Video of fight involving teacher at DeKalb school being used in investigation
The Dekalb County Schools Superintendent responded Tuesday to a video of students fighting a teacher that has gone viral.
The fight happened April 22 at Martin Luther King Junior High School.

The superintendent said there was a verbal altercation before what was seen in the video and an attempt to break up a disagreement, Channel 2's Candace McCowan reported.
The camera picks up what happened next, and it is now being used in the investigation.
You can see the teacher being punched, others trying to break it up and then other swings from students and the teacher himself.
Three students have been charged with battery and disrupting public school. The teacher is on administrative leave during the investigation.
Superintendent Devon Horton and Principal Michael Alexander laid out what they are doing to prevent fights like this one, like mentors and de-escalation training.
Horton spoke about the three students who are now facing charges.
'I don't support them being criminalized. I do not,' he said. 'Every student deserves an opportunity, right? And I will say they are some factors that we are aware of that could have prevented this, and so we are looking into that right now.'
One of the students involved just moved to the district a month ago. He wasn't in the mentoring program.
There were parents have raised questions about the incident, concerned about what they saw and what they want to see happen.

A Gwinnett County man convicted of killing a father at a baby shower will spend life in prison after a judge sentenced him Friday. Angel Mendoza-Ramirez and his family went to a baby shower two years never expecting it to end with a murder. The family has waited all this time for justice. Mendoza's family asked for life without parole. 'Angel was not just my husband. He was my best friend, my partner in life, a loving father to our children. He was our provider, our protector, the center of my family,' Mendoza's wife Marisol Aranda said. Mendoza died in 2023 when prosecutors say Avila-Vega shot and killed him for taking his gun away during tense moments at the family event. Mendoza's wife and some of his children delivered tearful impact statements, including his 10-year-old who spoke about his father's final words to him. 'On the last day, on the day of the baby shower, I had a game, and the last thing he said to me is, 'I'm so proud of you,'' he said. In the end, two families are forever changed by one violent night. 'I will forever have a void that will never be filled. The defendant made a choice that he will never be forgiven for,' Mendoza's daughter, Vanessa, said. Avila Vega himself stood up and apologized to Mendoza's family before his sentence. Man accused of injuring north GA deputy, ramming into patrol vehicle found hiding under camper bed
After nearly 48 hours on the run, a man accused of ramming into a north Georgia sheriff's office patrol vehicle and injuring a deputy is back behind bars. Jonathan William Harris, 34, was arrested late Thursday night after a store employee recognized him and called 911. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] Surveillance video captured Harris leaving the store in a Kubota side-by-side, which investigators found abandoned a short distance away. Investigators then tracked him to a camper parked in the yard of a home. Harris was found hiding underneath a bed in the camper. He had two guns with him and two more in a bag. The manhunt for Harris started early Wednesday morning when a Habersham County deputy pulled over Harris and the truck pulling a trailer he was driving near Toccoa because the trailer had two flat tires.
