King Charles Personally Requested an A-List Singer He Reportedly Called ‘Devastatingly Attractive' to Perform at His Funeral

King Charles is sick. That much is known. But he was also the oldest person to succeed to the British throne at the age of 73. That means that, from the beginning, the expectation was that his reign wouldn't last nearly as long as his mother's. And as preparations for succession are being made, one important part is King Charles' funeral. Now, reports indicate the King is set on one particular singer performing at his funeral.
The King has reportedly requested Barbra Streisand perform at his eventual funeral. A place insider told #ShuterScoop that the 'request is real. He's always adored her — and this would be a deeply personal farewell.'

Streisand writes about their connection in her memoir, 'My Name Is Barbra.' The two reportedly first met when King Charles visited Los Angeles in 1974 and stopped for a visit at Warner Bros. Studios, where Streisand was recording music for Funny Lady.
'The prince was utterly charming when he came to the studio, but frankly, it's hard to have a real conversation when you're surrounded by fifty photographers snapping pictures,' Streisand wrote in her memoir. 'I was drinking tea and offered him a sip… and the future king of England actually drank from my cup, which was apparently unprecedented. When the British press reported on this, they turned it into the equivalent of an international incident.'
According to the singer, King Charles asked her what kind of tea she was drinking, and she told him it was Constant Comment. She also wrote, 'I couldn't think of anything else to say, and I'm so work oriented that I was feeling guilty about all those musicians who were waiting for me to get on with the session. So I'm afraid I wasn't as gracious as I should have been.'

'The fact is, both Prince Charles and I are shy, but somehow we still managed to connect… because that proved to be the beginning of an unexpected friendship,' she added.
But that's not all, as apparently Charles's fascination with Streisand started way before they met. 'I was told that Charles has said I was his 'only pinup' (apparently he had a poster of me in his room at Cambridge), and he described me as 'devastatingly attractive' with 'great sex appeal.' Who knew?' Streisand shared in the book.
The singer went on to explain that the two reconnected in 1994 when she played several shows in London, including one benefiting his charity. The pair's 'extraordinary' friendship has lasted 'decades,' with Streisand even visiting the King's home, Highgrove, in 1995. According to Streisand, the two also regularly exchange birthday cards.
Recent reports about the King's funeral plans have shed light on where he stands with his youngest son, Prince Harry, after senior aides for the two met in what is considered a first step towards reconciliation. According to The Telegraph, the King has factored not only Prince Harry but also Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, into the heart of his funeral plans.
The plans even include Prince Harry walking side by side with his brother at the forefront of the processions through the streets of London.
As for Streisand, there is no confirmation as to whether she will perform at the funeral, but considering what Streisand herself has said about their relationship, it's not a leap to think she will.

How to get My Chemical Romance tickets for 2026 UK tour

The iconic emo band are bringing their Long Live The Black Parade tour to UK shores. My Chemical Romance are bringing their Long Live The Black Parade tour to the UK, with the band confirming the first dates for the band's return. The iconic emo band are celebrating the upcoming 20th anniversary of their breakout hit album The Black Parade with a worldwide tour. The band are in the midst of touring in North America and have already announced tour dates for South America and South East Asia. Here is what MCR fans need to know about the band's return to the UK, their first tour dates in the country since 2022. How to get tickets to My Chemical Romance's 2026 UK tour My Chemical Romance have announced two dates so far for their UK tour, with the band set to perform at London's Wembley Stadium on Friday 10 July and Saturday 11 July, 2026. Tickets for the show will be available to purchase at 10am on Friday, 15 August on Ticketmaster, as well as on AXS and Gigs and Tours. There is not currently a pre-sale option for the tour, so fans of the band who wish to see the group will all have to try their luck on Friday. The two stadium dates are also the only UK tour dates the band has announced so far. The group had been teasing a UK tour announcement for some time, sharing a quirky video of an old school game show called Quizzo that declared the country that had won a "nuclear winter" was the UK. Wembley Stadium then teased the MCR logo and the 'Long Live The Black Parade' poster on Sunday, 10 August ahead of the official announcement on Monday. The teaser is very much in line with the band's tour, which has seen the band create their own language and lore around a fictional country that has served as inspiration for the Long Live the Black Parade tour and has given it a rock opera feel thus far. As part of the new tour the band are performing their breakout 2006 album The Black Parade in full as well as a number of rare songs from their back catalogue. My Chemical Romance last toured the UK in 2022 as part of their reunion tour, they performed in Milton Keynes, Cornwall, Dublin, Warrington, Cardiff and Glasgow at the time. It is currently unclear if more UK tour dates will be announced for 2026.

Christopher Biggins condemned over ‘grabbing women' remarks

Christopher Biggins has been called out after attempting to defend sacked MasterChef host Gregg Wallace with the admission that he used to 'grab women' while working on sets. The 76-year-old pantomime actor bizarrely joked that his past conduct towards women would've landed him in 'prison' if he did it today. Biggins, who also appeared on Celebrity MasterChef in 2014, claimed that this type of misconduct was not uncommon 25 years ago and was considered 'affection'. Speaking to The Sun, he said: 'Years ago, I would approach a woman from behind and grab her... Well, I'm gay, so it didn't matter. And I'd like to still be doing it, but I don't think I can anymore. 'If I were to do that now, I'd be put into prison. Twenty-five years ago, we were all doing it. It was a thing of affection.' He continued: 'Everybody is now terrified. I wouldn't want to be a comedian. I think comedians have a really tough job.' Refuge ambassador and former Love Island star Sharon Gaffka told the publication: 'Touching someone without their consent, regardless of the context, is never funny.' The Independent has contacted Biggins' representatives for comment. His remarks come after he revealed that he had reached out to Wallace and his family following his departure from MasterChef. 'I love Gregg and I love his wife,' he explained during an appearance at the National Reality TV Awards. 'I've tried to get hold of her because they must be going through a terrible time, because suddenly careers are vanishing, it's so wrong.' Wallace's position on MasterChef was deemed 'untenable' last month when an investigation into historical misconduct upheld 45 of 83 allegations against the presenter, including claims of inappropriate sexual language and one incident of unwelcome physical contact. Meanwhile, John Torode, who had presented MasterChef alongside Wallace since 2005, was sacked just a day later, as the same report upheld a complaint against him involving 'an extremely offensive racist term'. The latest series of MasterChef, which is presented by Wallace and Torode, premiered this week. The heavily edited first three episodes were made available on BBC iPlayer and appeared to feature fewer jokes and interactions between the hosts and contestants. Some viewers said they felt 'conflicted' seeing the hosts on screen following the accusations against them. One contestant, Sarah Shafi, agreed to be edited out of the series after objecting to it being broadcast over concerns that it sent the wrong message to women. The BBC later revealed that news about the show had an impact on ratings, as the launch show was watched by just 1.96 million, as opposed to the 2.73 million who watched last year's debut episode. The fact that this series launched in August, rather than in the usual April slot, may also have affected the viewership. Solve the daily Crossword

Oasis fan proposes to thrilled girlfriend during favourite song at Murrayfield gig

It's a moment diehard Oasis fan Shell Hodge will never forget. While the band was performing her favourite song, Slide Away, her beloved partner of six years Dwayne Yuill got down on one knee and proposed at a sold-out show in Edinburgh on Friday (August 8). Thrilled Shell, 40, said: 'I was singing along and the next thing Dwayne's on one knee holding out a ring. I wondered what the hell was going on at first because I couldn't hear anything above the music. 'When I saw the ring, he didn't need to say anything. I just said 'yes' and we're both over the moon.' Shell said: 'We're both massive Oasis fans and we managed to book the tickets to see them in Edinburgh on my 40th birthday last year. 'We'd talked about getting engaged before, but usually when we were drunk. 'Dwayne really took me by surprise but his timing couldn't have been better. It was just perfect.' Dwayne, 38, added: 'I'd asked Shell's two older children a couple of weeks before if they'd be okay with me asking her to marry me. 'I knew the Oasis gig would be the perfect place to do it and I wanted to wait until our favourite song came on. 'I was on the edge of my seat with nerves until then. I got down on one knee and started singing the chorus 'now that you're mine'. 'It's just a song that means a lot to us. 'I didn't actually say the words 'will you marry me', but it was pretty obvious. 'Folk around us started getting their cameras out and taking photos of us. 'We've been through so much together and I wanted a proposal to be memorable. She means absolutely everything to me.'
