JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha visits Rash Behari Bose's memorial in Tokyo, says
Former External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid and India's Ambassador to Japan, Sibi George, also visited Bose's memorial in Tokyo.
Rash Behari Bose founded the Indian Independence League and was a key organiser of the Ghadar Mutiny. He played a part in the unsuccessful attempt to assassinate the then Indian Viceroy Lord Hardinge in 1912 and later fled to Japan. He was also involved with the Indian National Army.
Speaking with ANI at the memorial site, Sanjay Kumar Jha summarised the delegation's visit to Japan, noting that they had 14-15 meetings here in two days where they interacted with parliamentarians, think tanks, leaders, and the Indian community.
Jha further said that the delegation made India's future stance against terrorism clear, adding that the nation will not tolerate any terrorist activities.
'We had 14-15 meetings here in two days, interacted with parliamentarians, think tanks, leaders and the Indian community. I think we have been able to put forward the objective for which our all-party delegation came here,' Jha said.
'Our delegation was quite able to put forward its point. Information was also given about Operation Sindoor that our army targeted only the terrorist hideouts with precision, India's future stance was made clear that if Pakistan does terrorist activity in the future, we will not tolerate it, and the Indus Water Treaty, which has been suspended, was also discussed,' The JD(U) MP added.
Sanjay Kumar Jha is leading a nine-member delegation that includes BJP MPs Aparajita Sarangi, Brij Lal, Pradhan Baruah, Hemang Joshi, AITC's Abhishek Banerjee, CPI (M) MP John Brittas, former MEA Salman Khurshid, and Ambassador Mohan Kumar.
The delegation is currently in Japan and will head to other East Asian countries as part of India's global outreach against terrorism.
Earlier, interacting with the Indian diaspora in Tokyo, Jha emphasised the unity of Indian political parties in condemning terrorism and highlighted Pakistan's role in promoting proxy war against India.
'Seven delegations of all-party MPs will be visiting different countries. We were the first delegation to leave India. We have been in Japan for the last 3 days. Members of the ruling and opposition parties are in the delegation. We may have political differences and contest elections against each other, but when it comes to the country, we are all together,' said Jha.
The all-party delegation's visit to Japan demonstrates India's national consensus on combating terrorism. Despite political differences, the MPs are united in their stance against terrorism and Pakistan's role in promoting it. (ANI)

Although Indian refiners initially paused their Russian oil imports, officials from state-run Indian Oil and Bharat Petroleum have resumed purchases for September and October deliveries after the discounts on Russian crude increased. According to Rahul Kalantri, VP Commodities, Mehta Equities Ltd, crude oil prices showed sharp volatility but managed to recover from multi-month lows. ' The higher-than-expected drawdown highlighted signs of demand revival, encouraging buying in the market. In addition, ongoing Western sanctions on Russian crude provided a supportive backdrop for prices. We expect crude oil prices to remain volatile in today's session. Crude oil is having support at $62.35-61.80 and resistance is at $63.45-64.05 in today's session. In INR crude oil has support at Rs5,420,-5,360 while resistance at Rs5,540-5,600,' Kalantri said. HC asks Haryana government for SOP to identify ‘illegal Bangladeshis' after Gurugram detentions
The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Wednesday asked the Haryana government whether it had a standard operating procedure to verify the identity of migrant workers it was detaining, The Indian Express reported. Several Bengali-speaking persons from West Bengal and Assam were detained in Gurugram in July on suspicion of being undocumented Bangladeshi migrants. They were released after their documents were verified. The bench was hearing a petition alleging that several Indian citizens had been wrongly detained in Gurugram and held in inhumane conditions. The public interest litigation sought directions for the state government to frame a uniform procedure to be followed while identifying undocumented migrants. The petitioner said that the police in Gurugram had rounded up persons from minority groups, accusing them of being undocumented migrants, despite them having documents such as an Aadhaar card, a voter ID and ration cards to prove their identity as Indians. 'They were detained in community centres, sometimes in groups of two to three hundred, with no access to family members or lawyers,' the petitioner was quoted as saying. They were not released for days, even after the police and administration in West Bengal had certified that the persons who had been detained are Indian citizens, the newspaper quoted the petitioner as having claimed. The plea said that Haryana and neighbouring Punjab either do not have a verification procedure or it was being 'flagrantly violated', The Indian Express reported. In May, the Union home ministry directed states and Union Territories to verify the credentials of persons suspected to be undocumented migrants from Bangladesh and Myanmar. However, the petitioner said that the procedure referred to in the Union home ministry's instructions could not be found on its website. The counsel for the Haryana government defended the detentions, saying the police were acting in line with the directions of the Union government. The court directed the Haryana government to either produce a copy of the procedure being followed or file an affidavit stating that no such guidelines were available.
