'There is a certain part of you that jeopardises relationships once they start turning bad,' she said, suggesting how early trauma can echo into adult dynamics. The initial years after the divorce, she admitted, were far from easy. 'It was hurtful to see the other person with somebody else. Eventually, we realised we needed to stay out of each other's lives.'Time and distance, however, brought perspective and healing. 'It does take a few years.
