According to Capgemini, the tool enables financial services companies to migrate from so-called static KYC processes towards a 'perpetual' or fully-automated approach.
The sandbox provides a 'secure test environment' for firms to model and monitor the migration to a perpetual process and the potential benefits in terms of operational management.
One of these benefits, according to Capgemini, is a potential reduction in fraud give that a static KYC offers opportunities for fraudsters to engage in money laundering.
'Static KYC processes present opportunities for financial criminals to exploit gaps and weaknesses,' said Manish Chopra, global head of risk and financial crime compliance at Capgemini.
'The pKYC sandbox capability marks a significant advance for industry compliance, meeting regulators' growing expectations of responsible innovation.'
KYC compliance has become a costly and time-consuming process for firms ever since its introduction.
The launch of the KYC sandbox comes weeks after Capgemini acquired Dutch regtech Delta Capita as the French firm looks to expand its portfolio of financial crime and compliance products.

EXCLUSIVE Roman Abramovich's Chelsea sale, the jaw-dropping inside story: War zones, a poisoning, why Volodymyr Zelensky DIDN'T want Russian tycoon sanctioned ...and how club was days from extinction

Roman Abramovich 's trusted aide Marina Granovskaia was ready to play what would have been possibly the riskiest game of chicken ever by ignoring the May 31, 2022 deadline set by the UK Government for Football Club to be sold – or else. We will never know how serious they were, whether Boris Johnson 's administration would truly have allowed one of the game's global giants to go into oblivion.

German Cars Out: What's Behind a Big Shift in Car Enthusiast Searches?

Auto market volatility could explain surprising trend among car enthusiasts New data from MOTORMIA, a platform helping auto enthusiasts plan and complete car modifications with AI, has highlighted searches for German vehicles as declining 52% during April year-over-year. German cars represented one-third of MOTORMIA's site searches last April. During this same year-over-year period, searches for U.S. cars increased by 89%. MOTORMIA users begin each search with a car model instead of a brand or country, and the site's data was drawn from over 100,000 U.S. users. The AI-powered vehicle modding platform noted that its users' searches for Japanese cars remained relatively consistent. According to Reuters, big three German automakers, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Volkswagen, accounted for 73% of the European Union's (EU) vehicle exports to the U.S. last year, so MOTORMIA's decline in German car searches could indicate hesitation among American buyers as a market reaction. 0:00 / 0:09 Tesla sales in Europe drop yet again Watch More Source: MOTORMIA Isaac Bunick, CEO at MOTORMIA, told Autoblog: 'This new data from MOTORMIA shows a clear shift in sentiment from car enthusiasts towards German cars. Last year, over a third of the car models our users searched for were from German brands such as BMW, Porsche, or Mercedes. This April, under 18% of car searches on our platform began with a German model, a dramatic 52% decrease. Whether it's the result of tariffs or American patriotism, within the same time frame, searches for U.S. car models from brands such as Ford and GM nearly doubled, and in April this year, they accounted for 38% of all car searches on MOTORMIA. Within the context of what is happening in the automotive industry, our data seems to be reflecting the current market behavior. This month, BMW reported that its first-quarter profits for 2025 have fallen by 25%, while in parallel, U.S. brands like Ford or GM reported double-digit growth.' The latest on EU auto tariff negotiations Searches on MOTORMIA could shift back toward German automakers if the EU strikes a U.S. tariff offsetting deal. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said on Friday that he would pursue a deal where U.S. cars could be imported into Europe duty-free in exchange for tariff waivers on the same number of vehicles exported to the U.S., Reuters reports. The $44.25 billion in cars exported to the U.S. from Europe last year was more than four times the number of vehicles from the other direction. America is the European Union's (EU) fifth-largest vehicle export destination after China, Japan, Britain, and Turkey, but the U.S. is the largest export destination for German cars. Oliver Blume, head of Volkswagen Group, which includes Porsche, confirmed he spoke directly to the U.S. commerce secretary, Howard Lutnick, in Washington, according to The Guardian. Blume agreed to keep the conversation's details confidential. As MOTORMIA's U.S. vehicle searches increased, American automakers like Ford were experiencing significant domestic sales growth. Still, tariff negotiations between the U.S. and Germany could reignite consumers' interest in German cars, especially if they happen sooner rather than later, while many countries struggle to strike deals. BMW Will Make 5 Series Buyers Wait For New Looks And Tech

BMW's Executive Sedan Is Late For A Meeting With Buyers The current-generation G60 BMW 5 Series was officially revealed a little more than two years ago, on 24 May 2023, and in Bimmer land, that means it's starting to get a little old. BMW likes to put the latest and most advanced technology possible in each of its model updates, so the G60's now-obsolete rotary iDrive wheel and associated systems are beginning to feel a little 'last season,' so to speak. However, despite the fact that BMW's new Panoramic iDrive infotainment system was revealed six months ago, the 5er isn't getting its mid-cycle update, or Life Cycle Impulse, as early as planned. According to a reliable insider who provides updates on the Bimmerpost forum, the G60 LCI will arrive four months late. Comprehensive Changes To BMW's Product Plan According to the post, updates for June 2025 include moving the launch of the updated G60 from March 2027 to July. The same report claims that the next X5 (codenamed G65) will be in production until July 2035, which means it will need to satisfy the market for nine years, while the current F70 1 Series and F74 2 Series Gran Coupe will stick around two years longer than originally anticipated, until October 2032. Back to SUVs for a second, and the assumption is that the G66 X6 and G67 X7 will have similarly long production cycles. Finally, the same report says that the U.S.-spec Z4 M40i and both versions of Toyota Gazoo Racing's Supra will continue to be produced in Austria at the Magna Steyr facility for another two months, only ending production in May 2026. No reasons were given for these extended production cycles, but the ever-changing geopolitical environment may be a contributing factor. More Tech Will Dominate The 5 Series The new 5 Series will get the latest infotainment tech, says the forum post, adding that, along with Panoramic Vision, a passenger display will become an optional extra. On the outside, we expect the G60 facelift to wear a new face inspired by the Vision Neue Klasse and Vision Neue Klasse X concepts. The look has already become evident in spy shots of the next-gen M3, as well as the updated G90 M5 seen below, so it's inevitable that the 5er will make the switch too. Hopefully, BMW doesn't create a Russian Doll situation with its styling, but we'll have to wait a little longer to find out. With production only commencing in July 2027, we suspect the reveal will happen at the very end of 2026, if not early in January 2027. With all of that being said, it wouldn't be a surprise to see BMW at least mildly update the interior for 2026, unlocking earlier access to updated iDrive systems. Oops!
