ITV This Morning star hospitalised after 'nightmare' accident
A favourite from This Morning has been left devastated after a 'nightmare' event landed them in hospital. The ITV morning programme has seen quite the buzz recently, with Emma Kenny celebrating the arrival of her fourth child at 52.
Meanwhile, regular hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley are gearing up for their well-deserved summer hiatus. As Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary continue to helm the Friday shows, a slew of familiar faces are set to fill in for Ben and Cat.
Olivia Atwood, Emma Willis, Rylan Clark, Josie Gibson, Rochelle Humes, Joel Dommett, Craig Doyle, Sian Welby, and Andi Peters are all on deck to take the reins.
Jake Quickenden, an ex-X Factor star turned This Morning regular, is known for his engaging public segments across Britain, reports the Manchester Evening News.
However, Jake's recent Instagram post on Saturday (July 11) shared some unfortunate news. The I'm A Celebrity star suffered an injury during the gruelling Yukon 1000 boat race, leading to him and fitness coach Matty Green pulling out of the competition.
Sharing his disappointment, Jake expressed: "It was fun while it lasted, I can say was the most amazing, scary and utterly bonkers 36 hours I've had in my life. Already so p***ed off ready to try again next year.
"Sometimes the universe tells you something isn't right and this time I listened and we had to get out, I wanted to get home to my kids and wife, I lost my dad young and it affects me everyday I didn't want that for my lads."
Jake then recounted their initial burst of energy, which was abruptly halted when a wave knocked them into the water during their challenge.
"I couldn't get my spray deck off and was under water what seemed like 3 minutes when I came up I was pretty panicked and we had to swim the boat back to the side. Luckily we wasn't in the middle or it could have been bad, got the water out, the boat got dry and managed to set off again after losing about an hour, just when we got moving the pedal of the boat snapped and we couldn't turn left."
He continued: "This is when I was like is this meant to be, I believe in all that stuff and felt like we were being told to get out, we didn't listen we fixed the boat but by this time the storm had hit and we needed to camp to shelter from the wind and rain and the lake which if we hadn't have gone in we would have been off was now too dangerous to paddle on and I'm so glad we don't risk trying.
"We camped bear spray in hand and woke up around 3.30am after now losing 8 hours of time. We packed up got in the boat and wanted to push on we finished the 17k of the lake and we was on the river and ready to push on and try and make the cut off time, as we was celebrating making the river, we hit a boiling eddy that pulled us under and spat us out like nothing," he recalled.
Jake went on: "We came up and was about to go down the river for I don't know how long (which could have been bad) when out of nowhere again like it was meant to happen. Kyle and Mel, two American travellers who just happened to have finished fishing, jumped in the canoe and pulled us to the side.
"They were honestly angels and I personally think they stopped something really bad from happening. We got dry and realised I had a pretty beat up wrist and a broken boat and after 4 bits of bad luck we should call it.
"So we called it and for me and matty that's a hard thing to do, we knew we probs wouldn't make the cut off time in Dawson, not with the boat and my wrist, and like I said something felt off like it's was trying to get us off that river everytime something went good something terrible brought us back down to earth."
Acknowledging that 'sometimes you fail that's life', Jake expressed gratitude to his supporters for their 'love and support', revealing he had 'learnt more over 48 hours than ever before'.

Maura Higgins' defiant stance as she's set for awkward Danny Jones run-in after kiss
Love Islander Maura Higgins and her I'm A Celebrity campmate Danny Jones stunned fans when they were spotted sharing a drunken kiss at a BRIT Awards afterparty earlier this year I'm A Celebrity campmates Maura Higgins and Danny Jones could be facing an awkward encounter at this year's National Television Awards, following their drunken kiss at a BRITs afterparty. Danny, 39, won the most recent series of ITV 's I'm A Celeb, and so will be showing up at the event - as will Maura. The video, which saw the two share a kiss, resulted in a dicey time for Danny's marriage to influencer and wife of 11 years, Georgia Horsley, 38. He has spent the year quietly attempting to repair their relationship after Georgia left the family home for a period of time to cool off. Danny and Georgia share their six-year-old son Cooper, and seem to have patched things up after what could have been a marriage-ending indiscretion on Danny's part. It comes after ITV makes major decision on I'm A Celebrity's future after talks with officials. While Danny attempted to win Georgia's trust back, Maura herself kept a low profile for a short time. Their National Television Awards appearance will be a test for Georgia, although a source points out they all knew their "paths were bound to cross at some point. Speaking to The Sun, they said: 'Danny is expected to attend the NTAs on September 10, as have all previous reigning jungle winners — and Maura is also going." The source added: 'There will have to be some clever choreography to ensure they don't end up next to each other when walking the red carpet, but they could both end up on stage if I'm A Celebrity wins. Maura won't be answering any questions about the kiss. She's put the incident behind her and feels she has nothing to be ashamed of." McFly star Danny has put on a united front with Georgia after the couple's testing year. The pair were all smiles as they attended the first of seven Wembley gigs for the Oasis reunion tour last month. Mum-of-one Georgia, 38, shared a black and white photo posted on her husband's Instagram Story. It showed her beaming as they made their way from Wembley Stadium. Danny was looking over at her as they shared a laugh between them, showing they've put their rocky patch behind them and have moved on. They were joined by Danny's mum, Kathy, who walked in between the pair in the candid snap. It's been a tough year for the couple, with the news of Danny's drunken BRITS kiss with Love Islander Maura sending shockwaves earlier this year. But lucky for Danny, it appears Georgia was willing to give their marriage another try, although the pair lay low on social media since the video surfaced in March this year. Meanwhile, Maura has been keeping herself busy with work, as well as buying her new house. The 34-year-old former Love Island contestant has earned an estimated £3.2 million in the years since she found fame on the ITV dating show back in 2019. And she has splashed the cash on a luxury new home - snapping up a five-bedroom property in the south east of England. The semi-detached house boasts an impressive garden and has huge, floor to ceiling windows that allow plenty of natural light to flood in.

Princess Andre, 18, teases drastic career change after reality TV success
Princess Andre has revealed her next career move following the breakout success of her documentary, The Princess Diaries. The 18-year-old has been making numerous headlines in recent weeks following the season finale of her hit ITV2 reality show. Earlier this week, Katie Price hit back at her ex-husband Peter Andre after he shared a blistering Instagram post in which he strongly criticised his ex-wife after reported comments about his children's welfare. Princess then responded to the drama, saying: 'I love my mum and dad and that's all that matters.' Now, however, the 18-year-old has opened up about a potential career change in an exciting development. Speaking to The Sun, she said: 'I want to be a successful businesswoman which I am actually heading towards at the moment. So hopefully in five years time, it will all be up there. 'I also want to get into music.' This comes after her father Peter shot to fame with his 1995 hit Mysterious Girl. Her brother Junior, 20, also shared his five-year plan, saying: 'Music, acting, business stuff, some clothing stuff, some fragrance stuff, just all of that stuff. 'We've got amazing things coming. Obviously the industry is very [up and down] but it's always about picking yourself up and getting back to it.' Katie and Peter first met on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here in 2004 and went on to have two children together – Princess, 18, and Junior, 20 – before separating in 2009. In her new ITV series, the show focuses on Princess's relationship with fame and carving out her own reputation beyond her celebrity parents. Princess also opened up about the difficulties she faced growing up with 'a lot on her plate'. The social media influencer, who has 782k followers on Instagram, shared what she went through after Katie and her ex-husband Kieran Hayler broke up in 2018 after five years together. She said: 'We got really close to him and loved him. He did a lot of stuff, and when they split up, everything kind of went downhill. My mum, obviously, being heartbroken, didn't deal with that the best way. 'She went through a very, very dark time, which was understandable. It was hard for me because I was around adulty things that kids should never see. More Trending 'I think, as well, when we needed our mum there, she wasn't emotionally able to be there because she had so much of her own problems going on.' This prompted Kieran to apologise to his former stepdaughter. The personal trainer, 38, said he regrets his multiple affairs that ended his marriage to Katie, which had a devastating impact on Princess's childhood. Loose Women faces another blow amidst ITV cuts and 'disappointing' change
The stars of Loose Women have reportedly been left 'disappointed' after they undergo a studio 'downgrade' after it was announced the show was being cut to 30 weeks It's been reported that the Loose Women stars have been hit by yet another blow, and it's claimed that the stars have been left 'disappointed' by their new studio. The show is currently filmed in London's White City but will soon move - with it being reported to be moved to The Hospital Club in Covent Garden. It was revealed that the show would only air for 30 weeks from 52. This is not the only blow, however, as the show will also be losing its studio audience. Reports have also suggested that some of the 26-strong panel could also be cut. Now, it's been reported that the new "broom cupboard" studio will be a third of the size of their old one, leaving the presenters hugely disappointed. It comes after one TV star admitted she sleeps in separate bed to partner as she fumes over pregnancy. "Cast and crew are crestfallen. It feels like a broom cupboard. It's going to be very cramped," a source told The Sun. "It feels like the show they've fought so long and hard to create is slowly being decimated. It's heartbreaking.' ITV also confirmed that there were no plans to change the show being broadcast across ITV1 and ITVX. Earlier this week, Janet Street Porter said the changes wouldn't affect her, although she was sad about the huge changes. "They won't really affect me because I work when I want to work," she shared with Woman Magazine. "I can see they need to save money, but from my point of view, I'm sad they've cut the episodes because Loose Women as a brand is doing extremely well for ITV. "Very well indeed. It's increased its audience share and it's loved by the audience," Janet, who has been part of the show for 11 year,s said. Alongside their daytime show, the Loose Women launched their own podcast in March this year, which was available every Tuesday and Friday on ITVX. The show featured a different duo from the show each episode, who opened up on a wide variety of topics. The podcast is said to do brilliantly on ITVX, with the hosts releasing 20 episodes in the first series. It was later announced that the show would be back for a second series later this summer.
