Dwyane Wade is re-entering the basketball arena—this time, not as a player but as a broadcaster. Wade has teamed up with Amazon Prime Video as an analyst for their debut season of NBA coverage, which is set to start in October.
This new position represents an exciting phase for the Basketball Hall of Famer, who will infuse his on-court insights and vibrant enthusiasm into the broadcast booth alongside a talented team curated by Amazon.
Dwyane Wade joins
NBA on Prime
to reunite with former rivals
Wade is thrilled to return to the game in a fresh capacity. In an interview with TODAY.com, he shared his excitement about joining the NBA on Prime crew: "When you retire, you're not a part of a team anymore. You're not in a locker room like that anymore.
So it'd be good." He's super excited to reconnect with the team vibe, this time with other former players he battled during his stellar career. Wade also mentioned how pumped he is to call games from courtside, saying, "I like just the natural reaction, being able to be the mind of the listeners, in a sense, being able to bring them to the game with understanding what they're about to watch or what they're watching.
"
This isn't Wade's first time in broadcasting.
Prior to this role, he worked as a studio analyst for TNT and commentated on U.S. men's basketball games at the Paris Olympics for NBC with Noah Eagle. Looking back on that experience, he mentioned, "I had a great time doing that with Noah Eagle in the Olympics, and so I want to continue that as well. So those things excite me."
Amazon's 11-year deal with the NBA marks a major shift
Amazon's adventurous leap into NBA broadcasting is part of a bigger trend in how fans watch sports.
The company has secured an 11-year contract with the NBA, indicating a strong commitment to live sports to increase Prime Video subscriptions. This isn't merely a trial run—Amazon is fully committed, and their investment in a premier broadcast team emphasizes their desire to compete with established networks.
Kicking off on October 24, the coverage will feature a doubleheader during the opening week, setting the stage for what could be a game-changer in sports streaming.
Besides the regular-season games, Amazon's package also includes the NBA Cup in-season tournament and conference finals series every other season, making sure there's no shortage of basketball action.

For fans, it's a moment to see a legend back in action—not holding a ball, but wielding a microphone, offering insights that only a Hall of Famer can deliver.

IND vs ENG: 'Why not declare after Ben Stokes' hundred?' - Sunil Gavaskar slams England's 'loud talk'

Sunil Gavaskar, Shubman Gill and Ben Stokes (Images via Getty Images) India's gritty draw in the fourth Test at Old Trafford sparked a heated exchange between the two teams and now, Sunil Gavaskar has added fuel to the fire with a scathing assessment of England's tactics and attitude. The veteran India batter and commentator praised India's resilience after they were reduced to 0/2 in the second innings, eventually finishing the final day with just four wickets lost thanks to centuries from Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! "I'm enormously proud of this team for what they've done. Just four wickets down. Yes, whatever the pitch might have been — good pitch, flat pitch, whatever it is — to stick around there under pressure,' Gavaskar said on Sony Sports Network. The Indian batters' decision to bat on even after the result was clear evidently irked England. Skipper Ben Stokes handed the ball to Harry Brook, who was hit for a six by Jadeja as he celebrated his hundred. When Brook offered a handshake to Sundar soon after, the batter appeared to ignore it. Ben Stokes press conference: On handshake controversy, India fightback, his own fitness England players were seen taunting the Indian duo, reportedly questioning whether Jadeja wanted to get to his hundred against Brook and Duckett. Gavaskar, however, turned the tables. He questioned England's own tactics, especially their delayed declaration. 'The question can be asked — did England bat too long before they declared?' Gavaskar said. 'When India gave them 600-plus to chase in Birmingham, some England players said they were scared. But in India, they said 'Give us 600, we'll chase.' So what happened now? India gave you 600, and you fell 336 short. That was just bravado. Just loud talk.' He also took a dig at Stokes' post-match defence that he was resting his bowlers ahead of the final Test at The Oval. Poll Do you think England's tactics were questionable during the fourth Test at Old Trafford? Yes, they were poorly planned. No, they had a solid strategy. 'So now, Shubman Gill — if he's at the media conference — I'd like him to ask: Why did you take a lead of 311? Why not declare at 240 or 250 after Stokes got his hundred? Give your bowlers an extra hour to take wickets. I hope he asks that,' Gavaskar said. 'I know he won't. He's too nice a guy. He's not like this SG (Sunil Gavaskar). That SG (Shubman Gill) is different. But this SG 100% would have asked at a media conference. And I'm asking now. ' Gavaskar's fiery words only add to the charged atmosphere between the two sides and the pointed challenge to England's approach ahead of the series decider. Stephen Curry gets real about his ‘surreal' friendship with the Obamas

NBA and American politics haven't always been the most interconnected of worlds, but when they do meet, they have proven to deliver beautiful friendships in return. One such example would be the close bond Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry shares with former President Barack Obama and his family. Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry opened up on his bond with the Obama family.(AP) Stephen Curry opens up on close bond with the Obama family During a recent appearance on 360 With Speedy, Curry opened up on his bond with the Obama family while discussing the launch of Plezi: a flavored drink company run by him in collaboration with former First Lady Michelle Obama. When asked if he shares a close relationship with them, Curry replied, 'As you can imagine, there are uh there are levels to what it means to be a part of the Obama family. But they're accessible. Let's put it that way." 'The friendship is there. The mentorship is there. President Obama's been an unbelievable voice for me in terms of certain things. I can just call him, ask him a question. He's always hyping me up on the court and to have now something that we get to do with Michelle, something that she's passionate about for a while. It has taken her time to develop a product, and she stands behind it.' It's still surreal to even talk like that, but those are good people to be partners with. For sure. They are amazing people, and it's been cool to get to know them over the years,' he added. Barack Obama's association with basketball During his time in office, President Obama was a huge fan of the sport himself. He would frequently host private games at the White House featuring some of the best players in the league. He was an ardent supporter who encouraged the sport and shared a close relationship with many players, Curry being one of them. By Stuti Gupta

IND vs ENG 5th Test: Stuart Broad, Nasser Hussain push for England to make a bowling change at The Oval

England lead the five-match Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2-1 going into the fifth Test at The Oval. (AP) Former England pacer Stuart Broad suggests resting Jofra Archer for the upcoming fifth Test against India at The Oval to manage his workload ahead of the Ashes series in Australia. Archer, who recently made his Test comeback after a four-year absence, has impressed with five wickets at Lord's and four more in Manchester. Archer marked his return to Test cricket at Lord's with a wicket on his third delivery and continued his form into the fourth Test at Manchester. "We can't not have Archer for four years, bring him back and then bowl him into the ground and not see him for another four years," Broad said on Sky Sports. England's pace attack has seen Brydon Carse and Chris Woakes featuring in all four matches, while Archer has played two consecutive Tests since his return. India managed to draw the fourth Test in Manchester through centuries from Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar, and Ravindra Jadeja, setting up a series decider at The Oval starting Thursday. England has several pace options available for the final Test, including Gus Atkinson, Sam Cook, Josh Tongue, and Jamie Overton. "I think Gus Atkinson has to play. I know he has not had any workload, but we need to see him. He hasn't been really challenged against top-level opposition in Test cricket yet," Broad said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Villas For Sale in Dubai Might Surprise You Villas in Dubai | Search Ads Get Info Undo "Carse looked knackered in the fourth Test. He has been a trier and given absolutely everything, but looks like his legs have left him for this series, so Atkinson gets the nod. Tongue started the series, and I know he mainly got lower-order players out, but you probably have a natural replacement for Archer." Former England captain Nasser Hussain supported Broad's view regarding Archer's workload management. "I don't think you can have Archer playing three on the bounce coming back after four years," Hussain said. "Gus Atkinson coming back after a long time, and then Stokes with a niggle as three of your four seamers - but I would definitely play Atkinson on his home ground if fit," he added. The Ashes, to be played in Australia, is scheduled for November. Catch Rani Rampal's inspiring story on Game On, Episode 4. Watch Here!
