Did This Wild Carnival Cruise Brawl Really Happen Over Chicken Tenders?
Footage recently surfaced from a wild brawl that took place on a Carnival Cruise ship, but the origin is contentious. The person who recorded the fight initially said it was over chicken tenders, but later added more context to the situation. There were about two dozen people throwing fists aboard the Sunshine around 2 a.m. on Monday (Aug. 18). Their cruise was heading back to Miami after departing last Thursday (Aug. 14) and making two stops in the Bahamas. However, given the intensity of their brawl, they were far from enjoying some R&R. 'Where the f**k is security?!' one bystander yelled while the participants punched each other, slammed people on the floor, and threw shoes. Multiple security guards attempted to break the fights up, though one seemingly knew it was pointless and instead evaded the violence while trying to use his radio to call for help. Mike Terra, a content creator from the Bronx, recorded the madness and turned the camera on himself to capture his reaction. 'Over chicken tenders is crazy,' he said. He captioned the video 'I always hear carnival is ghetto/ratchet I been cruising for years but this my 1st time seeing some action on a ship I was on YNs was tripping.' Later on, he engaged with some people who commented on his video, saying that the brawl was an 'isolated incident' and was caused by more than just chicken tenders. 'We weren't close enough to know why [the fight] really started, we just knew they were in line for food,' Terra told The New York Post. Now, factoring in how powerful human hunger can be late at night, the frustration that comes with waiting in a line, and how easily someone can be triggered as a result of both of those things, it is easy to run with the idea that chicken tenders sparked such violence. Or, at least more entertaining.
