Miami Herald08-05-2025

Donny Osmond and his wife Debbie Osmond are celebrating a special relationship milestone.
After meeting each other more than five decades ago, while still in high school, the couple is now celebrating the 47th anniversary of when Donny Osmond proposed to Debbie Osmond.
In a 2016 Facebook post, Donny Osmond revealed that he first met Debbie Osmond when 'she was 15 years old.'
The legendary performer continued, saying Debbie Osmond 'was the hot babe cheerleader in town and she dated my brother Jay before she dated me.'
Donny Osmond said it took him 'three whole years to win her heart and convince her to marry me.'
As Debbie Osmond played 'hard to get,' Donny Osmond attempted to win her over shortly before her 17th birthday in 1976. 'I wanted to plan something really, really special for our first kiss,' so he mapped out a scavenger hunt that led her to Utah Lake, he explained in an interview with Woman's World.
After returning to the limo where Donny Osmond was, the only way Debbie Osmond could receive the final clue was if she gave him a kiss. 'And it was fireworks, let me tell you!'
Two years later, in 1978, Donny and Debbie Osmond exchanged their vows. Now, they share five kids and 14 grandchildren.
On Thursday, May 8, Donny Osmond took to Instagram to share a photo of himself and Debbie Osmond in 1982 in honor of their 47th proposal anniversary.
'Thank you, Debbie, for saying yes to my proposal 47 years ago and for sharing this incredible and crazy adventure through show business with me,' he wrote in the caption.
'You've been more than I could have ever hoped for—my partner, my anchor, my inspiration, and my dear wife,' Donny Osmond concluded.
'Happy 47 years!! You both have been blessed with the best partner to go thru life with,' one commenter wrote.
'Wow, it's an amazing picture! You both looked fabulous back when and fabulous together today happy anniversary!' another added.
Over Easter, Donny Osmond shared a photo of himself, his wife, and their ever growing family all together.
In another post in February, shared on Debbie Osmond's birthday, he referred to her as his 'teenage crush,' the 'best decision he ever made,' and his 'eternal love.'

Renée Victor, the voice of no-nonsense Abuelita in 'Coco,' dies at 86

Renée Victor, who voiced the no-nonsense, sandal-throwing Abuelita in Disney's animated hit 'Coco' and played the wisecracking Lupita on Showtime's 'Weeds,' has died. She was 86. Victor's death was confirmed on Monday by a representative, Julie Smith, who said the actor had lymphoma for several years. She died Friday at her home in Sherman Oaks, California, Smith said, with family by her side. A post on the Instagram feed of Pixar, which produced 'Coco,' said: 'We are heartbroken to hear of the passing of Renée Victor, the voice (of) Abuelita in 'Coco' and an incredible part of the Pixar family. We will always remember you.' Victor appeared in 22 episodes of 'Weeds' as sassy housekeeper Lupita between 2005 and 2012, among many other TV credits including 'ER,' 'Matlock' and 'The Addams Family.' But she was perhaps best known for what she called the chancla-throwing grandmother in 'Coco,' the 2017 family-friendly movie that explored death through the journey of a young Mexican boy to the land of the dead. 'I play the part of 'Abuelita,' the chancla throwing grandma that preaches 'No Music!'' she wrote on Instagram, looking back several years ago. 'Enjoy 'Coco' with your family this Dia de los Muertos and forever more!' She also looked back at 'The Apostle,' the 1997 movie that Robert Duvall wrote, directed and starred in. 'He took a chance on me with this film,' Victor wrote on Instagram. 'This is where I got my nickname 'one take Renée,'' she said, adding laughter emojis. 'I had a small role but what a great one! Can somebody give me an amen?!' Born in San Antonio, Texas, on July 25, 1938, Victor began her performing career as a singer and dancer. She moved to Los Angeles in the 1960s, according to biography material provided by her representatives, where she launched her career singing with prominent big band leaders Xavier Cugat and Pérez Prado. She also taught Latin dancing, including the salsa and tango. She met her future husband, Ray, during that period, and from 1963 to 1973, they performed together as 'Ray & Renée,' a variety show took them around the world — including Australia, where 'they enjoyed particular fame,' the materials said. In the 1970s, Victor hosted the 'Pacesetters' public affairs show on KTLA, her representatives said, and by the '80s had moved into TV and film work. Her film credits, other than 'The Apostle,' included the 2014 horror film 'Paranormal Activity 5: The Marked Ones,' 'The Doctor' with William Hurt (1991), and 'A Night in Old Mexico' (2013), also with Duvall. In 2004, she had a recurring role as Florina Lopez on TV's 'ER,' and the following year was cast in 'Weeds.' Other series credits included 'Snowpiercer' (2020-2021), 'Mayans M.C.' (2022), 'Dead to Me' (2020-2022), and Amazon's 'With Love' (2021-2023). Victor is survived by her daughters, Raquel and Margo Victor, Smith said.

Bethenny Frankel Commanded the Runway at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Show & Fans Are in Awe

This past weekend, on May 31st, celebrities, models, athletes and reality TV icons walked the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Runway Show. Among them was The Real Housewives of New York City alum Bethenny Frankel, who commanded the show not once or twice, but three times! On the runway, Frankel, 54, wowed in three distinct looks: a daring leopard-print one-piece, a double-denim bikini with a matching cowboy hat and a pink polka-dot two-piece with a tiny black cover-up. More from SheKnows Iskra Lawrence's Baby Daughter Prima Made Her Runway Debut at 7 Months Old Alongside Her Mama In videos of her walking the catwalk, Frankel is seen dancing her way down the runway while she's rocking glowy, bronze makeup and long chocolate-highlighted locks. 'Okay so this is what 50s can look like?????🔥❤️🙌' wrote a follower in the comment section. 'Let's be real: we all want to look and feel this confident in our 50s,' echoed another. 'Bethenny crushed it—own it, don't knock it. 👙🍑🔥' In fact, Frankel looked so incredible on the runway that fans are lining up to hear her tips and tricks. 'Okay, so I guess we need to discuss what I looked like on that runway because the internet is fascinated with my age, my weight, my face, my hair,' Frankel said in a candid Instagram video. 'Listen, I can tell you with great certainty that every woman who was with me on that stage did not look that way two hours prior. It was everybody's job and that's what goes on in Hollywood and the entertainment industry in the pictures that you and your daughters see of women. There's a lot of work that goes into that.' Frankel then goes on to explain that she doesn't go to extremes when it comes to her body and her nutrition. Instead, she follows what feels right, like taking walks on the beach or eating healthier after having a few heavy meals. 'I do not crash diet, I don't go to a gym, I walk on the beach, everything I do has balance,' she said. 'I have a good relationship with food and exercise, but it wasn't always that way.' Following the runway, which also saw major stars like Stassi Schroeder, Jordan Chiles, Livvy Dunne and Ilona Maher, Frankel got candid about the experience. 'I will tell you that the resounding theme and culture is women supporting women,' she told her Instagram followers in another video. 'I have never seen the level of female support that I experienced here.' 'There were women who went out of their way to go, 'I want to talk to you about your walk,' 'What are you going to do?' 'You look good,'' she continued. 'Not just compliments, but helping and genuinely wanting other women to win. And it makes you want other women to win, and it's contagious.' She then admitted that she wasn't exactly nervous to hit the runway. 'I wasn't nervous, I was aware of my age, that I'm not a model, and I was just like 'Am I going to stick this landing or am I going to make an absolute fool of myself and embarrass you guys?'' she said.
