
Low-Code, No-Code And Robotics Are Reshaping Digital Transformation

Over the course of my decade in technology leadership, I've had the opportunity to guide numerous large-scale digital transformation initiatives across banking, consulting and enterprise technology. From merger-driven system integrations to enterprise-wide process reengineering, low-code/no-code (LCNC) platforms and intelligent automation have consistently played a pivotal role in my work. Whether we were empowering non-technical business users to prototype their own solutions or helping IT teams accelerate delivery cycles, LCNC has enabled us to deliver real impact fast.
To me, LCNC and robotic process automation (RPA) aren't trends—they're essential pillars of modern enterprise strategy. They empower teams, reduce friction and enable agility in ways we couldn't have imagined a decade ago. This article is my attempt to demystify that journey.
In my experience, choosing the right LCNC platform can make or break a digital transformation initiative. Over the years, I've evaluated and implemented several LCNC tools across different organizations, and I've learned that it's not just about flashy features or slick UI. It's about how well the platform scales, how easily it integrates into your existing tech stack and whether it can handle both simple use cases and enterprise-grade complexity.
One lesson I've learned the hard way is that governance cannot be an afterthought. I've seen what happens when teams build freely without controls—and it often results in shadow IT, duplicated logic and compliance risk. I always advocate for a zero-trust approach: strict authentication, encrypted data flows and well-defined access policies. LCNC tools often move fast—but security has to move faster. I've led programs where we embedded automated testing, code scans and centralized monitoring into our development lifecycle from day one, which made a huge difference in identifying risks early.
And finally, none of this works without culture. Building a security-first mindset across teams—through training, awareness and ongoing engagement—has been one of the most effective ways I've seen to reduce risk while keeping innovation flowing. Lessons From The Field: Real-World Challenges And How To Avoid Them
With RPA, one common misstep I've seen is jumping straight into bot deployment without first optimizing the process. I once inherited a set of bots that were automating a poorly designed workflow. The result? Constant bot failures and more rework than relief. We eventually paused the automation, reengineered the process with business SMEs and only then deployed bots—this time with long-term success.
In one of my initial LCNC rollouts, I discovered collaboration is a must for LCNC. LCNC doesn't mean no IT—it means more intentional collaboration between business and IT. Metrics And ROI Considerations
To make a compelling case for LCNC and robotics, organizations must measure the return on investment (ROI) and business impact of these technologies. Enterprises leveraging low-code platforms can reduce their application development time by over 50%, allowing them to respond faster to market demands.
Additionally, automation through RPA and process orchestration has led to an average operational cost reduction of 30%. These platforms also enhance workforce productivity, with reports indicating that a majority of workers could save six hours a week with automation, allowing them to focus on higher-value strategic initiatives. Furthermore, companies implementing automated workflows have observed improvements in compliance and risk management, reducing regulatory penalties and operational errors.
Enterprises that effectively embrace LCNC and robotics are positioned to gain a significant competitive advantage. This technological shift can enable businesses to launch new digital offerings faster, optimize operational costs, enhance compliance and governance and foster a culture of innovation. More importantly, this transformation is reshaping the future of work, empowering organizations to build resilient, high-performing and agile digital enterprises. The question is no longer about whether to adopt LCNC and robotics, but rather how fast enterprises can harness their potential to stay ahead in the digital race.
These aren't just technologies to me. They're tools I've used to solve real problems, often under immense pressure. Whether it's during a crisis, a merger or a daily operations challenge, LCNC and RPA have consistently proven their value. More than that, they've changed the way people work—and how they feel about their work. That's why I remain passionate about driving this transformation forward.

Hemp industry among those urging Gov. Greg Abbott to veto bill that bans THC products in Texas
On the final day of the Texas legislative session, the hemp industry, veterans, and other advocates urged Gov. Greg Abbott to veto Senate Bill 3, which would ban THC products in the state. Opponents deliver 100,000 letters Opponents gathered at the Capitol Monday morning, delivering boxes they said contained 100,000 letters urging the governor to reject the measure. Veterans, Democrats, and some conservatives held a news conference to voice their opposition, arguing that the bill would harm Texans who rely on hemp-derived products for relief from pain and other conditions. Under SB 3, retailers would be limited to selling only non-intoxicating cannabinoids, such as CBD and CBG. Supporters cite public health risks CBS News Texas Supporters of the bill, including Patrick, argue it is necessary to protect public health. At a news conference last week, Patrick displayed several products that would be banned under the legislation, which is set to take effect Sept. 1 if signed into law. Aubree Adams, founder of Safe and Healthy Texas, spoke at a separate news conference Monday afternoon in support of the bill. "This bill is a collection bill to get rid of the poison that is synthetic THC," Adams said. "This drug operation is an all-out assault on Texas families and schools." Social media voices opposition Meanwhile, social media users have joined the debate. One man, identified as Johnny Lyon, posted on X: "I use the hemp products successfully. I want you to veto SB 3 because my wife and I like these products. They help with arthritis and help with other aches and pains." Medical marijuana program expands In a related development, lawmakers also passed a bill expanding the state's medical marijuana program, increasing the number of dispensaries and qualifying conditions. N.Y. lieutenant governor to challenge Hochul in Democratic primary
Antonio Delgado, New York's lieutenant governor, announced he will run for governor in the state, setting up a bitter Democratic primary battle against the person who appointed him: Gov. Kathy Hochul. In his campaign launch video on Monday, the former congressman highlighted his upbringing in Schenectady, New York, and called for 'bold, decisive, and transformational' leadership. While his announcement didn't mention Hochul by name, Delgado mentioned New York's housing affordability crisis and legal fights the state faced from the Trump administration in what he suggests is retaliation for its liberal policies. 'Listen, the powerful and well-connected have their champions,' Delgado says in the video. 'I'm running for governor to be yours.' Delgado, who represented parts of Hudson Valley during two terms in Congress, was appointed by Hochul to lieutenant governor in 2022 after her previous lieutenant governor, Brian Benjamin (whom Hochul also appointed), was indicted on bribery charges and resigned — though the charges against him were ultimately dropped. Delgado said in February he wouldn't seek reelection as lieutenant governor in 2026, fueling speculation he could mount a primary challenge to Hochul. 'When I first made the decision to run for office after the 2016 presidential election, I did so because I believed we needed more leaders in government willing to hold themselves accountable to the people — and only the people. I believe New Yorkers deserve this kind of leadership now more than ever,' Delgado wrote then. 'All options are on the table, and I will be exploring them.' Hochul's office released a scathing response, appearing to confirm the months-long discord between the two officials. 'Today, Antonio Delgado finally said out loud what has been obvious for quite some time: he is simply not interested in doing the job of the Lieutenant Governor of the State of New York. Governor Hochul had already begun taking steps to identify a new running mate for 2026,' the statement read, adding that her office would be 'reallocating' his duties to make sure they are 'no longer neglected.' In July 2024, Delgado called for former president Joe Biden to step aside and drop his reelection bid, becoming the first statewide Democrat to do so. The move put him at odds with Hochul, who was still a stalwart supporter of Biden's bid. Delgado called for New York Mayor Eric Adams to resign in February amid his federal corruption charges and allegations that Adams engaged in a 'quid pro quo' agreement with the Trump administration to have the charges dropped, sharply breaking with Hochul, who said she would not remove Adams from office and instead proposed oversight measures over his administration. A federal judge dismissed the corruption case against Adams in April. Meghan Meehan-Draper, executive director of the Democratic Governors Association, backed Hochul in a statement on Monday, calling the governor 'a proven leader with a strong record of delivering for New Yorkers.' 'The Democratic Governors Association is 100 percent behind Governor Hochul as she continues to deliver for New York, take on Donald Trump, and build the operation it will take to beat Republicans up and down the ballot in 2026,' Meehan-Draper said.
