47 injured after car rams into Liverpool fans, including four children
Head of the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust, David Kitchin said during a televised press conference that 20 people were treated at the scene for minor injuries and did not require hospital care, RIA Novosti reported.
'We can confirm that our teams treated 20 patients at the scene for minor injuries, and these did not need hospital treatment. Twenty-seven patients in total were taken to hospital by ambulance, and we believe two of those, including one of the children, have sustained serious injuries,' Kitchin said.
He also confirmed that four of the injured were children.
Earlier, Merseyside Police said a car had driven into a crowd of people in Liverpool city centre who were celebrating the local football club's Premier League title victory.
The driver, a 53-year-old British man, was detained at the scene.

Bali police arrest Peruvian over drugs smuggled in sex toy
DENPASAR, (Indonesia): A Peruvian woman has been arrested in Indonesia's Bali after allegedly trying to smuggle cocaine into the resort island using a sex toy and hiding drugs in her underwear, police said Tuesday (Aug 19). The 42-year-old, identified only by her initials N.S., arrived at Bali's international airport from Qatar on August 12 when authorities became suspicious. "The customs officers suspected her behaviour, and after consulting with the police, they did a further check on her," Bali police narcotics unit director, Radiant, who like many Indonesians has one name, told a press conference. The officers found 1.4 kilogrammes (3.1 pounds) of cocaine inside a sex toy hidden in her genitals and in her underwear. Police also accused her of smuggling dozens of ecstasy pills. The Peruvian woman told the police she was hired to transport the drugs to Indonesia by a man she met on the dark web in April in return for $20,000, said Radiant. The woman has been charged under Indonesia's harsh narcotics law and could face the death penalty if found guilty. Last month, a Bali court sentenced a 46-year-old Argentine to seven years in prison after she was found guilty of smuggling 244 grams of cocaine wrapped with a condom that she hid inside her genitals. Indonesia has some of the world's toughest drug laws. There are dozens of traffickers on death row in the country, including a cocaine-smuggling British grandmother. Man suspected of racially abusing Bournemouth's Semenyo banned from stadiums
LIVERPOOL: A 47-year-old man from Liverpool who was arrested on suspicion of racially abusing Bournemouth player Antoine Semenyo has been conditionally bailed and banned from attending football matches, Merseyside Police said on Monday. Friday's Premier League match between Liverpool and Bournemouth at Anfield was halted during the first half after Semenyo told the referee he was targeted by a man in the crowd. The Ghana forward netted twice in the second period, but Liverpool won the match 4-2. Police said a man had been ejected from Anfield over the incident and announced they had made an arrest the following day. "He has now been bailed with conditions, which includes not to attend any regulated football match in the UK and not to go within one mile of a designated football stadium," Merseyside Police said in a statement, adding that the investigation was still ongoing. Fifa president Gianni Infantino condemned the racist abuse directed at Semenyo, saying that the Players' Voice Panel would aid the 25-year-old.
