Harry Potter film ranked as worst but fans definitely don't agree

The Harry Potter movies have finally been ranked from best to worst
Rotten Tomatoes has compiled a ranking of the entire Harry Potter film series, including the Fantastic Beasts spin-offs. While the top spot may come as no surprise, the lowest-ranked film has left some fans perplexed, with one commenting: "The rating of this absolutely confounds me."
The final instalment, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, emerged as the highest-rated with a 96% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. On the other hand, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald fared poorly, securing only 36% in review scores.

Despite its star-studded cast, including Eddie Redmayne, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, Zoë Kravitz, Ezra Miller, Alison Sudol, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Callum Turner, Claudia Kim, William Nadylam, and Kevin Guthrie, the David Yates-directed film was met with lukewarm reception from critics.

Penned by JK Rowling, the sequel to the 2016 film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them failed to captivate critics, with one reviewer stating: "The Crimes of Grindelwald's lack of awareness goes much deeper than a mere miscasting."
A particularly scathing review went as far as to compare the experience to "About as exciting as a trip to Hogwarts's most neglected lavatory."
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, released in 2018, marks the second instalment in the Fantastic Beasts series and tenth overall in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, reports the Mirror US.
Set in 1927, the film charts the journey of Albus Dumbledore and Newt Scamander as they devise a plan to defeat Gellert Grindelwald, the formidable dark wizard who poses a significant threat in this universe.
The narrative unfolds against a backdrop of escalating tensions and unexpected challenges, depicting a wizarding world more fractured than it has ever been.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald managed to rake in roughly $654.9 million globally at the box office, against its estimated $200 million production cost, earning it the distinction of being the least successful Harry Potter film financially – a record it maintained until the release of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore in 2022.
The film earned two BAFTA nominations for Best Production Design and Best Special Visual Effects. Its sequel, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, hit cinemas in April 2022.

Penned by JK Rowling, the screenplay of the film was released as a book titled Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald - The Original Screenplay, following the precedent set by its predecessor, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Audiences were more lenient than critics in their assessment of The Crimes of Grindelwald, with one fan commenting: "This is probably my favorite of the fantastic beast movies.
"I love the in depth characteristics and that you see what's going on in the characters heads for each decision that they make. As well this movie was made to be for the older fans that younger fans could still enjoy."

One viewer raved about the film with enthusiasm: "The rating of this absolutely confounds me lol this movie is so good! ! Of the 3 this is probably my favorite.
"The story is lovely, acting is great, special effects, all of it. I particularly loved how they tied multiple characters and storylines to the Harry Potter series.
"Overall it's just really pretty and exciting so I have no idea where all the negativity is coming from." A particular fan disclosed their unique standpoint: "Unpopular opinion but I think this movie was the best of the series to date.

"It had tons of magic, intensity and most importantly a great story." Someone else recommended ignoring any harsh criticism: "Beautifully shot, wonderfully written, and some fantastic performances.
"Forget the negative reviews, this is worth watching."

'Mind blowing' Netflix shows that'll disappear soon and kids will be majorly upset

As we have seen in the past, Netflix chiefs have been busy clearing through the archives and are about to put some hugely loved shows and iconic films on the scrap heap Netflix flix bosses have been rummaging through their archives and are set to bin some much-loved shows and iconic films, likely to the dismay of many fans. ‌ It's not unusual for the streaming service to do a monthly clear-out, making room for fresh and thrilling original content. However, this means bidding farewell to other major shows and films on the platform - some of which have received glowing reviews from fans and near-perfect scores on Rotten Tomatoes. ‌ August has seen quite a purge, with the platform preparing to discard several Oscar-winning films and highly-rated series, which may come as a shock to viewers. If you were planning to catch up on eagerly anticipated series or schedule a film weekend with loved ones, you'll need to act quickly. Time is running out for some fan favourites due to leave Netflix sooner than you might expect. ‌ Ugly Betty and Gangs of New York are among the series set to depart, while blockbuster hits like Dunkirk and The Lego Movie are also on the chopping block, reports the Express. A Discovery of Witches In 2018, A Discovery of Witches arrived on the streaming giant and has been a hot topic among fans ever since. The series, starring Dept Q actor Matthew Goode, Teresa Palmer, and Edward Bluemel, has topped the charts. ‌ The narrative centres on the unlikely bond between a vampire and a witch as they decipher the mysteries of a book about mythical creatures. Despite numerous hints at a fourth series, it never materialised and now the supernatural sensation is set to depart on 19 August. Gangs of New York The Sky Atlantic production, set in London, portrays the city in chaos following the assassination of one of the most influential leaders of an organised crime group. ‌ Its third season has just concluded on Sky, however, the first two series were both broadcast on Netflix, with previews debuting for audiences back in 2020 and 2022 respectively. These will also be leaving the platform on 19 August. Dunkirk One of the most unexpected departures in the Netflix clearout is the three-time Academy Award-winning film Dunkirk. ‌ Christopher Nolan's war epic, set during World War II and starring Fionn Whitehead, Jack Lowden and Harry Styles, depicts the evacuation of soldiers from the British Empire, Belgium and France as they endeavoured to escape the town of Dunkirk amidst a gruelling battle with German forces. In 2018, the film received widespread acclaim and even bagged three Academy Awards. Despite its success, Netflix has decided it will also be archived. From 1st August, Dunkirk will no longer be available for viewing on the platform. ‌ Ugly Betty This particular departure might shock devoted viewers, particularly given that this series remains endlessly rewatchable without ever losing its appeal. Rather than following the usual mid-month removal pattern that allows subscribers time for a final binge, Netflix bosses have opted for an immediate exit. The title will vanish from the platform tomorrow, August 1st. ‌ Viewers who act swiftly tonight might just manage to squeeze in one last viewing of their cherished episodes before bidding farewell. Interview with the Vampire This certainly isn't a film enthusiasts will want to overlook. The production earned widespread acclaim from both critics and audiences, achieving a near-flawless Rotten Tomatoes rating with an outstanding 98% score. ‌ The 1994 gothic horror masterpiece, helmed by director Neil Jordan, draws inspiration from Anne Rice's 1976 novel sharing the same title. One enthusiast gushed: "This show honestly blew me away! The flow of this story is so memorable despite never reading the book series,I went into the show blind and knowing a few details about the source material and it exceeded everything I thought I knew about vampires." Despite garnering exceptional praise, Netflix executives have determined it's time to part ways, with the film departing the service on 19 August. The Lego Movie ‌ Youngsters and families worldwide will be heartbroken that one of their treasured films has also landed on the chopping block, despite remaining a firm favourite amongst countless children. The streaming behemoth has also confirmed that The Lego Movie will soon be relegated to its site history and will no longer be available for viewing. It does seem a peculiar time to remove this 2014 childhood favourite, particularly as most children in the UK are currently on their summer holidays and likely looking for classic films to stream. Regrettably, it's already been decided that the film, which stars Chris Pratt and was once hailed as the best animated film of the year, will disappear from Netflix as of 1st August. Kung Fu Panda 4 Another blow for families during the summer break is the impending departure of the latest instalment of the Kung Fu Panda franchise. However, there is a bit more time for those hoping to catch one last viewing. The film, featuring Jack Black, Viola Davis and AwkwafinaIts, has been given an exit date of 21st August. In previous sequels, big names such as Angelina Jolie, Lucy Liu, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen and David Cross played key roles, but none of them returned for the fourth instalment.

Boy George hits out AGAIN at JK Rowling and claims Harry Potter movies are 'nothing to do' with the author as he insists pair will NEVER agree in ongoing war over trans rights

Boy George has once again hit out at JK Rowling and insisted to Daily Mail that the pair will never agree or bury the hatchet amid their ongoing war over trans right. The culture club icon, 63, has expressed support for transgender people online, alongside other stars such as Tilda Swinton and Pedro Pascal, who earlier this year branded the Harry Potter author a 'heinous loser'. Now in his latest put down George, real name George Alan O'Dowd, praised the 'amazing' movie versions of the author's wizarding novels, before pointing out her 'lack of involvement' in the films, which were adapted by other screenwriters. Rowling, 59, has faced intense criticism from LGBTQ + activists and several stars of the Harry Potter films, including Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, after publicly expressing concerns about gender ideology and single-sex spaces. With her comments branded transphobic by some campaigners. He told Daily Mail: 'Do I love her films? Yes, her films are amazing. I love Harry Potter and I've read all the books, they're brilliant,' 'But remember she didn't make the films, a lot of brilliant people were in the films, like the actors, and everyone to do with it, it's just not about her'. He went to say how important it was to be 'be nice' claiming that the majority of those who are concerned about trans issues 'don't know anything about it'. 'JK Rowling doesn't know any trans people, I do. Since I was 16-years-old I've known trans people. I know people with trans kids,' 'And April Ashley – who was the first women to transition in this country. She died a couple of years ago, and I photographed her – she was amazing'. Before adding: 'Everyone that talks about the trans thing, isn't trans. JK Rowling isn't trans, does she even go to the toilet? '. He later went on to claim that he would happily choose Donald Trump over Rowling, despite the President's own controversial views on trans issues and his own 2006 conviction in New York. '[Me and Trump] share the same birthday. Ask me a question, Donald Trump, or JK Rowling, I'd pick Donald Trump any day'. George pleaded guilty to falsely reporting a burglary at his NYC apartment and was ordered to sweep rubbish from the streets for a week as part of his community service. He has now said that he has even been attempting to get a US visa, despite fellow LGBTQ+ celebs like Rosie O'Donnell and Ellen DeGeneres leaving to live in Europe. 'I love America though. I'm trying to get a visa, not the opposite. I don't want to not get a visa, you know what I mean? I love America'. He continued: 'I have to say, years ago when I got arrested in New York, and I had to sweep up, I kind of didn't want to go back, and my little mum – God rest her soul – she said, 'You love America, and they love you"'. Earlier this year Rowling engaged in a furious war of words with the Karma Chameleon frontman after he accused her of hating men following the Supreme Court 's ruling on the legal status of transgender women. Rowling, who also writes under the male pen name of Robert Galbraith, hit out the singer after he said that she could not tell the difference between a transgender woman and a biological man. Responding to a tweet suggesting that Marvel star Pedro Pascal - an outspoken supporter of trans rights - was a misogynist, the singer wrote: 'Stop this nonsense that if you don't agree with @jk_rowling you hate women. She hates men. This is where this truth lies. 'She cannot differentiate between a 'trans' woman and a biological male. Which is weird with her imagination?' But Rowling - who now tweets almost daily about what she has called 'sex-based rights' - fired back with an eye-rolling emoji and the retort: 'I do not hate men.' She wrote: 'I'm married to a man, George. I do not hate men. 'I simply live in reality where men - however they identify - commit 98 per cent of sexual assaults, and 88 per cent of victims are female. 'Trans-identified men are no less likely than other kinds of men to pose a risk to women or girls.' Boy George was responding to a tweet criticising Pedro Pascal. The actor (above) has been unequivocal in his support for transgender people (seen in the viral 'Protect the Dolls' t-shirt sold in support of trans rights) She did not elaborate on how many of those committing sexual assaults were thought to be trans. She then added: 'Accusing me of hating men because I don't think trans women should be given access to all women-only spaces does rather suggest that... you're well aware that these are, in fact, men.' Rowling has been vocal on the subject of trans people for several years; in 2018, a spokesperson explained that her 'like' of a tweet calling trans women 'men in dresses' had been a 'middle-aged moment'. And following the Supreme Court judgment on April 17, Rowling has consistently referred to transgender women as being 'men'. The ruling, on an appeal brought by campaign group For Women Scotland, concluded that the legal definition of a woman was that of a biological female, when interpreting the Equality Act.

The Horn Milk Bar, near Errol, Perthshire It's not every day that you get to eat in a retro-style diner with a giant plastic cow on the roof, so seize the opportunity should you happen to be traversing the A90. Owned and run by the Farquharson family since 1960, the Horn Milk Bar lays claim to what is 'officially the best bacon roll in the world' (it won an online poll a few years back). This roadside restaurant has serious fashion credentials too: it appeared in a Vogue photo shoot. (Image: The Horn Milk Bar) If you're in the mood for a daunder, you're not too far from the Taybank Circuit, which starts and finishes in nearby Errol, around a five-minute drive away. This 4.25-mile (7km) loop leads down to the edge of the Tay, with tranquil views across the reed beds and tidal flats. The Pitstop at Kintail, Aultachruine, Glenshiel With gorgeous lochside views, The Pitstop at Kintail is well-worth swinging off the A87 to visit. This rustic cafe has both indoor seating and picnic tables outside. The mighty burgers are a mainstay of the menu, alongside hearty soups and mammoth scones. When it comes to a meander, you're spoiled for choice from the wildlife-packed trails around Loch Duich to exploring the magnificent Falls of Glomach – and not forgetting the classic Five Sisters of Kintail ridge walk with its trio of Munros. For those looking for a substantial meal, there are yummy homemade pizzas, as well as savoury pastries, pastas, soups and ice cream. As for walks? You're on the famed West Highland Way and stand at one of the most exalted junctions in Scotland, with Glen Coe and Fort William to the north and Oban to the west. The Pitstop – Tartan Bus, near Inverurie, Aberdeenshire This eye-catching eatery, also known as the Tartan Bus – or still fondly referred to by regulars as 'Roy's Bus' after its original, now-retired owner – is a delight to pop into if you're heading along the A96 between Aberdeen and Inverness. (Image: The Pitstop) Best described as a bus-diner – reminiscent of the catering vehicles used on film and TV location shoots – you can pull up a pew at one of the cosy tables and tuck into breakfast, hot-filled rolls, toasties, burgers and chips. You're only a couple of miles from The Maiden Stone, a Pictish cross-slab dating from around 700 AD, which can be viewed with a short detour off the A96. According to legend, a young woman was turned to stone after losing a bet with the devil. The Glen Cafe, St Mary's Loch, Borders Located beside the A708 between Moffat and Selkirk, The Glen Cafe sits beside St Mary's Loch and the smaller Loch of the Lowes, occupying a superb perch on this picturesque section of road.
