King Charles pens personal note to Joe Biden following his cancer diagnosis; Here's what the monarch said
King Charles has written a personal letter to Joe Biden following the former US president's diagnosis of an aggressive form of prostate cancer, according to Buckingham Palace.
A source informed the Mirror: 'Given the King's own battle, he wasted no time in offering his support. When Charles was first diagnosed, Biden was still in power and did not hesitate to reach out to the Palace to offer his support.'
In July 2023, Charles welcomed the then-president Biden for tea and discussions at Windsor Castle, and they also met during the Cop26 summit in Glasgow in November 2021. The king is still receiving treatment for his own cancer diagnosis, but the details about the type of cancer has never been revealed.
People reports that the contents of the message have been kept confidential.
According to his personal office, the 82-year-old politician and his family are evaluating "treatment options with doctors' to fight his 'aggressive' cancer that includes 'bone metastases.' The illness 'seems to be hormone-sensitive, allowing for effective management,' the statement elaborates.

In September 2022, Biden participated in Queen Elizabeth II's funeral. He and his wife, Jill Biden, represented him at the King's Coronation. After the disclosure of his cancer diagnosis, Biden posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, along with a photo with his wife and their cat, Willow.
'Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places. Thank you for lifting us up with love and support,' Biden wrote.
Several political figures have rallied to extend their best wishes to Biden for a swift recovery.
'Joe is a fighter—and I know he will face this challenge with the same strength, resilience and optimism that have always defined his life and leadership,' stated former Vice President, Kamala Harris, on X.
Taking to X, former President Barack Obama mentioned that 'No one has done more than Joe to find innovative treatments for cancer in all its forms.'
'and I am certain he will meet this challenge with the determination and grace that characterize him,' he added.
While Trump and First Lady Melania also wished Biden 'a speedy and successful recovery', the President expressed doubts over his disease, saying 'It takes a long time to get to stage 9,' confusing his cancer diagnosis.
Joe Biden's cancer is a stage 4 condition with a Gleason score of 9, indicating a high level of aggressiveness.

On May 27, a division bench of Justices Gauri Godse and Somasekhar Sundaresan criticised the college's hasty decision. 'Somebody expresses something, and you want to ruin the life of a student? How can you rusticate?' the bench remarked. 'Prima facie, we find the rustication order was issued without giving the petitioner an opportunity to respond, and it requires to be suspended.' A separate bench of Justices Makarand S Karnik and Nitin R Borkar on Monday directed the college to revisit the matter and pass a fresh order in accordance with the law, ensuring the student is granted a fair hearing.

Wazahat Khan, complainant against Sharmistha Panoli, arrested by Kolkata Police
Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], June 10 (ANI): Wazahat Khan, who had complained against social media influencer Sharmistha Panoli for posting an alleged communal video, has been arrested by Kolkata Police for allegedly spreading hatred and hurting religious sentiments, police said. According to Kolkata Police, the accused was arrested on Monday evening from Amherst Street police station in connection with a case registered against him under sections 196(1)(a), 299, 352, 353(1)(c) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) at Golf Green police station. Khan had filed a complaint against Law student Sharmistha Panoli, who was arrested by Kolkata Police from Gurugram for allegedly hurting religious sentiments through her comments on social media. Earlier, a complaint was filed against Wazahat Khan Qadri, the man whose FIR led to the Law student's arrest. Prasun Maitra, NGO president from North 24 Parganas, lodged a police complaint accusing Wazahat of repeatedly posting abusive, anti-Hindu posts on X. In his complaint to the Kolkata Police and Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), Maitra said, 'This is to draw your attention to the following tweets (now deleted) by one Wazahat Khan Qadri Rashidi with the identity of X handle of @rashidi_wazahat hurting religious sentiments of millions of Hindus across the globe. The screenshots of the tweets are enclosed.' 'Your (Kolkata Police) recent activism shows that you are very much against such communally instigating posts and determined to enforce the rule of law. In view of the above, you are requested to initiate appropriate legal action against the person described above, in line with your recent activities and as per the law of the land, so that your integrity doesn't come under any question,' he said in the complaint. This came after Panoli, in an Instagram clip, allegedly made derogatory remarks towards a particular religion. She later deleted the video and issued an unconditional apology. However, she was remanded to judicial custody till June 13. On Saturday, Panoli was produced before the Alipore Court in Kolkata, which remanded her in judicial custody for 14 days. According to the Kolkata Police, several attempts were made to serve legal notices to Panoli and her family, but the attempts were unsuccessful because Panoli and her family absconded. Subsequently, the court issued an arrest warrant, based on which she was arrested from Gurugram on Friday night. (ANI)
