Notre Dame's star RB Jeremiyah Love knows that teams have the Irish circled on their slate
It is one thing to make the College Football Playoff championship game, it's entirely another to show the nation that you belong and that's exactly what Notre Dame did in the 2025 season.
While they didn't win the title, it's three-game run in the CFP opened eyes across the country that the Irish aren't an overrated program, they are legit. Star running back Jeremiyah Love knows this is the case, as on Tuesday, he told On3 that 'people are coming at our necks, trying to make a statement. We welcome all of that. We're just going to do what we have to do to make it to the national championship again this year and win it all.'
There is no doubt that Love has confidence in himself and his team, as Notre Dame was extremely young last year, and despite that, still played for a championship. While there are a few question marks heading into the season, like who will be the starting quarterback, the surrounding talent isn't one of those.
It's shaping up to be a big year in South Bend, as the Irish are currently favored in each of their big games this fall, and should be making a return to the CFP with their eyes on a title.

Alabama, fellow SEC power among finalists for top 2026 edge rusher According to a report from On3's Hayes Fawcett, one of the Alabama Crimson Tide's top defensive targets has now narrowed down his list of finalists to two. That prospect is 2026 edge rusher Khamari Brooks, who will now reportedly decide between Alabama and Georgia. According to Fawcett as well, Brooks has also canceled his remaining official visits to both Texas and USC. Per the 247Sports Composite recruiting rankings, Brooks is considered as the nation's No. 112 overall player in the 2026 class, as well as the No. 14 edge rusher nationally out of North Oconee High School in Georgia. The four-star prospect is also considered as the No. 13 overall player in the state of Georgia. Alabama's 2026 recruiting class currently ranks No. 49 nationally according to the 247Sports Team Rankings with only six commitments. Of those six, three come from the state of Georgia, while two are edge rushers in four-star's Jamarion Matthews and Kamhariyan Johnson, the latter of which recently shut down his recruitment.
