DRUCC members seek more passenger amenities, extension of trains
Chaired by Sudeshna Sen, DRM and Chairman of DRUCC, the meeting, held at the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM)'s Conference Hall, Rail Vikas Bhavan, focused on a range of issues raised by the committee members. Key topics included the improvement of passenger amenities such as coach indication boards at various stations in the Guntur Division, introduction of new trains, demand for train stoppages, changes in train timings, and matters related to Road Over-Bridges (ROBs) and Road Under-Bridges (RUBs).
Ms. Sen briefed the gathering on the ongoing Amrit Station development works across the division and noted that doubling and expansion work is under way in the Nandyal-Nallapadu section, with enhanced amenities planned.
DRUCC member G.V. Narayana Reddy sought extension of the services of Guntur-Tirupati train up to Arunachalam for the benefit of devotees. Officials said they would discuss the matter with the Guntakal division authorities, since the stretch from Tirupati to Arunachalam falls under their jurisdiction.
R.K. Narasimham wanted the Guntur-Aurangabad train to run up to Nagarsole and Shirdinagar. For this, the officials informed that they would discuss with the Nanded division authorities.
N.Md. Jubair Basha sought extension of the train services from Nandyal to Nagarsol to Shirdinagar.
The DRUCC members have also made several other proposals.
While the branch officers addressed the issues pertaining to their jurisdiction, the matters beyond divisional authority were recommended for escalation to Railway Headquarters.
G.V. Narayan Reddy was elected by DRUCC members as the Zonal RUCC representative from this division. K. Simon, Additional DRM, and other officials were present.

Railways takes out ‘Tiranga' rally
Patna: A team of railway officials, led by Danapur divisional railway manager (DRM) Vinod Kumar, organised a 'Tiranga' rally within the railway colonies in Khagaul on Tuesday morning. The event was held as part of the nationwide 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign aimed at encouraging citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes on Independence Day . Danapur senior divisional commercial manager Abhinav Siddarth said the rally commenced from the DRM's office premises with participants carrying the tricolour and marching in unison through the colony. "The railway officials, RPF, NCC and scouts joined the procession reflecting a collective spirit of national pride and unity," he said. Speaking on the occasion, the DRM emphasised the significance of the campaign in fostering a deeper connection between citizens and the national flag. "The Tiranga is not just a symbol of our freedom but a reminder of the sacrifices made by countless heroes. Tiranga campaign at Bhagalpur station
Bhagalpur: Aimed at promoting patriotic values, the railways organised 'Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign-2025' at Bhagalpur railway station under Malda railway division of Eastern Railway (ER) on Tuesday. Divisional railway manager (DRM), Malda, Manish Kumar Gupta, who supervised the campaign at various railways stations under Malda division, said 'Tiranga campaign' and cycle rally were taken out to disseminate the message of patriotism and national pride among the citizens. SCR officers, employees participate in ‘Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign
South Central Railway (SCR) officers and staff of Vijayawada division took part in the nationwide campaign of 'Har Ghar Tiranga' in Vijayawada on Thursday (August 7). The campaign is organised from August 2 to 15 across Indian Railways. Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Mohit Sonakiya appealed to the staff to encourage people to hoist the National Flag at their homes and celebrate the Independence Day. National Flag should be displayed at all railway stations, offices and homes echoing the spirit of patriotism, Mr. Mohit Sonakiya said. Students and staff of Jack and Jill School, Kendriya Vidyalaya (Vijayawada) and ICON Public School, carrying the National Flag, joined the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' celebrations. The DRM lauded the commitment of railway employees and their role in building the nation. Later, rangoli competitions were organised on the occasion.
