Logie Awards in chaos: Guests and reality stars barred from walking red carpet and attending event
According to The Daily Telegraph, Destination NSW – the state's tourism body – pumps a fortune into the event to ensure it's held in Sydney.
While the exact figure remains under wraps, Melbourne previously shelled out around $1million for the honour.
In return, Destination NSW gets some glossy drone shots of the Harbour Bridge in the broadcast, a few 'Feel New Sydney' tourism ads and a table at the glamorous ceremony.
But when the organisation reportedly invited a handful of top-tier journalists to join them at their table, organisers allegedly swooped in and revoked the invitations.

The move has been branded not only embarrassing for Destination NSW, but 'absurd' given the long-standing relationship between the media and the Logies.
A few years ago, organisers quietly banned media from being in the room altogether – a policy that began when the awards were held in the smaller Gold Coast venue.
But now that the event is staged at Sydney's sprawling Star Casino Events Centre, critics say there's more than enough room for the entire press pack.
Adding to the farce, many of this year's nominees are journalists themselves – with two of the Gold Logie contenders and 24 Silver Logie nominees coming from journalism or current affairs programs.
And it's not just the media missing out.
Most of the cast of The Real Housewives of Sydney have been left off the guest list, despite the show being up for an award.
Sources claim only Sally Obermeder has been invited to walk the red carpet.
Meanwhile, the stars of Married At First Sight have also been snubbed, with Channel Nine only extending an invite for experts John Aiken, Mel Schilling and Alessandra Rampolla.
Speaking to Daily Mail this week, expert John Aiken admitted that despite dominating the ratings every year, the reality series has never been recognised with a win on Australian TV's night of nights.
'We have never won anything at the Logies,' Aiken admitted.
'But we're pretty happy with the ratings that we have. At the end of the day it all comes down to who's prepared to vote.
'The shows that win usually have people who get online and vote. With MAFS, while we have a lot of committed viewers, they don't seem to vote.'
Aiken said the team does not measure success by trophies.
'We don't do it to get a Logie, we do it because it's fun, it's exciting and a lot of people watch it. The real prize is the huge audience engagement we get every year,' he said.
This year, like in the past, many MAFS cast members have been left off the official Logies guest list, something Aiken says is out of everyone's hands.
'It's a privilege to be invited, but it's completely out of my hands and out of the hands of the talent. Every year people are going to miss out, but you have no control over it,' he explained.
And even if the show did win a Logie, Aiken joked it would be risky to let some of the brides or grooms accept the award.
'You'd have no idea what they're going to say,' he said with a laugh.
'They're very brave people who put themselves out there and I'm grateful to them for doing the show, but you never know what they'll do once filming wraps.'
Aiken says that while the Logies may elude them, the show's reach is undeniable.
'It's now in its 13th season and it just keeps growing. It's sold into over 120 countries and it's consistently high in the ratings here. We keep putting out a high-quality product that people respond to,' John said.

Colin Fassnidge lets slip MAJOR spoiler for new season of My Kitchen Rules during hilarious Logies interview - as he reveals 'feud' with co-host Manu Feildel is set to explode
Colin Fassnidge was feeling frisky on the Logies red carpet on Sunday. The My Kitchen Rules star told Daily Mail that he was on notice to behave himself, if his wife had her way. The 51-year-old was in such a festive mood that he couldn't help but let slip some secrets from the upcoming series of MKR. 'Want to know who wins?' he teased, before adding, 'Remember this name - The Meat Master. 'After this show airs, this guy will be a meme,' Colin added, hinting at a potential fan favourite. Colin went on to admit that he and his fellow judge, Manu Feildel, had one of their most tense seasons as their friendly 'feud' continues. 'This year on the show, we went toe-to-toe,' Colin explained. 'Get ready for it... this is why I have grey hair,' he added. Colin also admitted that he and Manu clashed with some of the new contestants, too. 'A couple of people don't really like us,' he said, cryptically. Colin said that there were further tensions between himself and Manu when the pair filmed another series - their new travel program, Off The Grid. The reality show sees the two men, who are often at odds with one another, travel around New Zealand in a caravan. 'Me and Manu, living in a caravan farting and arguing,' Colin said when describing the series. Asked if they argued frequently while travelling together, Colin admitted: 'Loads. Manu is a very grumpy man and he snores!' Off The Grid was announced as part of Channel Seven's 2025 programming lineup at the network's recent Upfronts event in Sydney. It has already aired in New Zealand where Colin explained it hit 'number one' in the TV ratings. Colin told Yahoo Lifestyle the idea for a road-trip series had been brewing for years. 'Manu had an idea to do a thing called "A Big Lap Around Australia" and no one wanted to do it, but when we were in New Zealand I said: "We should do it in a caravan". It was Manu's idea, but I made it better,' he said. The celebrity chef duo have certainly been known for trading barbs in the past and Colin added that viewers could expect a few spicy exchanges on the show. 65th TV WEEK LOGIE AWARDS WINNERS AND NOMINATIONS TV WEEK GOLD LOGIE – Most Popular Personality on Australian Television Ally Langdon - A Current Affair, The Olympic Games Paris 2024, 9Network Hamish Blake - LEGO Masters Australia, 9Network Julia Morris - I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Network 10 Lisa Millar - Back Roads, ABC News Breakfast, Muster Dogs: Where Are They Now, Muster Dogs: Collies & Kelpies, ABC Lynne McGranger - Home and Away, Seven Network - WINNER Poh Ling Yeow - MasterChef Australia, Network 10 Sonia Kruger - The Voice, Dancing With The Stars, Logies Red Carpet Show, Seven Network Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter Hamish Blake - LEGO Masters Australia, 9Network Julia Morris - I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Network 10 Ricki-Lee - Australian Idol, Seven Network Sonia Kruger - The Voice, Dancing With The Stars, Logies Red Carpet Show, Seven Network Todd Woodbridge - Tipping Point Australia, Australian Open, The Olympic Games Paris 2024, Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, 9Network - WINNER Zan Rowe - Take 5 With Zan Rowe, ABC New Year's Eve, ABC Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent Guy Montgomery - Guy Montgomery's Guy Mont Spelling Bee, ABC - WINNER Hailey Pinto - Home and Away, Seven Network Jenny Tian - Taskmaster Australia, Network 10 Kate Miller-Heidke - The Voice, Seven Network Kylah Day - Territory, Netflix Sofia Levin - MasterChef Australia, Network 10 Ray Martin Award for Most Popular News or Public Affairs Presenter Ally Langdon - A Current Affair, 9Network - WINNER David Speers - Insiders, ABC Michael Usher - 7NEWS, 7NEWS Spotlight, Seven Network Peter Overton - 9News, 9Network Sarah Ferguson - 7.30, ABC Tara Brown - 60 Minutes, Dangerous Lies: Unmasking Belle Gibson, 9Network TV WEEK SILVER LOGIE – Best Lead Actor in a Drama Lloyd Griffith - Return To Paradise, ABC Michael Dorman - Territory, Netflix Robert Taylor - Territory, Netflix Sam Corlett - Territory, Netflix Sam Neill - The Twelve, BINGE / FOXTEL - WINNER Tai Hara - Return To Paradise, ABC TV WEEK SILVER LOGIE – Best Lead Actress in a Drama Alycia Debnam-Carey - Apple Cider Vinegar, Netflix Anna Samson - Return To Paradise, ABC Anna Torv - Territory, Netflix Ayesha Madon - Heartbreak High, Netflix Kaitlyn Dever - Apple Cider Vinegar, Netflix Lynne McGranger - Home and Away, Seven Network - WINNER TV WEEK SILVER LOGIE – Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Aaron Chen - Fisk, ABC - WINNER Ben Miller - Austin, ABC Clancy Brown - Good Cop/Bad Cop, Stan Luke Cook - Good Cop/Bad Cop, Stan Michael Theo - Austin, ABC Patrick Brammall - Colin From Accounts, BINGE / FOXTEL TV WEEK SILVER LOGIE – Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Harriet Dyer - Colin From Accounts, BINGE / FOXTEL Jenna Owen - Nugget is Dead: A Christmas Story, Stan Kitty Flanagan - Fisk, ABC - WINNER Leighton Meester - Good Cop/Bad Cop, Stan Sally Phillips, Austin - ABC Vic Zerbst - Nugget is Dead: A Christmas Story, Stan TV WEEK SILVER LOGIE – Best Supporting Actor Ashley Zukerman - Apple Cider Vinegar, Netflix Darren Gilshenan - Colin From Accounts, BINGE / FOXTEL Glenn Butcher - Fisk, ABC - WINNER Mark Coles Smith - Apple Cider Vinegar, Netflix Matt Nable - Apple Cider Vinegar, Netflix Sam Delich - Territory, Netflix TV WEEK SILVER LOGIE – Best Supporting Actress Aisha Dee - Apple Cider Vinegar, Netflix Chloé Hayden - Heartbreak High, Netflix Julia Zemiro - Fisk, ABC - WINNER Marg Downey - The Newsreader, ABC Michelle Lim Davidson - The Newsreader, ABC Tilda Cobham-Hervey - Apple Cider Vinegar, Netflix Best Drama Program Bump - Stan Heartbreak High - Netflix Return To Paradise - ABC - WINNER Territory - Netflix The Newsreader - ABC The Twelve - BINGE / FOXTEL Best Miniseries or Telemovie Apple Cider Vinegar - Netflix - WINNER Critical Incident - Stan Fake - Paramount+ How To Make Gravy - BINGE / FOXTEL Human Error - 9Network Plum - ABC Best Entertainment Program ABC New Year's Eve - ABC Australian Idol - Seven Network Countdown 50 Years On - ABC Dancing With The Stars - Seven Network The Voice - Seven Network - WINNER Vision Australia's Carols by Candlelight - 9Network Best Current Affairs Program 60 Minutes - 9Network 7.30 - ABC 7NEWS Spotlight - Seven Network A Current Affair - 9Network Australian Story - ABC - WINNER Four Corners - ABC Best Scripted Comedy Program Austin - ABC Colin From Accounts - BINGE / FOXTEL Fisk - ABC - WINNER Good Cop/Bad Cop - Stan Melbourne International Comedy Festival - ABC Optics - ABC Best Comedy Entertainment Program Gruen - ABC Hard Quiz - ABC Have You Been Paying Attention? Lynne McGranger took home the crown on Sunday night when she was awarded the Gold Logie at The Star in Sydney. The iconic Home and Away star, 72, took to the 2025 Logies stage with a smile in her gold gown as she accepted the award from 2009 winner Rebecca Gibney. She beat TV stars Ally Langdon, Hamish Blake, Julia Morris, Poh Ling Yeow and Sonia Kruger for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television. 'Wear a pretty dress they said. You'll be fine they said,' joked Lynne, who recently announced she was leaving her soap show after 33 years. 'I'm thrilled and honoured... I don't know if any of you have caught my press lately. There hasn't been much.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'I did promise if I won the Gold Logie, I would carry it around in my handbag for a year. Which is better than baring my white a** on TV, Larry,' she said. The joke was in reference to The Morning Show host Larry Emdur having his behind tattooed live on air last year after her won the Gold Logie. Lynne then joked she would have her ashes put in the Logie when she died, before thanking her Home and Away stars and crew. Just moments earlier, Lynne won her first ever Silver Logie when she was awarded Best Lead Actress in a Drama for her iconic role as Irene Roberts in Home and Away. 'If I was a betting woman I would have not backed myself,' she said during her emotional speech. New Zealand comedian Guy Montgomery won the Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent for his eponymous Guy Mont Spelling Bee on ABC.
