'Alien: Earth' to launch with companion podcast
July 11 (UPI) -- FX is teasing Alien: Earth - The Official Podcast, its upcoming podcast to accompany the release of its new series Alien: Earth, both arriving Aug. 12.
Adam Rogers will host the podcast, interviewing creator Noah Hawley, as well as cast members for behind-the-scenes details about the TV show.
Alien: Earth stars Sydney Chandler, Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, Adrian Admondson, David Rysdahl, Essie Davis, Lily Newmark, Erana James, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Kit Young, Diem Camille, Moe Bar-El and Sandra Yi Sencindiver.
A previously released trailer follows Neverland Research Island facility residents as they attempt to capture dangerous missing aliens.
Alien: Earth is a prequel to the 1979 film Alien.
FX is also teasing immersive images and scenes for Apple Vision Pro users that offers "a more engaging way to discover set details, character profiles and narrative elements."

There may be some Emmys on the menu once again for The Bear. The FX comedy series closed out nomination morning with 13 nods, including Best Comedy Series and Best Comedy Actor for Jeremy Allen White. Nominated this time around for 2024's Season 3, The Bear is following up a strong second season, for which it earned 23 nominations, winning 11 total at last September's ceremony. ‘The Bear' Season 3 Receives 13 Emmy Nominations, Including Historic First Directing Nom For Ayo Edebiri
The Bear is once again an Emmys darling, scoring another 13 nominations Tuesday morning for its third season, including a historic one for Ayo Edebiri. That brings the FX series' total to 49 Emmy noms across three seasons. Over the course of the first two seasons, The Bear has taken home 21 golden statuettes. Notably, in addition to a third consecutive nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Sydney Adamu, Edebiri was also recognized in the directing category. Watch: KJ Apa, Madelyn Cline star in rom-com 'Map That Leads to You'
July 15 (UPI) -- Outer Banks actress Madelyn Cline and Riverdale actor KJ Apa star in the new romantic comedy The Map That Leads to You. Prime Video released a trailer for the film, which arrives on the streamer Aug. 20, Tuesday. The teaser shows Jack (Apa) and Heather (Cline) meeting on a train and connecting instantly. Heather is traveling Europe with her friends, while Jack allows his grandfather's journal to dictate his next destination. His go-with-the-flow persona "kind of stresses" out Heather, who declares that she prefers "to know what's next." "As secrets and life choices test their bond, her path changes forever," an official synopsis reads. The film takes its inspiration from the J.P. Monniger novel and is directed by Lasse Hallstrom, well known for working on Dear John. Madison Thompson, Sofia Wylie and Orlando Norman also star.
