Four-star safety Craig Tutt raves about recent Auburn visit, has Tigers in top-three The Tigers are now in a three-way race for Craig Tutt after a successful visit to the Plains.
A four-star cornerback from Tennessee is raving about his recent visit to Auburn.
Craig Tutt, a four-star cornerback from Oakland High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, recently paid a visit to Auburn and came away impressed with what he experienced. Tutt, like several recent visitors, had no idea what to expect before visiting the Plains, but learned quickly that Auburn is a special place.
"Oh man, it's amazing," Tutt said in an interview with Auburn Undercover. "It's completely not what I expected — it's actually more than I expected it to be. I'm excited that I got a chance to come down here and explore it all. Some things that stood out to me were Coach Freeze is very into the recruits. Even though we were here at like 10 o'clock last night and he's up here chilling with us, taking pictures and stuff like that. It's like a family here. I know none of the players here, but they welcomed me with open arms, just helping me with whatever I need. Coaches being a family here and just pushing that all on me that it's a family here, and that's true."
Tutt has now placed Auburn in his top three following his visit, joining Ole Miss and in-state program Tennessee. Tutt has visited Tennessee and Auburn, and will conclude his official tour on June 20 at Ole Miss before making an important decision regarding his future.
Tutt tells Auburn Undercover that he does not have a timeline for a commitment, and that he will visit Auburn during the season. Tutt is looking for a program that values family and relationships, and a program that will allow him to earn his spot on the field. Auburn appears to check all of the boxes.
Auburn's 2026 recruiting class ranks No. 52 according to 247Sports following the recent decommitment of four-star linebacker JaMichael Garrett. Hugh Freeze will look to boost his defensive back haul this cycle, and Tutt would be a valued addition.

UNC football to face SEC program in CBS Sports' first 2025 bowl projections

Which SEC team is UNC projected to face in a bowl game? Can you believe the start of college football is almost here? We'll get underway with Week 0 next weekend, then UNC will host TCU to cap off Week 1 on Labor Day. Bowl games won't be played until December, but it's never too early to start making projections. Due to North Carolina's somewhat favorable schedule, North Carolina is slated to play in a bowl game. In CBS Sports' first bowl projections ahead of the 2025 CFB season, the Tar Heels are projected to face Florida in the Gator Bowl. This would essentially be a road game for UNC, as the Gator Bowl is always played in Jacksonville's Everbank Stadium, which is just 90 minutes from UF. North Carolina has six-consecutive bowl appearances, but a horrible track record in those postseason contests, last winning a bowl game in 2019 against Temple. Bill Belichick is a much-better head coach than Mack Brown, though, so the hope is he'll have his players prepared. Given their young roster, the Tar Heels also shouldn't have many opt-outs after their regular-season concludes. If UNC ends up playing in the Gator Bowl, it'd be UNC's second trip to the Sunshine State this season. North Carolina travels to UCF on September 20. Florida is in a similar spot to that of the Tar Heels. 2024 was the Gators' first winning season since 2020, which ended in the rankings and a Cotton Bowl loss. Last year, Florida went 8-5 and beat Tulane in the Gasparilla Bowl, its first bowl victory since 2019. Pick of the stats: Hull City v Oxford United

Two sides seeking their first win go head-to-head at the MKM Stadium on Sunday (15:00 BST) as Oxford United head to Hull City. Sergej Jakirovic's Tigers picked up a battling point from a stalemate at Coventry on the opening day, but the U's went down 1-0 at home to Portsmouth in their first game. Hull City are unbeaten across their past nine home league games against Oxford United (W6 D3), winning each of their last three in succession whilst netting 2+ goals in each. Oxford United have only won one of their past five Football League games against Hull City (D1 L3); a 1-0 victory at home in November last season. Hull have lost their opening home game of a league season in just two of the prior 13 seasons (W9 D2), a run which has seen them concede just 14 goals in total. Oxford last lost each of their opening two league games of a season back in 2020-21, though have avoided that fate in each of their last six campaigns in the second tier. Last season in the Championship, only relegated Plymouth (48) attempted fewer shots on target on the road than Oxford (61), with the U's also recording the second-fewest touches in the opposition's penalty area (306).

Is Notre Dame football closing in on its quarterback decision? One pundit thinks so

The start of the season is getting closer, as Notre Dame is just over two weeks away from going on the road for a season-opening top-10 US LBM Coaches Poll matchup against the Miami Hurricanes. There are multiple starting spots that have yet to be announced, but the biggest one that we are all watching is who will be the starting quarterback: CJ Carr or Kenny Minchey. The is one insider that believes the choice could be made soon: On3's Tyler Horka. On Friday morning he posted a clip of both of them taking reps and said this weekend 'might be the one of the biggest of the year for Notre Dame' as they could be close to named its starting quarterback. All the current rumors have been that head coach Marcus Freeman, offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock and quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli are leaning towards Minchey, but obviously no decision has been made. The Irish could wait another week to let it play out, or they could end the drama and announce the starter and get ready to prep for Miami. If they are pretty much even at this point, it makes more sense to continue the battle and give them time for the guy to emerge. It's going to be a tough choice, but one that will have to eventually be made for Notre Dame.
