Twins Continue Hot Streak, Make History in Win Against Guardians
The three-game series between the Cleveland Guardians and the Minnesota Twins has been a strange one, to say the least.
In a make-up game delayed from the night of Monday, May 19, due to inclement weather, the Guardians and Twins resumed the same game on Wednesday.

As the bad weather persisted into Tuesday, that game was also rescheduled to Wednesday afternoon and started just 30 minutes after the conclusion of the resumed game.
With all of this being said, the conclusion of the first make-up game had an exciting ending with some history that was made.

Twins win 10 straight home games for the first time in their new stadium's history.
In a tie game that headed into the ninth inning, Twins' second baseman Kody Clemens hit a double into center field that brought pinch-runner Ryan Fitzgerald home from second.
The walk-off double secured the win for the Twins and marked their 10th straight victory at home, a streak that began on April 25 against the Los Angeles Angels.

This 10-game win streak at home also became the longest win streak the Twins have put together since Target Field was opened at the beginning of the 2010 season.

It seems that the Twins have been able to find some winning baseball after a bad start to their 2025 season.
Just a month ago, Minnesota had a record of 7-15 and were struggling to put wins together.
Even without stars Carlos Correa and Byron Buxton, the Twins have gone 19-6 over their last 25 games and climbed to second place in the AL Central, trailing only the MLB-best Detroit Tigers.
Although there's a lot of season left, it seems that the Twins have found their rhythm and will look to continue to win games.

Minnesota will look to find their way into the postseason this year after failing to do so in the 2024 season.

Mariners slugger Cal Raleigh leads MLB in homers and is on pace to set a season record for catchers
SEATTLE — Just before Big Dumper put a thump into a soaring flyball, a smattering of 'MVP! MVP!' chants broke out from behind home plate Sunday. Given the way Cal Raleigh's season has started, perhaps the Mariners' catcher is wholly deserving of such high praise. With a solo shot during Seattle's latest victory, 2-1 over the Minnesota Twins, Raleigh upped his total to a major league-leading 23 home runs.

Reds Make Milestone Elly De La Cruz Announcement Sunday
Reds Make Milestone Elly De La Cruz Announcement Sunday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Cincinnati Reds fell to 29-31 on the young MLB season Sunday as they lost 7-3 to the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field, falling further behind in the National League Central. Advertisement The loss kept manager Terry Francona's team from gaining ground on the St. Louis Cardinals, who lost 8-1 to the Texas Rangers. Sunday's game included a milestone achievement from shortstop Elly De La Cruz, who continued a solid season with a strong game, adding to his legend in Cincinnati. The Reds made an announcement on De La Cruz as the day wore on, spotlighting his achievement on social media. Cruz blasted a 423-foot bomb at Wrigley, a two-run shot that provided a spark of hope for a Reds team that has been beaten down at times this season in the competitive NL Central. Advertisement Known more for his base stealing than his power numbers, De La Cruz has continued to hit for power during a rough first half of the season at times for Francona's team. De La Cruz's home run came after the death of his sister Genelis De La Cruz on Saturday. Elly De La Cruz insisted on playing despite his heavy heart and made it count as he knocked in two runs in one fell swoop. "For his sister," one fan wrote with a red heart emoji. "He smashed that one. I thought it was a foul at first," another said with a '100' emoji. "Sheer joy," another wrote as part of a congratulatory message on De La Cruz's milestone, bittersweet moment. Diamondbacks ace Corbin Burnes leaves game against Nationals with elbow discomfort
PHOENIX (AP) — Arizona Diamondbacks ace Corbin Burnes was lifted after just 70 pitches Sunday against the Washington Nationals with right elbow discomfort. Manager Torey Lovullo told reporters after Arizona's 3-1 win that Burnes will have an MRI on Monday. Advertisement Arizona led 3-0 in the top of the fifth inning when Burnes allowed a single by CJ Abrams with two outs. The right-hander then gestured toward the dugout with his glove and yelled in frustration. Jalen Beeks replaced Burnes and gave up an RBI single before getting the third out. Burnes allowed a run and four hits in 4 2/3 innings, with a walk and six strikeouts. He is 3-2 with a 2.66 ERA in 11 starts this season. Arizona signed Burnes to a $210 million, six-year contract before the season. He's been effective, but the Diamondbacks have dealt with a slew of pitching injuries. Jordan Montgomery (Tommy John surgery) is out for the season, Eduardo Rodríguez (shoulder) is on the injured list and reliever A.J. Puk (elbow) is on the IL as well. Advertisement Arizona allowed 10 runs in the first inning Saturday, its ninth loss in 10 games. Durability hasn't been much of a concern for the 30-year-old Burnes, who has made at least 28 starts in every season since he won the 2021 National League Cy Young Award for Milwaukee. He spent his first six years with the Brewers before being traded to Baltimore before the 2024 season. After one year with the Orioles, he signed with the Diamondbacks as a free agent.
