Martin Scorsese's Career Goes in Front of Camera for Five-Part Apple TV+ Documentary
Martin Scorsese will go from the director's chair to in front of the camera for an upcoming five-part documentary heading to Apple TV+.
Mr. Scorsese, directed by Rebecca Miller, is a film portrait of a man through the lens of his work, exploring the many facets of a visionary who redefined filmmaking, including his extraordinary career and unique personal history,' Apple TV+ said in a synopsis.

Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mick Jagger, Robbie Robertson, longtime editor Thelma Schoonmaker, Steven Spielberg, Sharon Stone, Jodie Foster, screenwriter Paul Schrader, Margot Robbie, and Cate Blanchett are among the collaborators interviewed for Mr. Scorsese, along with the 82-year-old director's children, wife Helen Morris, and close childhood friends.
While Scorsese has helmed dozens of documentaries on subjects like Bob Dylan, The Last Waltz, George Harrison, Fran Lebowitz, and love of cinema, Mr. Scorsese marks the first career-spanning documentary about the director himself.
'I am so grateful to have been given the artistic freedom and access to create a cinematic portrait of one of our greatest living artists, Martin Scorsese,' Miller said in a statement (Miller is married to Daniel Day-Lewis, who starred in Scorsese's Gangs of New York and also appears in Mr. Scorsese).
'His work and life are so vast and so compelling that the piece evolved from one to five parts over a five year period; crafting this documentary alongside my longtime collaborators has been one of the defining experiences of my life as a filmmaker.'
Apple TV+ has not yet announced the release date for Mr. Scorsese.
