My standard went to that.
"I still hope I come home. I'm like, 'What'd you guys eat?' He's like, 'We went to In-N-Out.' I'm like, 'Great. Okay. Don't care.''
And she reflected on how her own mother - with whom she now has a good, loving relationship" - also worked while trying to raile a family.
She said: "So really letting go of guilt. It's been huge for me. Really, truly, it's allowed me to just be at work and not be worried."

I told myself that I knew (and Chris knew) the signs to watch out for. "But I was fortunate. My postpartum mental health has been really steady, and wow - what a difference! When I first looked into Emerson's eyes, I immediately had the connection I'd dreamed of. This postpartum period has been so much easier because I feel like my normal self, and I feel 100 percent connected with my daughters. "I'm not sure if it's because my hormone levels are different this time (which my doctor said could be a factor) but I'm really cherishing these first few weeks as a family of four."

Cutting ties with my dad was the best decision, says Kristin Cavallari
Kristin Cavallari doesn't regret cutting ties with her dad. The 38-year-old star decided to stop speaking to her dad, Dennis Cavallari, after he "crossed the boundary" with her kids, and Kristin now considers the move to be "the best decision [she's] ever made". The blonde beauty - who has Camden, 12, Jaxon, 11, and daughter Saylor, nine, with ex-husband Jay Cutler - told People: "I mean, honestly, and this might sound messed up to some people, but it's the best decision I've ever made, cutting my dad out of my life. Such a weight has been lifted from me. "There's not one day where I miss him. I don't know if it was two or three years ago, but I mean, I was an adult, let's say I was 35 [when I decided]. It was 35 years of buildup to that point." Kristin refused to go into detail about her dad's mistakes. However, the reality star is "happy" with her decision. She shared: "Like, you're just gaslighting me. I don't have time for that anymore. "If someone's not bringing you joy, if people are only bringing you hurt and sadness and anger, what is the point? Even if it's a parent, life's too short." Meanwhile, Kristin recently revealed that she's returned to using dating apps. The TV star has been single since splitting from Mark Estes in 2024 - but Kristin has now returned to dating apps and she's open to finding love once again. She said on the 'Let's Be Honest' podcast: "Nashville is awful for dating. That's why I have to be on a dating app." Kristin has actually been invited on dates by a couple of well-known men in recent times. But the 'Very Cavallari' star wanted to focus on her podcast tour before turning her attention to finding love. She explained: "I was supposed to go on two dates, and I was like, 'You have to wait until after my podcast tour.'" Kristin is actually making a concerted effort to "stay out of headlines". Asked if she's been pursued by any "known people", Kristin replied: "These ones are. But, I mean, I'm trying to stay out of headlines while I'm on the podcast. Then after I'm going quiet."

Netflix decided to come out of the gate swinging this week, after hosting its 'Tudum 2025 Live Event' over the weekend: a celebration of all the cool shit the streaming giant has cooking. While there were a few live music performances, and celebrity cameos, we're all actually interested in what the streaming brand is bringing us this year – and next. Thankfully, it came with the goods. We got new trailers for a bunch of Netflix's biggest series, as well as release dates for several of its major projects—from the long-awaited Happy Gilmore 2, to a brand-new rendition of Frankenstein. So let's not waste anymore time—here's all the big trailers and release date Netflix announced. 'Happy Gilmore 2' Launches July 25 Yep, everyone's favourite miscreant golfer is back on course. Netflix has given us our first proper look at the upcoming sequel this week, as well as dropping a release date bombshell: it's coming next month. Now set to release 25 July, 2025, Adam Sandler's Netflix-backed Happy Gilmore 2 looks every bit as irreverent as the original, if not a bit more formulaic. Fans of the classic movie will be glad to see quite a few returning faces—including Shooter McGavin, played perfectly as always by Christopher McDonald, as well as Happy's happy wife Virginia Venit, played by Modern Family's Julie Bowen. 'One Piece': Season 2 is Dropping in 2026 If you haven't heard on One Piece yet, what rock have you been hiding under? What is arguably one of the most influential manga of all time, which was turned into one of the most successful anime of all time, is making the jump back into live action with the second season of Netflix's One Piece adaptation. Take a Look at 'Squid Game' Season 3, Dropping 27 June After teasing that the incredibly popular Squid Game would finish with a third and final season, Netflix has given us our first look at the upcoming Season 3 with a trailer, and told us when we can expect to see the end of the game: June 27, 2025. The series follows Gi-hun through his initial dealings with the games in Season 1, and his attempt to understand and destroy the games from the inside in Season 2, and following the devastating cliffhanger ending of last season (no spoilers just yet), Season 3 is sure to kick off with a bang. 'Stranger Things' Season 5 Announces Staggered Release If you've been waited with bated breath for the end of Stranger Things, we finally, finally know when we're going to get to see what happens to the people of Hawkins—but, it's not as simple as a single release date. No, instead, we're going to get the first four episodes on 26 November, 2025, three more episodes on 25 December, 2025, and the final episode on 31 December, 2025. Yes, Christmas and New Years are Stranger Things Holidays this year. As for what you can expect from the end of this absolutely epic saga? Well, check out the new trailer above. Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein Teaser Hell yes. A new rendition of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, directed by Guillermo del Toro, starring Oscar Issac as the young scientist himself? What could be better? Well, it's coming this November. The official teaser we got is dripping with gothic charm, and looks absolutely fantastic. del Toro's characteristic style is on full display, and we honestly can't wait to see what crazy stuff he conjures later this year. I just really want him to make that At the Mountains of Madness movie he keeps talking about. An Extended First Look at 'Wednesday' Season 2, coming 6 August And finally, we got our first proper look at the highly anticipated second season of Wednesday. In fact, we got the first six minutes of the first episode, and the reveal that part 1 of the series will drop on 6 August, while part 2 will come on 3 September. Netflix really loves breaking their releases up, huh. In typical Wednesday fashion, she's taking her time tracking down her favourite childhood serial killer, relishing every minute of it. Somehow the killer is Haley Joel Osment, which actually makes it even better, and we now know Lady Gaga will be playing some role in the new season. We don't get much in the way of hints as to what season 2 will be about, but it's definitely going for a darker vibe.
