WWE WrestleMania 41 Results: Jade Cargill Wins Historic Match Against Naomi

Forbes20-04-2025

Jade Cargill beat Naomi in a highly entertaining grudge match that made WrestleMania women's history.
Naomi walked out to huge cheers, with new theme music. The lyrics form Naomi's music spoke of a 'warning,' which is on brand for Naomi's new caution tape-influenced character. Jade Cargill walked out after a 'WrestleMania Weather Report' with all the star power of the X-Men.
I will go to my grave saying Naomi's heel turn was better than John Cena's. Naomi singlehandedly seized the throne as the best performer in all of WWE and never looked back. Her emotional promo alongside a disheveled Bianca Belair was a peak into WWE's next era of Black Cinema. Oba Femi, Trick Williams, Je'von Evans and the stars of AfricaNXT will help WWE tell more unique stories that connect with The Culture like never before.
Naomi and Jade Cargill made history as the first ever women's singles WrestleMania match without a stipulation or title on the line. This means Jade and Naomi's storyline was historically great, to the point where they didn't need a reason to compete at WrestleMania outside of pure hatred for one another.
Naomi ran into a familiar problem in the wrestling business as her work as a heel was so good, it began to garner support. Naomi went Super Saiyan as a dedicated Twitter troll, Quote Tweeting Jade with every click. Naomi's act translated to real life, with a fiery appearance at WaleMania where she cut a profanity laced promo to the tune of cheers among the mostly Black crowd.
Now with a newfound love of caution tape, fans sided with Naomi over Bianca Belair as recently as Friday's SmackDown. There was also a pro-Naomi feel with the WrestleMania fans in Vegas. Naomi has had more opportunities to tell her story than Jade Cargill, and Naomi has ran with the opportunity as a deranged, albeit entertaining, heel.
But while Naomi shined in the ring, Jade Cargill shined brightest at WrestleMania 41. Jade and Naomi gelled perfectly in a match literally tailored to Jade's strengths. Jade pulled off a series of unique strong-woman spots. At one point she caught Naomi in midair in a suplex position. Some of these moves don't even have a name yet, but they will as Cargill adds them to her arsenal.
Moving forward, Bianca Belair will remain the X-factor as Naomi's heel character continues her descent into madness. Will Bianca lean into the heel reactions she's received of late, or will she stay true to her morals as a forever babyface in WWE?

‘Something Beautiful' Trailer: Miley Cyrus Makes Her Directorial Debut with Pop Opera Feature

Miley Cyrus has been a mega-star for more than a decade but now the multihyphenate is adding another talent to her resume: director. Cyrus helms her pop opera feature 'Something Beautiful,' making her directorial debut with the 'one of a kind' cinematic experience that is 'fueled by fantasy,' as the logline teases. Cyrus co-directs with Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter. 'Something Beautiful' will feature 13 original songs from Cyrus' ninth studio album of the same name. The film is mixed by Alan Meyerson ('Dune Part One,' 'The Dark Knight') for a theatrical release. 'Mandy' breakout filmmaker Panos Cosmatos produces along with Cyrus and XYZ Films, in collaboration with Sony Music Vision, Columbia Records, and Live Nation. Benoît Debie is the cinematographer. More from IndieWire Documentarian Sacha Jenkins Has Died: 'Louis Armstrong's Black & Blues' Filmmaker Started as a Journalist 'It Was Just an Accident' Wins the Palme d'Or at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival (Complete Winners List) ''Something Beautiful' is my dream project come true — fashion, film, and original music coexisting in harmony,' Cyrus said in a press statement. 'My co-creators are all geniuses in their own right: from the masters of sound, Shawn Everett and Alan Meyerson, to one of cinema's most unique directors, Panos Cosmatos serving as a producer. Each collaborator has used their expertise to make this fantasy a reality.' 'Something Beautiful' will have its world premiere June 6 at the Tribeca Festival. The film follows the trend of visual albums with feature accompaniments: The Weeknd recently debuted 'Hurry Up Tomorrow' starring Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan to coincide with his album as well. As for the 'Something Beautiful' team, producer Cosmatos has his own feature in the works starring another first-time female director, Kristen Stewart, whose 'The Chronology of Water' wowed at Cannes. Stewart will star alongside Oscar Isaac in Cosmatos' '80s-set vampire rave drama 'Flesh of the Gods,' written by 'Se7en' screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker. The film centers on married couple Raoul (Isaac) and Alex (Stewart) who descend each evening from their luxury skyscraper condo and head into an electric nighttime realm of '80s Los Angeles, per the official synopsis. When they cross paths with a mysterious and enigmatic woman and her hard-partying cabal, Raoul and Alex are seduced into a glamorous, surrealistic world of hedonism, thrills, and violence. 'Flesh of the Gods' will be the fourth collaboration between Cosmatos and XYZ, including 'Something Beautiful.' 'Something Beautiful' will be released in theaters for one night only on June 12 from Trafalgar Releasing and Sony Music Vision. Check out the trailer below. WWE's Mariah May Expected To Undergo Major Change: Report

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Mariah May made her impactful and long-awaited WWE debut on the June 3, 2025, episode of NXT. By doing so, she immediately inserted herself into the NXT Women's Championship picture. This surprise appearance came just days after her contract with All Elite Wrestling expired, where she was a former AEW Women's World Champion. The segment saw new NXT Women's Champion Jacy Jayne attempting to celebrate her title win over Stephanie Vaquer from the previous week. Her address was interrupted by a series of NXT women, including Thea Hail, Lola Vice, Lash Legend, Jaida Parker, Kelani Jordan, and Jordynne Grace, all staking a claim for a title shot, leading to a brawl. As chaos broke out, the lights dimmed, and a spotlight hit the crow's nest, revealing May. While WWE announcers did not mention her by name, May took the microphone with a clear message. "It's about damn time. I've wrestled all over the world, and it's only right that The Glamour arrives in NXT," May declared in a digital exclusive later posted on WWE NXT's X account. 8/25/24 AEW ALL IN - London, England 8/25/24 AEW ALL IN - London, England Lee South/AEW Despite her established "Mariah May" name, which is believed to be her real name, TC WrestleVotes reports that WWE will be getting a new name under the Stamford-based promotion once it's decided what it will be. This strategy often relates to WWE securing intellectual property rights for its characters. May, originally from the United Kingdom, was encouraged by WWE coaches to gain global experience after an NXT UK tryout in 2018. She made a significant name for herself in Japan with STARDOM, where she captured the Goddesses of Stardom Championship with Mina Shirakawa. She then joined AEW in late 2023, initially as Toni Storm's protégé, before winning the 2024 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament and defeating Storm for the AEW Women's World Championship at All In 2024. This is a title Storm later regained at Revolution 2025. Her arrival adds another major talent to NXT's stacked women's division, which also includes champion Jacy Jayne. "Now, they'll embark on a breathtaking adventure," the narrator continues. The rivals are forced by their circumstances to learn to work together.
