Nitish inspects industry cluster of Sikandarpur in Bihta

Patna, June 15 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that several industrial units were manufacturing goods in the Sikandarpur industrial area of Bihta.
After inspecting the cluster of industries in Sikandarpur of Bihta on Sunday, Kumar expressed his pleasure over the successful operation of the industrial units, which were producing various goods in the industrial area.
He said that with an aim to provide employment to the youth and to promote entrepreneurship among them, the Chief Minister Entrepreneurship Scheme has been started, under which people of all classes are being attracted towards the enterprise for employment. The atmosphere for industrialisation was conducive in the state and the government was also providing all required facilities to the entrepreneurs.
The Chief Minister said that his government was promoting investors for setting up industrial units across the state, for which an industrial promotion policy has been framed keeping in mind the convenience of the investors.
Kumar said that in Sikandarpur industrial unit of Bihta the women and men were engaged in the manufacturing of various products maintaining their quality. He said such industrial units create employment opportunities for the local people and also pave the way for development of the area.
During inspection, the Chief Minister took details of the production of various items including garments, bags, and others.
The Chief Minister also interacted with those engaged in the manufacturing who apprised him about the details of the manufacturing process.
The Chief Minister also inspected the modern integrated centre, package house, cold storages and other such units.

Discussions will also be held regarding relations between India and the European Union, issues related to the planned 'India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor' (IMEC), the situation in the Middle East, and the latest developments on the Cyprus problem. Christodoulides and Modi will then visit the Green Line in central Nicosia, before turning to the presidential palace for an official lunch. Modi will then depart for Canada after the lunch. After his arrival in the afternoon today, President Christodoulides and PM Modi attended a roundtable meeting in Limassol alongside business leaders from both Cyprus and India, before attending an informal working dinner. Before leaving India, PM Modi had described Cyprus as 'a close friend and an important partner'. 1 2 Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Sunday visited three operational micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) units at the Sikandarpur industrial area in Bihta, Patna, and lauded their contribution to employment and exports, particularly of non-chemically treated fruits such as litchis and jardalu mangoes. "It gives immense happiness to know that several units are in operation in this industrial area. To provide jobs to youths and to hone their entrepreneurial skill, the govt had started the CM Entrepreneurial Scheme under which persons from all classes are getting attracted to have a new opening in their life," the CM said during the inspection. He added, "The atmosphere is conducive for industrial activities in the state. The govt, too, is providing all required facilities to interested entrepreneurs and industrial incentive policy has also been framed to promote them." The CM said women have also been engaged and efforts are being made to involve local youths. Among the three units visited was the integrated irradiation centre (IIC), which exports non-chemically treated litchis and jardalu mangoes to the UAE and Qatar. The facility includes a 3,000 KCL capacity unit with a Cobalt-60 radiation source, a cold storage facility (4,000 metric tonnes), a dry warehouse (4,000 tonnes) and a packaging unit with a two metric tonnes per hour capacity. The CM also visited R K Shirts Private Limited and a canvas and gift bag production unit. The three enterprises together employ over 350 skilled workers. R K Shirts, which began operations in April 2025 after being allotted a 37,056 sqft shed, has trained over 180 local youths and plans to expand its workforce to 1,200. During his visit, the CM interacted with workers and sought updates on the operations. A young man selling mobile phone covers on a cart in Jharkhand's Jamshedpur has set an example by scoring 549 marks in the NEET UG exam. Rohit Kumar, has secured 12,484th rank at the all India level and hope to secure admission in a government medical college in Jharkhand. In a video shared by Physics Wallah, founder and CEO Alakh Pandey visited Kumar at his cart to congratulate him. Kumar revealed that he was part of Physics Wallah's Ummeed batch, which offers free coaching to all students aiming for NEET 2025 Kumar revealed that his father used to work at a vegetable market. After 12th, he dropped out of college to prepare for NEET. During COVID pandemic, he had worked at a medical store and was inspired to study medicine. He told Pandey, that during his preparation for NEET, he used to work all day selling phone covers at his stall and then study till 3 am for the exam. The next day, he would wake up at 7am and return to work. In another video, Alakh Pandey gifted a doctor's coat to the bright student and congratulated him on his success. This year saw a drop in the number of qualifying candidates compared to last year's 13.15 lakh. A total of 22.09 lakh students appeared for the exam this year, slightly fewer than last year's 23.33 lakh. Uttar Pradesh led the chart for qualifying candidates with over 1.70 lakh, followed by Maharashtra (over 1.25 lakh) and Rajasthan (over 1.19 lakh).
