Kiran Joneja REACTS To Husband Ramesh Sippy's Alleged Affairs: 'Hoga, I Don't Care…'

News1814-07-2025
In a candid interview with Lehren Retro, Kiran Joneja addressed rumours that her husband, filmmaker Ramesh Sippy, had been a 'colourful man" before their marriage in 1991. Their nearly 30-year marriage has withstood any controversy, she said, because she values commitment over public perception.
When the interviewer claimed Ramesh 'had at least two affairs," Kiran replied, 'I haven't heard of any affairs Mr Sippy has had." Undeterred, the interviewer pressed again, saying Ramesh 'was in a relationship with" two actresses. Kiran responded, 'Hoga (Maybe), but that is the past. I don't want to talk about it. I wouldn't even comment on it."
Adding further clarity, she remarked on the importance of their bond. She added, 'I don't care, maybe it was there. But I know this much that after meeting me, I don't know of any affair till today."
Kiran married Ramesh Sippy in 1991, when she was 27 and he was 44. Ramesh, who was previously married, has three children from his earlier marriage—Rohan, Sonya, and Sheena Sippy.
Kiran Juneja rose to fame with her powerful performances as Veeravali in Buniyaad and Ganga in Mahabharat, which remain iconic roles in Indian television history. In films, she has appeared in titles like Shaheen, Khosla Ka Ghosla, Bunty Aur Babli, Jab We Met, and Krrish, often portraying strong character roles. Married to filmmaker Ramesh Sippy, Kiran continues to be associated with the entertainment industry and is remembered fondly for her dignified screen presence and versatile talent.
Ramesh Sippy is a renowned Indian filmmaker best known for directing the iconic 1975 film Sholay, which became a landmark in Indian cinema. He assisted his father G.P. Sippy before making his directorial debut with Andaz in 1971. Over the years, he delivered several successful films, including Seeta Aur Geeta, Shaan, and Shakti. His work is known for its cinematic scale, strong storytelling, and memorable characters.

Péro's spring-summer capsule Flowers Flower, explores floral whimsy and legacy textiles

After its last year's collaboration with Japan's iconic brand Hello Kitty, Péro, a 15-year-old Indian fashion label by designer Aneeth Arora, has now teamed up with British luxury department store and brand Liberty London for its spring-summer capsule 2025. Titled Flowers Flower, the collection is deeply personal to Aneeth and reflects her love for legacy. Launched in Chennai on Friday, at fashion boutique Collage, the edit brings together iconic fabrics from Liberty London and Péro's rootedness and love for Indian craft and textiles. 'Dating back to 1875, there is this old-school charm about Liberty London's prints. We have been working with flowers too and Liberty London is all about those ditsy flowers. I felt that makes us a perfect match, and we decided to work with some of their classic prints,' Aneeth says. Liberty London's fine tana lawn cotton, described as a cotton that behaves like silk, is often dotted with flower prints — forget-me-nots, daffodils, peonies and speedwell. 'For this collection, we are working with the classic Tana Lawn textile that has strong legacy, and we did not want to overpower the floral prints by using very bold textiles. The Indian textiles we have used with these prints are basic, handwoven textiles from different parts of India,' she says, of the elements that make up the garments in the whimsy collection. This includes Chanderi from Madhya Pradesh, mashru stripes from Gujarat, stripes and checks from Maheshwar, silks and solids from the South of India, and cotton from West Bengal, Aneeth says. This is a departure for Péro, where the main line often features bright influences like tartans. In Péro's signature flowy, androgynous silhouettes, the capsule has shirts, dresses, tops, jackets, skirts, pants and shorts. Liberty London's signature floral prints are layered with embroidered beadwork, fabric origami, tassels, appliqué, patchwork and custom wooden buttons. Aneeth says, at heart, she feels like Péro is becoming more childlike with time. 'Nothing is a limit for us and we don't have any inhibitions. When we started, we were working with a lot of constraints, and, over the years, we have become open to things; The brand as well is evolving in such a way that nothing seems impossible now,' she says, adding that the brand's collaborations with Hello Kitty, where it channelled a 'cottagecore kawaii', and now with Liberty London, allows it to experiment and craft without rules or constraints. 'Collaboration with an iconic brand like Hello Kitty or even dreaming of working with Liberty prints now seems possible, and something we are enjoying. I think, the brand has become mature in the way we deal with materials, but it has also become more free in terms of dreaming and knowing that if you dream you can achieve,' says Aneeth. Latha Madhu of Collage calls Péro an 'enduring' brand, a word Aneeth says is a beautiful description. 'We do timeless clothing season by season, so yes, I relate to this. Be it Chennai or any other place in the world, we are consistent in the kind of design language of the brand even though we experiment with diverse themes. There are classics that we keep repeating; some of our shapes, textiles and silhouettes are always a constant,' Aneeth says. This, Aneeth says, is probably why people come back to Péro: 'I feel that the word 'enduring' resonates, and season after season, people resonate with what we are offering to them, in spite of having such drastic changes in themes.' Flowers Flower is now available at Collage, 6, Rutland Gate, Nungambakkam.

Rishabh Pant says ‘Yuzvendra Chahal ki engagement ho chuki hai' amid relationship rumours with RJ Mahavash: ‘Koi to ho saath dene wala'

Archana Puran Singh took her vlogging set and crew onto the set of the Kapil Sharma's The Great Indian Kapil Show and shared what went down behind the scenes during the episode featuring cricketers Rishabh Pant, Yuzvendra Chahal, Abhishek Sharma, and Gautam Gambhir. The cricketers excitedly met with Navjot Singh Sidhu and the rest of the crew. Archana asked each and every one of them personally about what's going on in their lives and also welcomed the newcomer, Abhishek Sharma, on the show. The vlog opens with Archana complaining about a sore throat and wondering how she is going to laugh on camera tonight. She then meets with Kapil before going on the set and compliments him on his attire, 'Where did you get this suit? It looks amazing; the black and white is looking very good.' Both then rush on to the set as Kapil states that he has to be somewhere after this. Sidhu makes his entry as the cricketers all flock around him, and he talks about Abhishek and says, 'I am so proud of him, because he is the future of Indian cricket.' Archana even called Abhishek a 'very handsome boy,' and that he made it to the show because both the cricketer and Kapil are from Amritsar. ALSO READ: Archana Puran Singh defends nepotism, says star kids have 'professional ethics': 'Bollywood people prefer to work with actors from film families' Archana then talks to the guys and asks Rishabh about his accident; the Indian wicket-keeper responded that the incident gave him a new perspective on life and taught him a lot. He informs Archana that he too has started a YouTube channel, and Archana then proceeds to give him a shout-out on her channel. While talking about his own YouTube channel, Rishabh appears to be putting a ring on Chahal's finger, and Archana asks him, 'Are you now engaged to him?' To which Rishabh replies, 'Iski toh ho chuki hai pehle.' Yuzi clarifies that the engagement is now over, referencing his divorce from Dhanashree Verma. The Chahal hazing did not stop there, however; Archana invited Chahal to her home in Madh Island but quickly added that he is too busy to come to Mumbai and meet her. Without skipping a beat, Rishabh says, 'He is here all the time.' Chahal quickly responds, 'Sabko bata de tu (Why don't you tell everyone?)' And following his teammates advice, Rishabh starts yelling the same on the set. The whole joke was clearly hinting at Chahal's rumoured relationship with RJ Mahvash, who happens to live in Mumbai.
