15-year-old boy abducted in Pakistan's Balochistan as cycle of persecution continues
Raising concerns, Paank, the Baloch National Movement's Human Rights Department, said that on July 24, 15-year-old Qamber Fida was abducted from his house in the Tump tehsil of Kech district in Meerabad.
"His abduction without charge or due process is a clear violation of international human rights law and constitutes a crime under the definition of enforced disappearance," the rights body said.
Paank strongly denounced the "ongoing crimes against humanity" in Balochistan, including "arbitrary detentions, disappearances, and repression of dissent".
The human rights body called on the Pakistani authorities to immediately and unconditionally release Qamber Fida and ensure his safety, saying that "all enforced disappearances must end, and those responsible must be held accountable".
"The rights to life, liberty, and security must be upheld without exception. Baloch lives matter, and the world must not stay silent," Paank asserted.
Meanwhile, another human rights organisation, Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), on Tuesday, demanded an immediate end to the mental and physical torture of a political activist, Imran Baloch, by the Pakistani authorities in Gwadar Jail of the province.
"Baloch political activist Imran Baloch was detained four months ago under the 'Maintenance of Public Order (3 MPO)' and transferred to Gwadani Jail, where he remains imprisoned. Imran Baloch is being deprived of basic human rights in jail. Not only are medical facilities not being provided to him, but Imran is also being subjected to severe mental and physical torture," said a statement issued by BYC.
"He is under constant surveillance day and night, and he is kept confined in a single room for 24 hours, where basic necessities such as light, fresh air, and proper food are not available. Imran Baloch is not allowed to meet with his lawyers or family, and he is being kept completely uninformed about his health condition, which has put his life at serious risk," the statement added.
The BYC appealed to human rights organisations to take notice of this "inhumane treatment" by Pakistani authorities and play their role in ensuring the "immediate and safe release of Imran Baloch".

In a first, UNSC report names TRF as group behind Pahalgam terror attack
In a diplomatic win for India, The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy of Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has found mention for the first time in a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) report for its role in the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 in which terrorists killed 26 people. It is also the first time that TRF has been mentioned in any UN document. This also marks the first mention of the LeT and any other Pakistan-based terror group in the report since 2019. Days after the Pahalgam terror attack, Pakistan had blocked India's efforts to get the UNSC to name TRF in its condemnation of the attack. Government sources said the latest report of the UNSC Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team demonstrates India's strong counter-terrorism credentials and their recognition by countries worldwide. It is also a reflection of close cooperation between India and like-minded countries in the UNSC, the sources said. The inclusion of TRF in the Monitoring Team report, despite Pakistan's efforts for its removal, highlights Islamabad's undeniable involvement in fomenting terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), and also attests to India's credibility in the UN on the counter-terrorism front, the sources said. 'It highlights Pakistan's obstructive approach to counter-terrorism efforts, recognition of the international community of the continuing threat posed by Pakistan-based terror groups and their proxies, and the key exporter of terrorism to the world,' one of the sources said. The development is particularly notable as all decisions of the 1267 Sanctions Committee, including Monitoring Team reports, are adopted by consensus by the members of the Security Council. The UNSC's 1267 Sanctions Committee is tasked to implement sanctions against terrorists, terror groups, and entities. The government sources said the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has undertaken comprehensive and coordinated efforts, and provided detailed inputs on TRF and other Pakistan-sponsored terror proxies to the UNSC Monitoring Team since December 2023. In 2024, on two occasions, the MEA had provided inputs to the Monitoring Team on the activities of TRF and its linkages to the LeT. An MEA-led inter-ministerial delegation briefed the Monitoring Team and other senior UN officials in New York in May 2024, and also shared a dossier on TRF, the sources said. The inter-ministerial delegation had held separate briefings for like-minded countries in the Security Council and other major UN member states. Resident Missions in New Delhi and Indian Missions in key capitals ensured sustained follow-up, backed by parliamentary delegations raising TRF's role in interactions abroad, the sources added. They pointed out that Pakistani foreign minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar had earlier boasted in the Pakistan National Assembly about forcing the removal of references to TRF in the UNSC press statement condemning the Pahalgam attack. 'Now, the mention of TRF in the Monitoring Team Report is evidence how the world views Pakistan's lies and deceitful narrative,' the sources said. Pakistan's strategy of plausible deniability — that is using seemingly secular and modern names like The Resistance Front and People Against Fascist Front for its jihadi proxies to divert attention from LeT and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and give an indigenous appearance to its terrorist activities in J&K — now stands punctured, the government sources said. The Monitoring Team report quoted one unnamed member state as saying that the April 22 terror attack in J&K could not have happened without the support of the LeT and that there was a relationship between the 'LeT and The Resistance Front'. 'On April 22, five terrorists attacked a tourist spot in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. Twenty-six civilians were killed. The attack was claimed that same day by The Resistance Front (TRF), who in parallel published a photograph of the attack site. The claim of responsibility was repeated the following day. On April 26, however, TRF retracted their claim. There was no further communication from TRF, and no other group claimed responsibility,' the report said. "Regional relations remain fragile. There is a risk that terrorist groups may exploit these regional tensions. One member state said the attack could not have happened without LeT's support, and that there was a relationship between LeT and TRF," the report said. "Another member state said the attack was carried out by TRF, which was synonymous with LeT. One member state rejected these views and said that LeT was defunct," it said. The member state which claimed that LeT was defunct largely appears to be Pakistan, the sources pointed out.

She was brought to Gujarat on Wednesday under transit remand. According to officials, Ansari was using digital platforms to circulate content that called for an 'armed revolution or jihad' against the Government of India. Her activities, authorities claim, were not limited to ideological endorsement, she was actively using social media to spread inflammatory messages designed to create religious discord and incite violence. An official release from the ATS stated that Ansari managed two Facebook pages and one Instagram account, collectively followed by over 10,000 users. Through these platforms, she is alleged to have shared content linked to AQIS and other radical preachers, news agency PTI reported. The material promoted themes such as Ghazwa-e-Hind, called for attacks on 'non-believers' or kafirs, and advocated for the overthrow of the Indian government. Investigators also found that Ansari had maintained contact with Pakistani entities via phone and email. Her role in the dissemination of extremist material came to light during a separate ATS operation earlier in July. On July 23, Gujarat ATS had arrested four men from Delhi, Noida, Ahmedabad, and Modasa for allegedly sharing radical and jihadi propaganda videos from AQIS on their social media accounts. The ATS said these videos aimed to incite Indian Muslim youth to reject the country's democratic system and instead impose sharia (Islamic law) through armed rebellion. Among the four arrested was Mohammad Faiq, a resident of Delhi, who had shared provocative videos calling for jihad and terror attacks in India. It was later revealed that Faiq had sourced this content from three social media accounts, two Facebook pages and one Instagram handle, which, according to investigators, were operated by Shama Parveen Ansari. Following this discovery, a Gujarat ATS team, with the support of central agencies and state police, moved to apprehend Ansari in Bengaluru. The ATS is now investigating the extent of Ansari's influence, her network of contacts, and the impact of her digital outreach. New Delhi: In a significant diplomatic setback for Islamabad, Pakistan-based terrorist outfit The Resistance Front (TRF) has been named in the Monitoring Team (MT) report of the 1267 Sanctions Committee of the United Nations Security Council released Wednesday. For India, the diplomatic significance lies in the fact that the MT reports are adopted by consensus by UNSC members. India is not a member of the international body, while Pakistan is currently a member and holds the rotating presidency. Islamabad's tenure as the rotating president of the UNSC ends on 31 July. However, only one member of the UNSC rejected the views of the MT in the report, claiming that the LeT was defunct. Two other members of the council agreed with the linkage of the outfit with the LeT. 'One Member State said the attack could not have happened without Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LeT, QDe.118) support, and that there was a relationship between LeT and TRF. Another Member State said that the attack was carried out by TRF, who was synonymous with LeT. One Member State rejected these views and said LeT was defunct,' said the report. Pakistani Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Daq claimed credit for keeping TRF out of the UNSC statement during a speech to the National Assembly in April. Pakistan has maintained that no such organisation exists and that the LeT is defunct within its borders. The inclusion of TRF in the MT report also acknowledges New Delhi's position that Pakistan has started creating proxy organisations using secular or modern names to maintain plausible deniability with regard to cross-border terrorism. Organisations like TRF or the People Against Fascist Front, a front for the Jaish-e-Mohammad, are seen as an attempt by Islamabad to give an indigenous appearance to its terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir. Despite Islamabad's diplomatic efforts, the US earlier this month designated TRF as a Foreign Terrorist Organisation and Specially Designated Global Terrorist, in a move seen as a major diplomatic victory for India. A designation by the US could impact access to foreign financing and prevent travel by group members. TRF twice claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, before withdrawing its claim on 26 April. On Monday, a joint operation codenamed 'Mahadev' by the Indian forces eliminated three terrorists—Suleiman, Afghan and Jibran—in the Valley.
