Celebrity chef Curtis Stone spills his secrets for the perfect burger - and the unexpected ingredient he ALWAYS adds to his sauce

Celebrity chef Curtis Stone has spilled his secrets to the perfect beef burger - including the unexpected ingredient he always adds to his sauce. The TV chef made what he declared to be the 'best ever' smash burger, which consisted of 12 ingredients. His secret burger sauce formula includes mayonnaise, tomato sauce, pickles, Dijon mustard - and one unlikely ingredient for added flavour: kimchi. 'That's right, chopped kimchi is an absolute winner,' the Coles ambassador said in a video posted on the supermarket's Instagram page. 'This sauce is the difference between a good burger and an unbelievable burger.' Kimchi, a traditional Korean side dish made from fermented Chinese cabbage, is known for its spicy, sour and umami flavour. The Aussie-born restaurateur, who lives in Los Angeles, said he always starts with caramelising the onions with butter. 'These are the secrets to my best ever beef burger,' Curtis explained. Celebrity chef Curtis Stone has spilled his secrets to the perfect beef burger - including the unusual ingredient he always adds to his sauce 'First we're going to make the onions because burgers just aren't the same without them. What we're looking for here is sweet, golden, beautifully caramelised onions.' Next, the cookbook author shapes the beef mince into meatballs before placing baking paper over the top to flatten them into a burger patty, just slightly wider than the size of the buns. The flattening technique results in a crispy, caramelised crust around the patty. 'Smashing your patty will make it cook faster and caramelise, bringing out the flavour,' he said. Curtis doesn't season the patty on both sides with salt and pepper until it's searing on the pan. 'I know lots of people will put all sorts of stuff inside the meat but I don't,' he said. 'I just keep it very, very simple. It's really quite thin which means it's going to cook really quickly. 'You want to make sure you've got a really nice contact with that grill. It's going to get beautifully caramelised all over. 'The best part of all - it only takes a minute or two.' The chef said toasting the buns allows them to soak up more of the burger juices and he urges home cooks to avoid using extra lean mince for burgers as they are not as succulent. The video has been viewed more than 12,000 times - with many saying they were keen to recreate the beef burgers at home. 'Yes, I'd devour that,' one said. 'It looks amazing,' another shared. Australia's 'most handsome grocer' sets hearts racing as women swoon over more than just his incredibly cheap fruits and vegetables

A fruit and vegetable store famous for its low prices has grabbed attention for a completely different reason, with women swooning over the handsome grocer. Skippy's Fresh Frootz at Victoria Point in Redland City, south-east of Brisbane, has become a viral sensation partly due to its crazy offers, such as five cent lemons. The greengrocer was started by Sam Eletri and his friend Chris Tonks-Foote back in 2018, while Mr Eletri's son Elijah Etri promotes the special deals on TikTok. Elijah appears to have given customers another reason to visit the fruit and vegetable store, with women falling head over heels in love with him. 'Ladies, can we all agree we're not going to Skippy's for the prices?' one said. 'Dude I'm 100 per cent sure everyone is going to Skippy's for the views not the prices,' another added. 'Oh hun, can you skip over me a couple of times? Here, Skippy,' a third said. 'God, he's handsome,' a fourth chimed in. One said she was happy for Elijah to have his 'way with me' while another joked they would gladly pay 'full price for Big Skip'. Loyal fans also noted in the latest video that Elijah appeared to be working out. 'Skippy's arms are getting bigger. Skippy's been working out,' one wrote. 'My short king,' a second said. In the latest video, the Adonis of the Aisle spruiked cauliflowers as big as his head for $1.99 as well as avocados for 99c, 1kg of onions for 99c and dozens of other fresh fruits and vegetables for a fraction of the prices seen at Coles and Woolworths. 'Prices you've never seen the supermarket - and you never will - happen here almost weekly at Skippy's Fresh Frootz,' he said. Skippy's Fresh Frootz has been gaining traction online since the company started posting videos in 2023, partly to expose the supermarket giants during the cost-of-living crisis. In one clip watched more than 2.3million times, Elijah promoted watermelon for just 9c a kilo, a fraction of the cost seen at major supermarkets. Elijah encouraged other Aussies to support local by shopping at independent stores. 'We aren't the only ones being competitive,' he said. 'Our prices are a bit more drastic, but other independent grocers are selling produce for cheap too. 'Aussies need to break away from convenience to challenge these major supermarkets doing the wrong thing. 'If more Aussies do that then more local business will open or thrive, and the major supermarkets will realise they can't get away with everything.' Perth to Sydney have pleaded with the company to expand to other states.

Fashion influencer gets slammed as she goes braless in 'hideous' designer dress

Elle Ferguson has been slammed for attending a fashion show in a very revealing designer dress. The influencer, who famously quit The Block in 2022, posted a video to Instagram on Saturday while wearing the lilac Loewe dress. The frock, which is part of the luxury fashion house's Fall 2025 collection, featured a plunging neckline and peplum layered design around the waist. 'All I can say is THE LILAC @loewe dress is even better in real life. Such a dream to experience @ last collection in real life and get to play dress ups with the collection. Big thanks to the incredible #loewe team and @mcm_pr,' she wrote. Elle's fans flocked to the comments to slam her 'hideous' look, with many insisting the dress doesn't compliment her figure. 'Different isn't always flattering. And I'm talking about the dress not you. This dress wouldn't be flattering in anyone as it is,' one person wrote. 'That dress is hideous!' another agreed while a third added: 'God that's an ugly dress.' 'Looks so uncomfortable to wear,' one commented while another wrote: 'I don't like that dress at all, sorry.' However some complimented her look with one writing: 'You are the full model vibe. Give this girl a catwalk.' 'Actual Supermodel,' another added. Elle's post comes after she recently called out a series of shocking episodes from her past that she had to endure while building a successful career as a businesswoman. The Block star and influencer took to her Instagram stories in May to a share a throwback moment that many women can relate to. Captioning the story 'awkward question', Elle related the cringe worthy experience in the post. 'I remember so vividly sitting in a job interview (conducted by a woman) and being asked is the reason why I've come so far in my job because of the "way I looked"?' Her fans flocked to the comments to slam Elle's 'hideous' look, with many insisting the dress doesn't compliment her figure She also posted a single black tile with the caption, 'can I ask you a question?' 'I'm sitting here looking at an attractive looking 'How important does that play in getting yourself to stand out amongst the crowd?' She posted another tile that asked, 'Do you think a man would be asked this question?' and including a 'Yes/No' dialogue box. Elle then finished her story by posting a final tile that claimed, 'This was one of the questions I was asked in 2019 by Mark Bouris.' The entrepreneur was referring to her guest spot on Bouris' The Mentor podcast when she was interviewed by the Wizard Home Loans founder. During the interview, Bouris can be heard telling the former Block cast member, 'Going through life, being an attractive woman in the fashion industry, how do you reconcile that as an advantage and I think it's an advantage and how did you work it.' Bouris continued: 'I mean there's nothing wrong with using your assets and I'm not saying you are just that, because I know people will be how do we deal with it?' Elle replied that she has had to work 'harder' for her success in order to break through the 'Legally Blonde dumb blonde' stereotype.
