Nandamuri Balakrishna won't replace Nagarjuna as Bigg Boss Telugu host. Nagarjuna's contract is renewed for Season 9.
Looks like all those whispers about Balayya storming into the Bigg Boss Telugu house as the new host were just… well, whispers! The internet's been buzzing with speculation that Nandamuri Balakrishna might be replacing Nagarjuna for Season 9 of the hit reality TV show. And after the lukewarm response to Season 8, fans were curious if the makers were shaking things up. But guess what? They're not.
According to a report by OTTPlay, the Bigg Boss Telugu team is sticking with their OG host Nagarjuna. In fact, they've already renewed his contract and reportedly paid him a pretty fat cheque to keep him on board. Nagarjuna's been hosting the show for six solid years, and his signature charm have become part of the Bigg Boss DNA.
There was also a moment when Vijay Deverakonda's name was thrown into the mix as a possible host, but that never materialised into anything official either.
The Telugu version of Bigg Boss kicked off its journey back in 2017 and has seen quite a few famous faces take the host's seat over the years. Jr NTR was the first to bring the heat in Season 1, followed by Nani who took over the mic for Season 2. Since then, it's been Nagarjuna at the helm, anchoring the show from Season 3 onwards with his trademark flair. Interestingly, Seasons 2 and 6 experimented with a mixed bag of contestants while blending celebs with common folks.
Now, all eyes are on Bigg Boss Telugu Season 9, which is expected to hit screens around September 2025. Word on the street is that Bumchick Babloo (aka Babloo), a well-known actor and comedian from the Telugu circuit, has already locked in his spot as a contestant, according to a report by 123Telugu.
