The Colorado Bureau of Investigation issued a Medina Alert for a black 2021 GMC Sierra Pickup, similar to the one pictured, in a hit-and-run near Ball Arena during the Avalanche playoff game.

According to investigators, a black 2021 GMC Sierra Pickup struck a pedestrian on a scooter at Speer Boulevard and Wewatta Street in Denver. The driver drove away after the crash.
The driver is described as a Hispanic female, approximately 40-50 years of age with a medium build and long brown hair. Investigators said she was wearing dark clothing at the time.
She was driving a black 2021 GMC Sierra Pickup with a black topper and Colorado license plate 83LARA.
Anyone who knows about the vehicle or driver or witnessed the crash is asked to call 911 or the Denver Police Department at 720.913.2000.

An Irvine man faces hate crime charges after he allegedly threw a hot cup of coffee at a man and beat an elderly driver while shouting racial slurs. The Orange County District Attorney's Office described suspect Robert Tackett's actions as "hate motivated attacks" against two Hispanic men. Prosecutors charged Tackett, 54, with four counts related to the assaults, including inflicting injury on an elderly adult. He faces a maximum of eight years in state prison if convicted on all counts. He's being held at the Orange County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail. "Hate is a venom that poisons everything – and everyone – it touches. An attack motivated by hate is not an attack on just a single individual; it is an attack on the very fabric of our society and our community as a whole," Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer said. The two alleged assaults happened on July 22 in two Orange County cities. In the morning, Tackett allegedly followed a garbage truck driver through Irvine on Sand Canyon Avenue near the 5 Freeway. The Irvine Police Department said Tackett tried to run the other driver off the road while shouting racial slurs at him. The Orange County District Attorney's Office said he allegedly tried to crash into the garbage truck twice, but the other driver quickly slammed the brakes and avoided a collision each time. After intentionally trying to crash into the victim, Tackett allegedly threw a hot cop of coffee that landed on the victim's face, hands and car interior, according to Irvine PD. The second assault happened at around 5:30 p.m. in Westminster. Tackett allegedly got out of his work van while stopped at a light, repeatedly punched a 72-year-old driver through an open window and shouted racial slurs. The California Highway Patrol arrested Tackett in Mammoth two days after the attacks. "Every member of our society deserves to go about their days unafraid that they would be targeted because of the color of their skin, their gender, or their sexual orientation," Spitzer said. "We must collectively combat hate by speaking up and speaking out against hate – and haters – to continue to send a strong message that hate will never be tolerated here in Orange County or anywhere."

Charges unsealed for alleged shooter's brother in fatal Hammond shooting
Charges were unsealed Wednesday for the brother of an alleged shooter who ambushed and shot a married couple in a car. Alexis Cruz, Jr., 20, is charged with murder and attempted murder in the Sept. 14, 2024 death of Steven Gonzalez, 20, of Hammond. His wife was wounded. Cruz's brother Xavier Cruz, 18, is charged as the alleged shooter. Records allege Alexis was an accomplice. Police allege Alexis believed the woman stole a gun from him. Filings show he is in custody in San Antonio and is awaiting extradition. Hammond Police Detective James Onohan responded around 5:46 p.m. that evening to the 400 block of Huehn Street. Surveillance footage showed three males walking in a gangway toward the car. One of the men, a relative of the brothers, now 20, has not been charged to date in public filings. A third teen was a light-skinned Hispanic, with glasses, a Chicago Bulls baseball hat and wavy hair. 'He just smoked them,' Cruz's relative said after the shooting.

John Kennedy (R-La.) joined Fox News on Monday to dismiss the idea of legislation aimed at preventing gun violence, just hours after a gunman killed four people in an office building in New York City's Midtown Manhattan neighborhood. Kennedy told Fox News' Sean Hannity that 'all you can do in a time like this is be sorry' for the victims of the mass shooting before predicting that some of his colleagues will call for more gun control laws on Tuesday morning. Fox News 'We've got hundreds of gun control laws, Sean. Maybe thousands,' he said. He later added, 'We don't need more gun control. We need more idiot control. And I don't know exactly how to do that but I do know this — I don't want to hear anyone feeling sorry for this guy who did this.'
