DU to come out with 3rd allocation list on Aug 13
New Delhi: Delhi University has confirmed the allocation of over 71,000 undergraduate seats following the release of the upgraded admission list. The third allocation list is set to come out Aug 13. This comes after the university reopened its upgrade window from Aug 2 to 3, allowing students admitted in earlier rounds to reorder their college and course preferences. After releasing the second allocation list for UG admissions on July 28, the university opened an upgrade window on Aug 2, allowing students admitted in the first and second rounds to rearrange their preferences. The first list for ECA, Sports and CW quotas will be announced on Aug 15. The admission cycle will conclude on Aug 19. Of these, 34,069 applicants applied for an upgrade, while 35,889 opted to freeze their choices. As a result, 5,930 students received upgraded seats based on their revised preferences. The current round of college verification and fee payment will continue until Aug 7. Following this, the university will announce a list of vacant seats on Aug 8, opening the door for mid-entry applications. This option is meant for candidates who either missed applying through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) or failed to complete the second phase of the admission process. The mid-entry window will remain open from 5pm on Aug 8 to 4.59pm on Aug 10.

SRCC Placements 2024-25: 19% increase in offers, Rs 36 lakh highest package
The Placement Cell of Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), University of Delhi, announced today that students received over 520 placement offers across diverse roles and industries. The total value of offers stood at Rs 51.5 crore, marking a 19% increase compared to the previous year. According to the data shared by the college, this year's hiring cycle saw a notable increase in offers extended to students, and the overall gross package value. More than 120 internship offers were extended during the season, with the gross value of these internships reaching Rs 57.2 lakh. The highest monthly stipend was Rs 2.2 lakh, and the average stipend rose by 12.5% from the previous year, according to the placement cell's data. New academic session begins at Delhi University The 2024–25 placement season drew interest from recruiters across more than 15 sectors, including consulting, finance, investment banking, private equity, e-commerce, and startups. Organisations that participated in the recruitment process included McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Company, Blackstone, Nomura, Deutsche Bank, DE Shaw, FTI Consulting, Accenture Strategy, AB InBev, Kepler Cannon, and Meesho. SRCC is among DU's top-performing colleges in placements and admissions. In the first round of seat allocations for the 2025–26 academic session, it emerged as one of the top choices for commerce aspirants across the country. Alongside Hindu College and St. Stephen's College, SRCC recorded some of the highest cut-offs based on Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores. For BA (Hons) Political Science, Hindu College recorded the highest cut-off this year at 950.58 out of 1,000 in the General category. Other top humanities programmes included BA Programme (History + Political Science) at Hindu College (936.18), English (Hons) at St. Stephen's College (926.93), Psychology (Hons) at Lady Shri Ram College (926.53), and Political Science (Hons) at Miranda House (925.98).

Third round of DU's admission race begins with option of seat upgrade
New Delhi: The competition for a seat at Delhi University is far from over. The university has opened the third round of undergraduate admissions for the 2025–26 academic session under its Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS), offering multiple pathways for students to secure or improve their placements. This phase introduces several key features, including seat upgradation, mid-entry applications, and category-based admissions. Students who secured seats in the first or second rounds can now reorder their course-college preferences in hopes of obtaining a more preferred option. The window for upgradation and preference modification was open from the evening of Aug 2 and closed at 4.59 pm on Aug 3. The results of upgraded seat allocations will be announced on August 5 at 5 pm. Colleges will then begin the approval process, which will continue until 4.59 pm on August 6. Students allotted upgraded seats must complete the fee payment by August 7, 4.59 pm to confirm their admission. The vacancy list for the next round will be published on August 8 at 5 pm. Another important addition is the activation of category-based applications, allowing eligible candidates to apply under their respective reservation categories. With this phase, DU is working to make its admission process more accessible and inclusive—providing a second chance to late applicants while also refining seat distribution for those already in the system. Looking back at the second round of seat allocations, a total of 87,335 students were offered placements across various colleges and programmes. This included 24,843 new allocations and 27,314 upgradations, indicating considerable movement from the first list. At the same time, 17,922 candidates chose to freeze their existing seats.
