Katy Perry escapes major accident after prop malfunctions mid-air during concert, chilling video goes viral

Pop sensation Katy Perry had a close shave during her Lifetimes Tour performance in San Francisco, when a mechanical malfunction caused a giant butterfly prop she was riding to suddenly drop several feet while suspended over the crowd. The video of the incident is grabbing eyeballs on social media.
The incident unfolded during her performance of Roar. The viral video shows Perry singing atop the large, winged structure when it unexpectedly tilts forward, sending her slipping from her seat mid-song. The singer momentarily stopped performing as fans below gasped in shock.
However, the prop stabilised just in time, preventing a serious accident. Perry then quickly raised her hand to signal she was okay before resuming her performance.

The video quickly gained traction, triggering a conversation around safety of celebrities on stage. 'On the upside the taped song kept on going. Next up they'll replace these 'idols' with robots. It'll be cheaper, more consistent, and no problems with drugs and alcohol use,' a user wrote. 'I'm sorry that's actually so scary, when will artists learn to not use these types of props,' another user commented.
'For someone who blasted off into space I feel that drop was miniscule in comparison,' a third user reacted.
Later, Perry addressed the moment on her Instagram Stories, posting a blurry close-up of her expression, captioned, 'Good Night San Fran.'
This isn't the first time a high-profile stage prop has caused alarm. Last month, Beyoncé experienced a technical glitch during her Cowboy Carter tour stop in Houston. During her performance of 16 Carriages at NRG Stadium, a flying car prop began to tilt dangerously mid-air, sparking concern among fans.
Beyoncé was safely lowered to the stage. She later reassured the crowd with a smile, saying,
'If I ever fall I know y'all would catch me.'

Ashish Chanchlani BREAKS Silence After Elli AvrRam Faces Misogynistic Abuse: 'Disgusting, Pathetic'

Last Updated: YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani responds after Elli AvrRam faces misogynistic trolling over their viral Chandaniya promo post. YouTuber and actor Ashish Chanchlani has responded to the wave of online hate directed at actress Elli AvrRam after a promotional post for their upcoming music video Chandaniya led to a barrage of misogynistic trolling. The controversy erupted last week when Ashish shared a seemingly romantic photo of himself holding Elli in his arms with the caption 'Finally," sparking speculation among fans and followers that the two were dating. The post quickly went viral, only to be later revealed as part of a marketing campaign for their music video. However, what began as a cheeky promotional gimmick soon took an ugly turn. Several users, mostly strangers, began targeting Elli with crude remarks—some attacking her character, others stooping as low as making vile comments about her alleged 'body count," a term frequently weaponised online to shame women. In the days that followed, Ashish maintained silence, which only fuelled further backlash. Many felt he should have publicly condemned the abuse, especially since the post originated from his account. On July 20, a user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, 'Bhai seriously bol rha hu ekdum shit song tha and iske liye tune prank kiya and tere fans ne is bandi ka character assassination kiya and tu chup hai," directly calling Ashish out. Breaking his silence, Ashish finally responded. 'I wanna clear something before you all. Make no mistake. Those 'people' in my comments are not my audience/fans or followers. Half of them don't even follow me. It's a free platform and an open tweet, and all the disgusting things they said will never be supported or encouraged by me or my fans," he wrote. He added, 'My subs are not like this — anyone who has been closely following me for a decade knows what I preach in my fandom. Rest assured, it's pathetic what happened and I'll be addressing it soon." Despite this clarification, the tweet was deleted within hours. Still, screenshots of his post have gone viral across social media platforms, reigniting debate around accountability and gendered hate online. While Elli chose not to directly confront the trolls, she subtly responded through her Instagram Stories, sharing what appeared to be a DM that read, 'Your s*xiest body part is your mind," captioning it with, 'True story." A section of users, disheartened by the hate directed at Elli, came forward in her support. Many lauded her grace and composure in the face of online vitriol, while others urged creators like Ashish to be more proactive in calling out toxicity — especially when their collaborators are the ones being targeted. ‘Saiyaara': Mahesh Babu, Alia Bhatt, Arjun Kapoor and others shower praises on Mohit Suri's romance drama

The Saiyaarafever has truly gripped the tinsel town. Filmmaker Mohit Suri's intense romance drama, featuring debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has turned out to be one of the most pleasant surprises this year. The film has been garnering a lot of praise from within the film industry as well. On Sunday (July 20), Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu praised Saiyaara, calling it 'a beautifully made film with honest storytelling.' The star passed on his love to the two newcomer actors as well. 'Big love to #AhaanPanday & #AneetPadda for living their roles so effortlessly… This one deserves all the love coming its way…' wrote Mahesh. Take a bow #Saiyaara team…👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 What a beautifully made film with honest storytelling, standout performances and top notch execution….. Big love to #AhaanPanday & #AneetPadda for living their roles so effortlessly… This one deserves all the love coming its way… ♥️♥️♥️… — Mahesh Babu (@urstrulyMahesh) July 20, 2025 Meanwhile, Bollywood star Alia Bhatt penned a heartfelt note to the team behind Saiyaara. Praising Ahaan and Aneet, she wrote, 'I don't remember the last time I looked at two actors with such awe. With stars in my eyes… watching the stars in yours. You both shine with such individuality, such honesty — I could watch you again, and again, and again. (And let's be honest… I probably will.)' 'To the captain of this very wonderful ship @mohitsuri — what a film. What feeling. What music!!!!!!!! You made me feel things that only the movies can make you feel. Saiyaara is full of heart, full of soul, full of something that just stays with you… in the best way,' added Alia. On the other hand, actor Arjun Kapoor penned a sweet, emotional note on Instagram Stories. The actor said Mohit's film made him feel 'alive and vulnerable,' an that it relive so much from his own personal life. '@ahaanpandayy ur wait has been worth it so felt so raw so visceral terrific debut brother...@aneetpadda I'm a fan for life... u had me in awe while u spoke ur eyes ur vulnerability ur absolute honesty the way u looked at him made us love him & u more,' added Arjun, before wishing his best to the producers and the technicians behind the film. Meanwhile, the film is having a dream run at the box office, having collected ₹45.75 crores in its first two days of release. Netizens have taken note of how the film's strong opening is despite having almost no media buildup before its release. Suri has revealed that he wished to keep the opening pair away from pre-release promotions, like he did with his 2013 hit Aashiqui 2, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur, to ensure that the emotions on-screen felt more authentic. The move seems to have worked in favour of the film. The Hindu's review of Saiyaararead, 'With mental health as the villain of the piece, the story echoes the times when love is reduced to a lollipop by market forces. In the digital age, Mohit dials back to the pre-rom-com era, when heartache travelled through the screen on the wings of melodies, sacrifice was considered a virtue, and selfless love was celebrated.' Saiyaara is produced by Akshaye Widhani of Yash Raj Films.
