Punjab Kings Vs RCB: Durex Goes Risqué With Bold ‘2 Virgins' IPL Final Ad
Last Updated:
IPL 2025 Final: With neither team winning IPL before, Durex's bold ad sparks memes and banter.
The IPL 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings is making headlines not only because of the immensity of the match but also for the viral memefest it has sparked.
Sexual wellness brand Durex, known for its condoms and cheeky marketing, dropped an ad that's setting social media on fire.
In a clever double entendre, Durex captioned its post: '18 years and 2 virgins. Who will get lucky?". These captions were a playful dig at both teams, neither of whom has ever won an IPL title in the league's 18-season history.
The ad was quick to go viral on Instagram soon after it was posted. Durex shared it on its Instagram page with a caption that also amused social media users: 'First times are always special! Who are you rooting for?"
@TravisbickleCSK, an X user, commented sharing the ad: 'Durex always delivers". The post has over 1.3 million views. The original Durex ad has 201,354 likes.

'Well played Durex paaji," commented user _aneesqureshi. 'Durex you got best employees," akshayr0807 commented on Instagram. People on X called it 'marketing gold" and others joined the meme-fest.
RCB, with star-studded squads over the years, has reached the finals three times but always fallen short. Punjab Kings made it to one final in 2014, only to finish runners-up. Durex's wink at this long-running drought and the promise of 'finally getting lucky" struck a chord with fans who've waited years for a trophy.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru huffed and puffed to 190 for nine in the Indian Premier League final against Punjab Kings, unable to apply scoreboard pressure on a conducive surface here on Tuesday.
While RCB were not only a tad conservative in the big final, luck also did not favour the fourth-time finalists chasing their maiden trophy a great deal, as each of their batters perished after getting a start.
And there were no fireworks on the night of the big final as Virat Kohli (43), looking to anchor the innings the way he has done in the past, perished after his laborious effort in the middle to say the least.
Durex just made the IPL final a whole lot spicier with their risque ad. Now all eyes are on Ahmedabad: not just to see who wins, but who finally breaks the curse.

Malaika Arora shares high-energy workout for lower abs that shapes and strengthens the core
Malaika Arora's snatched waist and abs at the age of 51 have everyone swooning and buzzing with curiosity about her fitness routine. She recently took to Instagram to treat her fans to a glimpse of her hardcore ab workout session, sweating it out with impressive dedication and energy. Let's unpack the exercises one by one so that you can include them in your own core workout routine. ALSO READ ON HEALTHSHOTS: Want to burn belly fat? Eat these 10 fruits to shed the extra kilos A post shared by Malaika Arora (@malaikaaroraofficial) Malaika Arora shared an ab workout video on June 5, captioned, 'Your core is your power center—train it like it matters. 💥Try it out! 💪' The video featured leg lifts that, according to her, help 'sculpt lower abs.' She adeptly rested her elbows on the mat, while in a controlled manner, maintaining correct posture and keeping her legs straight, lifted both legs together towards the ceiling, perpendicular to the floor. This classic core move not only targets the lower abdominal muscles but also engages the hips, improving the mobility and the overall lower body flexibility. Malaika labelled the workout as 2x:30, which means 2 sets of 30 reps. Given the vigorous stamina required for the leg lifts, back or hip pain also benefits from this. To elevate the core endurance, you can increase the time, adding more reps. A post shared by Malaika Arora (@malaikaaroraofficial) Let's take this moment to revisit one of her earlier ab workouts, too. Previously, Malaika shared an ab workout which she called the 'hardest ab workout you will ever try.' She posted it back in August 2024, indicating that ab workouts have been a consistent part of her fitness routine. The exercise featured in this video is the Side V-Up. It is performed while lying on one side on the mat, with the legs stacked on top of each other and the bottom arm placed on the floor for support. The other hand, which holds a dumbbell, is extended upwards. The movement involves simultaneously lifting the torso and legs, creating a mild V-formation with the extended arm and legs. This exercise engages multiple core muscles-especially the obliques, which are located on the sides of the abdomen. Simone Biles calls out Kylie Jenner over hilariously oversized Khy blazer: ‘This is a crime!'
Simone Biles is not a fan of Kylie Jenner's clothing line Khy's sizing. The Olympian took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a hilarious selfie, in which she is seen wearing an oversized faux leather blazer. She called the outfit's fitting a 'crime' before comparing the comical look to a meme featuring Gigi Hadid. 'Ms. kylie Jenner this is a crime !!!!!!' Biles captioned the photo shared on her Instagram Story. In the mirror selfie, the 28-year-old is seen drowning in a deep red outerwear. She followed up with an overly edited photo of Hadid wearing a larger-than-life Vetements hoodie. 'This is me on the last slide, SICK,' she wrote, comparing the two oversized garments. Despite ordering the smallest size, the blazer did not fit Biles, who is 4'8" tall. 'This is not an XXS/S,' the 7-time Olympic winner added. The Khy jacket is priced at $138 and comes in three different colours: merlot, honey, and black. It has five sizes: XXS/S, S/M, L/XL, 2X/3X, and 4X. 'I Was Overpaid': RCB Legend AB de Villiers Stumps Former India Cricketer
Last Updated: AB de Villiers had a memorable stint playing for RCB from IPL 2011 to 2021 as he scored nearly 4500 runs in 157 matches. Former India cricketer Abhinav Mukund made a startling revelation on the legendary South African player AB de Villiers, who told him he felt 'overpaid" during his stint with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. De Villiers' humble remarks stunned Mukund as he cited the man's words to revisit the IPL 2025 auction where a prudent decision ultimately helped RCB lift their maiden trophy. Mukund recalled how RCB went as far as Rs 23.50 crores to try and sign Venkatesh Iyer but stepped back that enabled them to get proven match-winners in Josh Hazlewood and Phil Salt. While KKR bagged Iyer for a whopping Rs 27.50 crores, RCB picked their spearhead Hazlewood (Rs 12.50 crore) and attacking opener Salt (Rs 11.50 crore) at reasonable amounts. Iyer failed to justify the price-tag with just 142 runs in 11 innings, but Hazlewood and Salt played instrumental roles in ending RCB's title drought with 22 wickets and 403 runs, respectively. 'I was sitting next to AB de Villiers and he told me something that I don't think any legend in the IPL has said. But he genuinely meant it, he said it from a place of emotion. He said 'I was overpaid'," Mukund said on Star Sports. 'I'm overpaid, I thought I was overpaid because I feel like all of the other elements that you're talking about, right?" 'Where you're able to buy so many other superstar players, all those match winners you're talking about. The highest amount of money that they spent was for someone like Phil Salt or Josh Hazlewood. They didn't cross 15 (crores)." 'Looking back, RCB must be relieved they didn't go all the way for Venkatesh Iyer. He was their last unsuccessful bid, and right after that, they picked up Josh Hazlewood, Jitesh Sharma, and Phil Salt. Those three turned out to be key signings. Plus, by not overspending, they had enough money left for day two to bring in someone like Bhuvneshwar Kumar. It clearly showed they had a well-thought-out plan to build a balanced squad," he added. Joining RCB for Rs 5 crores in 2011, AB de Villiers spent the next 10 seasons playing for the popular franchise as an explosive and high-impact player. The right-hander was retained by the RCB for Rs 7.5 crores at the 2014 mega auction and then again for Rs 11 crores apiece ahead of the 2018 and 2021 seasons. First Published: June 05, 2025, 15:12 IST
