'The Devil Wears Prada 2' slated for 2026
The sequel for "The Devil Wears Prada" is a go! According to Deadline, Disney has officially set a May 1, 2026 release date for the film. Previous reports said the movie will center on Miranda Priestly, played by Meryl Streep in the first film, as she struggles with the waning of traditional magazines. Meanwhile, Emily Charlton, played by Emily Blunt in the first film, is now a powerful executive for a luxury group. "Devil Wears Prada" was adapted from Lauren Weisberger's 2003 novel of the same name. The film also starred Anne Hathaway. It has not been confirmed if the three actresses will reprise their iconic roles. Actor Stanley Tucci recently told Variety, "I know they're working on it. If it happens, I would be so happy, but I cannot give you any information. Otherwise, I'll go to the actor's prison or something. [The original] was one of the best experiences ever." —JCB, GMA Integrated News
