Zak Crawley leads Northern Superchargers to dominant win over London Spirit
That, though, never looked likely to be enough as Crawley's 55 off 38 set the Superchargers on their way before captain Harry Brook saw his side home with 18 balls to spare by slapping a boundary over mid-on – to finish unbeaten on nine from three deliveries.

After Spirit opener David Warner had fallen for a four-ball duck and former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson was out for just 10, Smith edged the home side on to 70 for three at the halfway stage.
Pope hit three boundaries in his half-century and Ashton Turner added a swift 28, but still left the Spirit well short of a competitive target.
It proved anything but, with Dawid Malan making 22 in a first-wicket stand of 63 before Dan Lawrence's rapid 37 supported Crawley's onslaught as the Superchargers closed out a fourth win from six games to move level on 16 points with champions Oval Invincibles and Trent Rockets.

In the men's Hundred at Sophia Gardens, Southern Brave battled to a four-run win over Welsh Fire to end their three-match losing streak.
Hilton Cartwright struck an unbeaten 51 to help Brave push on to 129 for eight, before paceman Jofra Archer took three wickets and then Chris Jordan held his nerve on the final delivery as Fire came up just short at 125 for eight.
Welsh Fire's bowlers had earlier made the most of the favourable conditions, with Matt Henry returning two for five from his 20 balls after dismissing Leeus du Ploy (two) and Jason Roy (four).
Brave skipper James Vince (29) then helped his his side recover to 53 for three, before Australian Cartwright went on the attack – hitting five sixes as he reached a 19-ball half-century.
Jonny Bairstow (22) spearheaded the Fire's run chase – hitting Craig Overton for two fours and a six in the first set.
With 20 balls left, Fire needed 27 to win and had three wickets in hand – but Tom Kohler-Cadmore (25) holed out in the deep leaving Jordan to close out his final five and get Brave over the line.
Earlier, in the women's Hundred, Southern Brave overcame some outstanding bowling from Jess Jonassen to edge out winless Welsh Fire by three wickets with just one ball remaining as they made it six wins out of six in the Hundred.
Chasing 112 for victory in Cardiff, the Brave got off to a solid start as England pair Maia Boucher and Danni Wyatt-Hodge put on 48 for the opening wicket, but they then ran into trouble in the form of Jonassen.
After taking the catch of Wyatt-Hodge off Georgia Davis, Jonassen – on her way to figures of four for 10 – accounted for Boucher (35) and Laura Wolvaardt to leave the visitors on 57 for three.
The Brave stabilised but another late flurry of wickets saw them go from 98 for three to 107 for seven before Georgia Adams got the winning runs off Davis, as the Brave secured a top-three finish.
In the women's match at Lord's, Northern Superchargers secured an eight-wicket win over London Spirit to leapfrog their hosts and move second in the table.
The Superchargers started well with the ball. Grace Ballinger and Kate Cross each took a wicket in their first 10 deliveries as Spirit opener Kira Chathli was out for a three-ball duck.
Nicola Carey then dismissed Grace Harris and Dani Gibson in consecutive balls to leave the home side in trouble at 48 for five. Issy Wong finished 24 not out as Spirit pushed on to 90 for eight, with Annabel Sutherland taking three wickets.
Despite losing Alice Davidson-Richards for a duck second delivery to Bex Tyson, who then also dismissed Davina Perrin (four), the Superchargers soon set about chasing down their modest victory target.
Phoebe Litchfield's unbeaten 55 and Sutherland's swift 29 saw them home at 93 for two with 34 balls remaining.

Oval Invincibles to be renamed ‘MI London' at request of new Indian co-owners
The Hundred's most successful franchise, Oval Invincibles, are expected to rebrand as MI London, the first choice of their Indian co-owners. The name change, which will take place for 2026, will bring the franchise in line with the rest of the Ambani family's Mumbai Indians stable. The Hundred will undergo a number of major changes next year when a new ownership model formally takes over, with the host venues running teams alongside new investors, who have bought at least 49 per cent of each team. Surrey are entering a partnership with the richest family in Asia, the Ambanis, who have bought 49 per cent of Oval Invincibles in an auction which valued the franchise at £123m. The Ambanis' company, Reliance, has owned the five-time Indian Premier League winners Mumbai Indians since that tournament's inception in 2008, and have added a series of teams in other leagues around the world. They own MI Cape Town in the SA20, MI Emirates in the UAE's ILT20 and MI New York in the United States' Major League Cricket. They have Mumbai Indians in the Women's Premier League, too. The Surrey-Reliance deal is one of just two out of eight in the Hundred that has not been fully completed, and it appears there are still a number of issues to iron out. The name of the franchise from next year has been a contentious issue from the start and is not yet confirmed in writing. However, Telegraph Sport understands that it will be called MI London despite the wishes of Surrey, who initially wanted the county name incorporated into a rebranded Oval Invincibles. 'From a brand perspective, I hope we can brand it as a Surrey-branded team and part of our cricket ecosystem,' chairman Oli Slipper told Telegraph Sport in 2023. However, the terms of the England and Wales Cricket Board's broadcast deal with Sky prohibited the use of county branding in the names of Hundred teams. The Ambanis have been intent from the start of the process that the team should contain the MI brand and ideally be called MI London, rather than a compromise of MI Oval. The Ambanis are notoriously tough negotiators and the process to complete the Invincibles deal has dragged on to the point where there is some doubt over whether it will be completed before the new ownership structure officially kicks in on October 1. There is no doubt that the deal will be completed eventually, however. The name Oval Invincibles was something of a fudge. When Richard Gould and Richard Thompson, now CEO and chair respectively at the ECB, held the same roles at Surrey at the end of the last decade, they wanted the county's heritage reflected in the name, hence the use of Oval. The ECB preferred London. The name change for next summer will now mean the Hundred has two teams with 'London' in their name and the primary colour of their respective kits could both be blue. The MI franchises' colour scheme is a royal blue with gold or orange trim. London Spirit, the Lord's-based team, wear blue and black. They are also undergoing a rebrand, but the colours are expected to remain similar with the addition of an 'egg and bacon' trim, which is a nod to their majority owners Marylebone Cricket Club's iconic red and yellow colours. The potential kit clash raises the possibility of the introduction of away kits in the Hundred for the first time. Invincibles are one of three Hundred terms who will rebrand to reflect their Indian investors next year. Manchester Originals will become Manchester Supergiants, while Northern Superchargers will have Sunrisers in their name. It is understood that Sunrisers Leeds has been considered as an alternative to keeping 'Northern'. The Invincibles are the Hundred's most successful franchise. In four seasons, they won the first two women's competitions and the two most recent men's competitions. Their men's team remain in strong contention for a third title this year.

All accounts suggest she is working well and as a former King Charles winner she's bang in the mix class-wise. She's the one for me under Oisin Murphy. The Nunthorpe is the highlight on ITV, but there are four other races on the show starting with a handicap over 1m4f. This race is lacking pace. For that reason, I'm going for a turn up in INSANITY, who can lead or go close to the pace if one of the big priced runners goes to the front. Insanity won well at Ayr earlier in the season and wasn't totally disgraced when third at Ascot last time. He's up 1lb for that effort but his mark of 97 is workable. Up in class next for the Group 2 Lonsdale Cup over an extended 2m. This should be simple for Ascot Gold Cup hero TRAWLERMAN, who can make all under William Buick for John & Thady Gosden. The Godolphin front-runner has to give 3lb and more away, but he's just better than this lot and should shrug off any pace pressure from Al Qareem. Sweet William might be the danger. A big race for the juveniles in the Group 2 Gimcrack for colts over 6f. A huge chance for DO OR DO NOT who has no excuses in this for Ed Walker and Tom Marquand. First time cheekpieces are added to a maiden who has banged his head against the door in being placed here, in the Coventry, in the July Stakes and last time when third to Zavateri in the Group 2 Vintage. He is arguably the best maiden in the country who has run a few times. Finally, a handicap for fillies and mares over an extended 1m2f. WONDER STAR might be ahead of the handicapper for William Haggas and Tom Marquand. The daughter of Sea the Stars went handicapping at Goodwood last time off a mark of 82 and ran a cracking second in a biggish field. She's up 2lb for that but I suspect it won't stop her! Good luck! Kyrgios withdraws from US Open, misses last three Grand Slams of 2025
Aug 21 (Reuters) - Nick Kyrgios will not compete in the U.S. Open for a third consecutive year after withdrawing from the event, tournament organisers said on Thursday. The 30-year-old Australian has struggled with a litany of foot, knee and wrist injuries in recent years and has gone 1-4 in the five singles matches he has played this season. Kyrgios produced the best season of his career in 2022 during which he reached that season's Wimbledon final and the quarter-final in New York before injuries took a toll. He played just one match in 2023 and missed all of 2024 and has not played a singles match this year since losing in the second round at Miami in March. Kyrgios will be replaced in the draw by a Lucky Loser. The singles tournaments at the year's final Grand Slam begin on Sunday.
