Tyrell Malacia finally has Celtic transfer green light from Man Utd after price drop and Rangers ally intel

The Scottish champions are in need of a new left-back following the departure of Greg Taylor
Celtic have been given the green light to sign Manchester United full back Tyrell Malacia - if they revive their January interest.
The Scottish Premiership champions were on the hunt for a left-back in the winter window after failing to get bring Kieran Tierney in early from Arsenal despite having a pre-contract agreement in place.

Celtic had cut short Alex Valle's loan spell from Barcelona to allow the youngster to join Como - leaving Greg Taylor as the only recognised left-back at the club.

Jeffrey Schlupp would come in from Crystal Palace on loan to provide cover for Taylor while Malacia would spend the rest of the season at PSV Eindhoven - but is's a case of deja vu this summer for Brendan Rodgers with the Hoops searching for a left-back again.
Tierney has now arrived by Scotland cap Taylor has made the move to PAOK - leaving the door open for the Dutchman to arrive in Glasgow's east end.
Malacia signed from Feyenoord for around £13million four years ago but has struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford.
The Mirror now report that Malacia has been allowed to report back for pre-season at Carrington late as they seek moves away, having told the club they are keen to move on.
The left-back has been out on loan at PSV Eindhoven, who decided not to make his loan move permanent for £8.3m despite helping the club lift the Eredivise title.

The Athletic claim that United are willing to accept significantly less than the buyout clause at this stage of the window to offload the 25-year-old as they struggle to "drum up suitors" in the Netherlands international.
Former Rangers boss Dick Advocaat has offered a bumper recommendation to Celtic after his performances for the Dutch champions last season.
He interested parties that the best is yet to come from Malacia - having previously managed him during his time at Feyenoord.

Speaking to Feyenoord Pings, the veteran boss said: 'I know that he hasn't played for Manchester United for almost a year and a half, but this boy has a good head.
"At Feyenoord I saw that he is made of the right stuff. I am convinced of that; Tyrell is a real winner.
"Tyrell is good on the ball, and don't underestimate his defensive qualities. Tyrell may not be that big, but he holds his own. At Feyenoord he always went into battle. He is also really not afraid of anyone."

Adam Forrester returns to Hearts - final decision to be made on St Johnstone loan

Adam Forrester is returning to Hearts five days after agreeing a loan move to St Johnstone, but a final decision on the player's future has yet to be made. The 20-year-old will be back with his parent club to play in a bounce game against Ross County on Tuesday, after which management will decide whether to recall him permanently. Forrester moved to McDiarmid Park on loan last Thursday as part of a new co-operation agreement signed with Hearts. The deal enables players aged 16 to 21 who are eligible for Scottish national teams to move freely between the two clubs during the season. However, following a thigh injury to new right-back Christian Borchgrevink, Hearts are short on cover in that position. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Forrester will play for his parent club in the bounce game against County whilst head coach Derek McInnes and his staff decide the next step. They would like him to play regularly in the Championship for more first-team experience, but Borchgrevink's injury may force a rethink. St Johnstone pursued Forrester with the intention of playing him as their first-choice right-back this season. Head coach Simo Valakari is an admirer of the young Riccarton youth academy graduate and hoped to have him involved in Saints' Championship trip to County on Friday evening. It is believed his registration was not cleared in time, and Sven Sprangler deputised at right-back instead as substitute Uche Ikpeazu's header won the game for the visitors. Hearts beat Dundee United 3-2 at Tannadice Park on Sunday to remain joint-top of the Premiership after two games. Afterwards, McInnes was asked about Forrester's situation following the injury to Borchgrevink. 'We'll deal with that tomorrow. I think we just need to take a breath,' he said McInnes. 'We got the news yesterday, but he [Borchgrevink] could be out for six to eight weeks, effectively, which was bizarre for me how its came about. He trained fine on Thursday. No kind of real issues, reported about a tightness on Friday, we got him scanned just to make sure. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad 'With Adam going to St Johnstone on that co-operation loan, he never get registered in time. I think it was a St. Johnstone issue because obviously he never got involved on Friday night. We need to take a breath on that tomorrow. We'll sit down in the football department and we'll just see what's the best way forward because without Borchgrevink, we didn't really have that natural right-back or wing-back effectively today. It didn't cost us today, but we'll speak about that tomorrow and try and make the right decision.' Lawrence Shankland's penalty put Hearts ahead on Tayside, but United overhauled the deficit to lead 2-1 at the interval thanks to two Ivan Dolcek strikes. Stuart Findlay headed the equaliser and then the winner in the 94th minute to complete a dramatic comeback - taking his Hearts goalscoring tally to four in five games since he arrived on loan from Oxford United.

The Lisbon Lion passed away, aged 84, last month and his funeral took place at St Joseph's Church in Blantyre, south Lanarkshire. Fallon's death means that Jim Craig, Bobby Lennox, and Willie Wallace are the only players from the Lisbon Lions squad still living. Remembered as the only member of the famous 1967 side not to play in the final, Fallon was the unused substitute goalkeeper as Jock Stein 's team famously beat Inter Milan in the final in Portugal. Twenty four hours after leading Celtic to victory in their Scottish Premiership fixture at Aberdeen, manager Brendan Rodgers and the rest of the first team squad were in attendance.
