Daisy May Cooper makes shock exit from ITV series before second series

Metro20-06-2025
ITV has revealed that Daisy May Cooper will not be returning for the second series of one of their most popular game shows.
Hosted by Stephen Mangan, Password sees team captains Daisy and Alan Carr team up with a civilian contestant to win a £10,000 prize.
Each captain is given a secret word in the show – the password – which their teammate then has to guess based on a one-word clue.
However, according to reports, neither Daisy or Alan will be returning to the gameshow, which comes from the makers of Britain's Got Talent and QI.
A source told The Sun: 'Password did brilliantly on its first outing and it's always a shame to make changes, but Alan and Daisy are both incredibly busy and diaries just wouldn't align.
'Something had to give and sadly it was their roles as team captains.
'But there's an exciting line-up of celebs ready to take part instead, and everyone's confident that the format works without them.'
This comes after Daisy, along with her This Country co-star and brother Charlie, revealed they would not be featuring in the upcoming Celebrity Traitors.
The duo pulled out of the show just weeks before filming, according to the Mirror.
It is believed that both actors decided they did not want to be away from their young families.
In July last year, it was also revealed that Daisy would not be returning for the next series of Never Mind The Buzzcocks.
The 37-year-old This Country star joined as team captain opposite Noel Fielding when Sky brought back the iconic 1990s music quiz in 2021, but she was replaced for the revival's upcoming fourth run.
Following its debut on television in September last year, Password was met with mixed reviews from the public.
Taking to X during the show to vent their frustrations, viewers pointed out a major flaw in the show's format.
Unfortunately for eager participants at home, they were prevented from playing along when the password was announced by a voiceover as the round began.
Writing on X, user originalfran blasted: 'Why ask if we can guess the #Password when some guy announces it at the beginning of each round, then you show it on screen??? What's the point in this show if we can't play along at home?' More Trending
Queenie_2312 agreed: 'When we filmed the #Password pilot, the password was only shown to the audience and not said out loud, they should of kept that format as you can't play along as an audience member at home when the password is being said out loud'.
The reactions weren't all bad, though, as a handful of viewers did warm to the concept. ThisIsMeUK1 said during the launch: 'Been looking forward to this sooooo much!!!'
Metro has contacted Daisy and Alan's representatives and ITV for comment.

Katie Price's defiant post about motherhood after denying 'rift' with Princess Andre

Katie Price has shared a quote about parenthood following the launch of her daughter Princess Andre's reality TV show, which she had previously said that she wouldn't watch A post about motherhood has been shared by Katie Price this week amid speculation over her relationship with her eldest daughter Princess Andre. It comes following the launch of the Princess Diaries over the weekend. ‌ Katie, 47, has claimed she wasn't allowed to appear in the ITV show, which follows Princess, 18, who's the youngest of her two children with her ex-husband Peter Andre, 52. She's also criticised the teenager's management for not "allowing" her to guide her daughter in her career. ‌ ‌ READ MORE: Katie Price worries fans with appearance in family photo after explaining weight loss Katie shared a post about being a mother, which had been uploaded by the page INEX Digital Wealth on Instagram, with her followers on the platform this afternoon. It appeared to be titled: "Your mom is not your enemy." It read: "She may not always say things the way you want to hear them, but her heart is always in the right place. She's the one who worries when you're hurting, prays when you're lost, and stands by you even when the world doesn't." ‌ The post shared by Katie concluded: "She's not trying to control you. She's trying to protect you. She may not be perfect, but she's the only woman in this world who truly wants what's best for you, even if it costs her everything." Princess is the third eldest of Katie's five children. Her family also includes Junior Andre, 20, who is the eldest of her two kids with Peter, and eldest son Harvey Price, 23. It comes after the Princess Diaries launched last night. Katie had previously said that she wouldn't be watching it and expressed her disappointment over her apparent lack of involvement with her eldest daughter's career to date. ‌ As previously reported, she said on an episode of the Katie Price Show podcast that she had offered to take part in the reality TV show 'for free' but was turned down. Katie said she's "very upset" that Princess' career is being managed by her ex-husband Peter's management, the CAN Group, who she alleged consider Katie to be "trash". Katie said on the podcast: "Princess is taking that same path [as I did in my career] – trying to do the same as what I've done – which I absolutely love and adore of Princess but I have not been allowed to go on any photoshoot, no signings or Superdrug openings or anything like that. Why? Because I'm not allowed and I'm not welcome." ‌ And dismissing rumours of a rift between the mother and daughter, Katie said: "Me and Princess have never, ever, ever had an argument to this day or a disagreement. We get on like best friends, mother and daughter. Princess lives with me and she stays at her dad's. Now, she's been staying at her dad's the past two months because she's been filming her show. And our personal life together is amazing." As reported last night, Princess spoke about her mother in the first episode of her show and said that she's like a "best friend". She's quoted as having said in a scene: "Me and my mum now, we're so close. We're like best friends." In a statement, Princess' management later responded to Katie's criticism. The CAN Group told the Mirror recently: "As a company, our duty of care to our clients is paramount. We would never advise a client on their personal life unless asked and we have never stopped anyone seeing their families."

Although wishing her ex well, Hayley said she did not intend on watching him in the E4 show. She added: "A year later, I've been able to turn past trauma into something positive. "I feel like I've done a lot of glowing up. I am in a really strong, happy place. Feeling very grounded." Mark and Hayley confirmed their split in May 2024, just days after their one-year anniversary. Taking to Instagram at the time, Hayley wrote in her Story: 'It is with regret I announce that myself and Mark have gone our separate ways. "We had the best year together and I truly wish him all the best for the future." The Sun later told how Mark took a swipe at his ex, saying he would only consider divorcing estranged wife Katie if he met someone serious. EXCL The Chase's Mark Labbett reveals he was forced to quit date after shock health scare Mark married Katie - who is also his second cousin - in 2014 and they separated in 2020. The former couple also welcomed a son during their marriage. He said: 'It will happen if either Katie or I get with someone serious — then it might obviously be a different matter.' Mark spoke out after Hayley told The Sun a month earlier that his break-up with her a week after their one-year anniversary left her 'completely crushed'. 'Facts are easy. Numbers are easy. People are complicated. 'I could sum me up as the kind of guy who could tell you the capital of Estonia is Tallinn but would have no idea why that pretty girl is giving me a funny half-smile. 'That's why I never played poker seriously, because I realised I can't read people.' Mark Labbett and Hayley Palmer relationship timeline May 16, 2023 - The pair went on their first date to a Toby Carvery in Southsea, Portsmouth. December 24, 2023 - The couple decided to record a podcast together after being in a relationship for several months. They planned to cover everything from Mark wooing Hayley with his Toby Carvery card to dating in the public eye, shopping trips, their big rule of not sharing chips and hilarious inside jokes. May 25, 2024 - Mark broke up with Hayley over the phone, saying he wasn't ready to finalise his divorce with his ex wife Katie. Meanwhile, Hayley later fired back at these comments. Taking to Instagram, she told fans: 'I think it's a shame that someone could say something so heartless over a relationship that lasted over a year. "I have moved on and working to be the best version of myself. "I think what is actually serious is Mental Health and we should all be working together towards a caring Christmas. X."

Harry & Meghan were ‘not in a strong position' & signed Netflix deal for ‘much less'… TV giant ‘did it for publicity'

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle signed for their latest Netflix deal for "much less" than previously as they no longer in a strong position, a royal expert has said. The couple announced today they had signed a new "multi-year, first look deal" with the American streaming giant to produce "film and television projects". 3 Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have signed a fresh deal with Netflix Credit: Splash 3 Their multi-year deal with the streaming giant, signed in 2020, comes to an end this year Credit: Splash 3 An insider has claimed the couple have signed a deal for 'much less' than they did in 2020 Credit: Splash The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have previously released a number of shows on the platform, including a 2022 documentary on their lives and Meghan's lifestyle show With Love, Meghan this year. They had secured a lucrative five-year contract - thought to be worth more than $100 million (£74 million) - with Netflix after quitting as senior working royals in 2020. However, this new deal has been signed for "much less", an insider told Page Six. Adding to this, Royal Biographer Hugo Vickers told The Sun the couple were "not in a strong bargaining position" when agreeing to the new partnership with Netflix. He added that Netflix signed the deal due to the "publicity" the company would get from showcasing the royals on its platform. Hugo said: "I don't think the Sussexes would have been able to pressurise them [Netflix] because they're not in a very strong bargaining position. "Netflix will have figured out they will be getting publicity from the shows." This weakened position could have led to a cheaper deal being signed as well as the introduction of a "first look" clause in the agreement. It means Netflix will only pay for projects they want to screen, rather than pay in a single multi-million pound agreement like the one signed in 2020, The Sun understands. The Sun can also reveal, however, that the streaming giants will cover Archewell Productions's overheads, including all costs for its offices and staff. Meghan and Harry's Netflix deal is extended as 'special' Christmas episode of cooking show & new documentary announced Netflix will also have to fork out to the couple to have the exclusive first look on their projects. Hugo hinted that the deal could also be part of the nature of Harry and Meghan's need to remain in the public eye in their new lives - in order to keep income flowing to their "expensive lifestyles". The royal expert said: "I suspect that they lead a very expensive life. "They have to keep going as once the money runs out, and if their popularity runs out, they could be in trouble." It is not yet known how much the new extended deal will bring in for the couple, or how long it will last. Meghan said in a statement today: "We're proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As Ever brand. "My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision." On top of Season 2 of With Love, Meghan - which will drop later this month - the couple will also film a "Holiday Celebration" Christmas special this December. "Join Meghan in Montecito for a magical holiday celebration," the announcement read. "Together, friends and family deck the halls, create holiday feasts, craft heartfelt gifts, and share lots of laughs – with simple how-tos to follow at home. It's a holiday wonder with warmth, tradition, and a generous dose of joy." The couple will also release a short film called "Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within" which will look at Uganda's Masaka region and the HIV/AIDS crisis there. This has echoes of Harry's mum Diana's work, who pioneered social change on perceptions of HIV/AIDS. 'Meghan & Harry need to come up with a hit soon' By Matt Wilkinson JUST when you thought it was safe to turn the telly on again... Harry and Meghan are back. And their multi-year renewal with Netflix means they are not going away anytime soon. There have been tense negotiations in recent weeks but Netflix is so deeply involved with Meghan's As Ever brand it was always likely that the streaming giants would want them back. Make no mistake, Harry and Meghan would have been desperate for the deal to be renewed. They will likely be opening a bottle or two of As Ever Rose in Montecito. Because they have invested heavily in Archewell Productions and getting on board with Netflix is central not only to their post-Royal endeavours but more importantly crucial to their bank accounts. If they lost their Netflix money then how could they afford their life in the US? While the length of the deal or how much the couple are getting paid is vague we do know that Meghan will appear in a 'holiday special' in December that will likely clash with the Princess of Wales's annual Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey. And finally, two years after I revealed in The Sun the couple had bought the rights to the book Meet Me At The Lake, production is in active development. Sources close to the couple are coy about whether Harry or Meghan will appear on screen for the production of Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within which will air later this year. But perhaps the best piece of news from the announcement is no repeat of the six-part documentary which dumped on the Royal Family. However, 'Harry & Meghan' was a ratings dream and none of their projects since have been anywhere as successful. They need to come up with a hit soon. And this 'first look' deal means Netflix has the first option on new projects from the couple without any guaranteed commitment. But remember the Sussexes are not the only Royals to be in bed with Netflix. The King will feature in a documentary on The King's Foundation with Idris Elba. In 1987, Princess Diana opened the UK's first purpose built HIV/AIDS unit at Middlesex Hospital in London. She famously shook the hand of a man suffering with the illness without gloves, publicly challenging the idea that HIV/AIDS was passed from person to person by touch. There is also "active development" on other projects with Netflix which "span a variety of content genres", including a feature adaptation of the bestselling romantic novel by Carley Fortune, Meet Me At The Lake. Bela Bajaria, Netflix's Chief Content Officer, said: 'Harry and Meghan are influential voices whose stories resonate with audiences everywhere. "The response to their work speaks for itself — Harry & Meghan gave viewers an intimate look into their lives and quickly became one of our most-watched documentary series. "More recently, fans have been inspired by With Love, Meghan, with products from the new As Ever line consistently selling out in record time. "We're excited to continue our partnership with Archewell Productions and to entertain our members together.' The Sun has reached out to the Sussexes for comment.
