Report: A Wild Name Emerges As A Potential Buyer For TNA Wrestling
TNA Wrestling is deep in negotiations to secure a new media rights deal for iMPACT. And if rumors are to be believed, a potential new owner as well. Earlier today, it was reported that TNA was deep in negotiations for a new media rights deal for iMPACT with the expectation to finalize the deal by October. It was also revealed that WWE has seemingly had a hand in these negotiations to help TNA land on one of their already-affiliated networks. This led many to speculate that this all could eventually lead to WWE purchasing TNA outright. However, a wild name has recently emerged as a potential buyer for the company. According to Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), former UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta's name has emerged from meetings this week as a potential buyer of TNA Wrestling. As the former owner of UFC, Fertitta obviously has ties to TKO, which now owns WWE. Fertitta and White worked together decades before selling his majority stake of UFC in 2016. Sapp stresses that none of this has been confirmed. However, this news was about to emerge anyway, so he felt it was best to get out in front of it and provide some much-needed context. Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available. READ MORE: Report: WWE's Mindset Behind Placing Main Roster PLEs Against AEW PPVs What do you make of this report? Karrion Kross Confirms WWE Departure
Karrion Kross and his wife, Scarlett, have officially left WWE after weeks of speculation about their contract status. Over the weekend, WWE moved Karrion Kross and his partner Scarlett to the alumni section of its website. The move was followed by skepticism about the legitimacy of his contract situation. However, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful later confirmed that Kross, Scarlett, and Ashante Thee Adonis were all legitimately removed from WWE's internal roster on August 10. In his YouTube channel video called 'My WWE Contract Ends Today', Karrion Kross discussed his WWE departure and post–WrestleMania 41 promo. 'My contract is up August 10th. I'm f*cked. I've been f*cked. Things are weird. Things are not bad, things are just very strange. I feel like the following day after WrestleMania and the Sam Roberts podcast. I literally slipped into like another timeline, like another world. Once it was done, everybody was like, 'Holy sh*t.' 'They're like, 'That was amazing.' I said, 'Thank you. Are we good?' And he goes, 'We are very good. That is nuts. That's the guy.' You know, he was saying to me, 'That's the guy we need.' And I said, 'I agree.' Shook everybody's hands. I said before I left, 'Guys, please make sure everybody knows this was a work.' Karrion Kross was just creating compelling content for fans 'Yeah. Let them know that I'm not actually mad. I love it here. I'm just doing my job. I have to create compelling things for the audience to believe. And one of the things that is so overlooked with all of this backstage insider stuff wrestling, man you can call this real, fake, whatever you want. What we do, legit, is we turn pain into art.' Karrion Kross also says he tried to secure a new contract months before his departure. Kross said it's crazy to think he wanted to be anywhere but WWE, and said he remains committed. 'You know, August 10th, it's up. That's another situation that's, like, on top of everything else going on that's confusing and stressful because, like, I expressed interest to renegotiate in early January with WWE. Like, I think it's crazy it's, like, preposterous that anyone would think that I wouldn't want to be here or, like, go somewhere else. And it's nothing against anywhere else, but, like, I'm fully committed. I'm here.' With him being a free agent, Karrion Kross also confirmed that he is now ready to take bookings for various shows. WWE Went To Extreme Lengths For Brock Lesnar's Secret Return
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Brock Lesnar's shocking return at the conclusion of SummerSlam was a masterfully kept secret. A new report from Fightful has revealed the extreme and elaborate lengths WWE went to in order to hide "The Beast Incarnate" and preserve the surprise for his attack on John Cena. The stunning return came after the main event of Night Two on Sunday, August 3rd. Cody Rhodes defeated John Cena in a brutal Street Fight to capture the Undisputed WWE Championship. How WWE Kept The Return A Secret According to the report, WWE's plan to hide Lesnar was a covert operation. It is believed that Lesnar was flown privately into Teterboro airport in New Jersey on Saturday, a smaller airport that would attract less attention. He was then "hid throughout the day" to avoid being seen by anyone. The plans for the post-match angle were also kept on a strict need-to-know basis. Many of WWE's own writers and producers were not told about the finish or Lesnar's involvement. The report notes that the intense secrecy had many backstage speculating that a surprise was coming, but most believed it would be The Rock, not Lesnar. The company also canceled its traditional post-show press conferences for the weekend, a move that is now seen as part of the strategy to prevent any leaks. EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY - AUGUST 03: Brock Lesnar celebrates after slamming John Cena during the WWE 2025 SummerSlam at MetLife Stadium on August 03, 2025 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The Beast vs. The Champ: A Violent History Brock Lesnar's return to target John Cena immediately reignites one of the most violent and iconic rivalries of the modern era. The two first clashed upon Lesnar's return to WWE in 2012, in a legendary, brutal match at Extreme Rules that saw Cena score a shocking upset. Their most infamous encounter, however, took place at SummerSlam in 2014. In a shocking and dominant performance, Lesnar completely demolished Cena, delivering 16 suplexes in a one-sided beatdown to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. That match solidified Lesnar's "Beast Incarnate" persona. This new program, set to be a major part of Cena's 2025 farewell tour, will serve as the epic rubber match to their historic feud. A Shocking End To SummerSlam Last night's main event saw Cody Rhodes finally "finish the story" for a second time, defeating the vicious heel John Cena to win back his championship. However, the celebration was cut short by the sound of Brock Lesnar's music. "The Beast" stormed the ring and, after a brief staredown with the new champion, turned his attention to the defeated Cena, hoisting him up and laying him out with a thunderous F-5 to close the show.
