Scheierman's Celtics teammates weren't letting his big game pass without a celebration
Baylor Scheierman's Boston Celtics teammates were not going to let his big game pass without a celebration. The Creighton alum had himself a career night against the Brooklyn Nets on this past Tuesday (March 18) night at TD Garden, putting up an impressive 20 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals on 7-of-8 shooting (including the Nebraska native hitting 6-of-7 shots from beyond the arc) overall.
In Scheierman's first-ever walk-off interview with the legendary Jackie MacMullan, the Celtics rookie shooting guard got the traditional mid-interview shower of water in appreciation for his breakout performance against the Nets that night when his number was called for Boston.
The folks behind the "NBC Sports Boston" YouTube channel put together a clip catching it on video for us to watch later. Check it out below!

Is Tyrese Haliburton is a better closer than Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum?

Is Tyrese Haliburton is a better closer than Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum? Star Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton is a better closer than Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum or Oklahoma City Thunder Most Valuable Player Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Or at least that is the case that was made by Mike Felger and Tony Massarotti on a recent episode of their eponymous "Felger and Mazz" show on their sports radio channel "98.5 The Sports Hub." And given what we have seen from Haliburton with the Pacers so far in the 2025 NBA Playoffs, there is a case that Hali is indeed a better closer than Tatum or SGA. But does his elite clutch capabilities in one playoff run really put him over these two established stars? The folks behind the "98.5 The Sports Hub" YouTube channel put together a clip from Felger and Mazz's recent debate on the topic. Check it out below to get their takes on whether Hali really is a better closer.

Jaylen Brown's Message to Denver Nuggets Star Catches Attention

Jaylen Brown's Message to Denver Nuggets Star Catches Attention originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown will have more responsibility than usual next season. The 2023 NBA Finals MVP will presumably step into a first option role while Jayson Tatum recovers from achilles surgery. Advertisement Selected No. 3 overall in the 2016 NBA Draft, Brown was joined by Tatum the next season when Boston also selected him third. The two All-NBA wings have been paired together ever since, leading the Celtics to several deep playoff runs and their 18th championship banner. In addition to his accomplishments on the court, Brown has served as Vice President of the NBA Players Association's Executive Committee since 2019. Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown (7)Kevin Sousa-Imagn Images This role has been fitting for Brown, as the Celtics star is regularly showing support for other players around the league. On Friday, Brown sent a message to Denver Nuggets star Aaron Gordon that has caught the attention of NBA fans. Advertisement Making his first post since being eliminated by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Semifinals, Gordon shared a series of photos with a simple caption. "See the vision ✅ see it through," he wrote. This post tallied over 56,000 likes and 800 comments, including one from Brown who kept his message to a single emoji. "🐐," the Celtics star commented. Gordon himself replied with a single emoji: "@fchwpo 🫡," he wrote. This message caught the attention of NBA fans who reacted to Brown engaging with Gordon on Instagram. "@fchwpo ❤️," one replied. "Bay goats🐐🐐," said another. "741 Vision #JUICE," one added. Advertisement "the energy shifter," said another. Celtics GM Sends Clear Message After Cooper Flagg News

Former Duke star Cooper Flagg is unanimously considered to be the first overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft next month. The team that won the lottery turned out to be the Dallas Mavericks. Pending any trades, they will pick him. However, that won't stop teams from talking to him before he gets drafted. Even if the odds aren't high that the Mavericks will pass on Flagg, every NBA team can talk to him before Draft Night. Advertisement That includes the Boston Celtics. On Friday, it was reported that the Celtics chatted with Flagg ahead of the draft, despite being well out of the lottery (via Yahoo Sports' Kevin O'Connor). Former Duke Blue Devils forward Cooper Flagg (2)Robert Deutsch-Imagn Images The Celtics have no chance of drafting Flagg pending any surprise trades in the coming weeks, but that didn't stop them from conversing with him. During his end of season press conference, Celtics' President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens briefly addressed the news of his team meeting with Flagg. "The people we know we can't get in to work out are the people we talk to at the combine, or else we might never talk to them," he said. Flagg is a Maine native who grew up rooting for the Celtics and went on public record saying Jayson Tatum is his favorite NBA player. His ties to New England, on top of his talent, would make him appealing for the Celtics to chat with. Advertisement Even if the Celtics won't draft him this June, that doesn't rule out that he could join the team a few years down the line, whether via trade or free agency. Some NBA stars in the past have gone back home to play for their hometown teams, like Dwyane Wade and Dwight Howard.
