Trigger Ending Explained: Will Moon Baek Return In Season 2 After Lee Do's Win?

Last Updated: Trigger focuses on the moral differences between ex-sniper-turned-cop Lee Do and powerful arms dealer Moon Baek, shaped by their personal life. Netflix's latest K-drama, Trigger, is giving viewers sleepless nights. The show, directed by Kwon Oh-seung, premiered on the OTT platform on July 25. Trigger, led by Kim Nam-gil and Kim Young-kwang, revolves around a fictional South Korea where firearms are outlawed but violence prevails more than ever. Illegal guns are being delivered anonymously to civilians, spreading chaos and defiance of law and order across the nation. But it was the cliffhanger ending featuring Kim Nam-gil's Lee Do and Kim Young-kwang's Moon Baek that left binge-watchers with more questions than answers, which we are here to break down for you. Trigger focuses on the moral differences between ex-sniper-turned-cop Lee Do and powerful arms dealer Moon Baek, shaped by their personal life. The climax scene shows Moon Baek inciting a riot among the citizens by illegally distributing guns. He also sets off a smoke bomb to create further chaos and killings. In this situation, Lee Do takes a bold and humane step: he puts his life at risk to save a child caught in the crossfire and gives away the opportunity to arrest Moon Baek. Lee Do's selflessness becomes a turning point in the story. People see a spark of hope in a world consumed by violence and fear. As a result, many of them voluntarily surrendered their guns, choosing peace and humanity. Lee Do later visits his arch-enemy, Moon Baek, in a hospital, who is in critical condition. Strangely enough, viewers spot a woman smiling eerily outside Moon Baek's hospital room. Soon, it is implied that she was sent to assassinate him by a foreigner who used to supply him with guns. Trigger Season 2 In The Cards? The last few minutes of Trigger showcase Lee Do resuming his job as a cop and living with the child he rescued, but Moon Baek's arc is yet to be determined. The burning question of whether he survives the ordeal or is killed by his arms dealer still remains. Although Moon Baek is in no condition to resume his dangerous business, his arms supplier, eyeing South Korea's market, leaves more room for a possible season 2 in the making.
