Peppa Pig's mum gives birth and announces adorable name
The Peppa Pig universe has grown a little bigger with the arrival of a baby girl. Mummy Pig gave birth to her first child early on Tuesday morning - and she's already stealing the hearts of the nation. The news was shared on Good Morning Britain, where it was announced that the new piglet was born at 5:34 AM, and was given the name Evie.
Fans of the animated family have been following the pregnancy journey closely ever since Mummy Pig announced she was pregnant back in February. She made the shock announcement on Good Morning Britain that she was welcoming another piglet into the family.
Since then, the excitement has only grown. Just last month, Mummy Pig had a spectacular gender reveal party at London's Battersea Power Station, leaving fans frilled when it was revealed a little girl was on the way, the Mirror reports.
Mummy Pig spared no expense telling viewers everything about her birth. Little baby Evie was born in the Lindo Wing in London - the same location where Kate Middleton gave birth to all her children - George, Charlotte, and Louis.
Little Evie was born at the ultra-exclusive maternity ward at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, where a single night will set you back £5,900 and a top tier deluxe package will cost you £7,500.
Back at home, big brother George and big sister Peppa are said to be "over the moon" and counting down the moments until they can meet their new sibling.
As for the proud parents, Mummy and Daddy Pig said that they're "looking forward to lots of happy snorts and sleepless nights."
Fans can join in the celebrations, with a brand new cinema special. Peppa Meets the Baby will be shown in over 2,600 cinemas across 19 countries on May 30. The hour-long musical event will include 10 brand new episodes, following as Peppa and George get ready to welcome their baby sister.
Ahead of the cinema release, the gender reveal episode premiered on the Peppa Pig Tales YouTube channel on May 3, giving fans a chance to look at the moment that had every viewer screaming in excitement.
With Evie's safe arrival, long-time fans of the Peppa Pig family have taken to social media to welcome the newest member of the family. One fan wrote: "Evie is such a beautiful name. Peppa and George will be so happy to have another baby sister and my children are going to love watching it even more."
As someone else stated: "Why am I emotional over a cartoon pig giving birth. This is so sweet. Peppa and Evie!!!! That is the cutest thing ever. Love this for Mummy Pig."
Since arriving on screens in 2004, Peppa Pig has become a global sensation airing in 180 regions and translated into 40 languages - with a billion-pound empire of books, toys and theme parks.

Benjamin Sesko names former Man Utd star as his idol: 'He's just amazing'
Benjamin Sesko is ready to begin his Manchester United career and cannot wait to follow in the footsteps of his football idol by playing for the Red Devils. The Slovenian striker has arrived from RB Leipzig this summer in a deal worth £74m as the Red Devils completely revamp their forward line. Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha have also been signed from Brentford and Wolves respectively, while Marcus Rashford has departed on loan to Barcelona and United try and get rid of Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho. Sesko is expected to lead the line with Mbeumo and Cunha in the roles behind him in Ruben Amorim's 3-4-3 formation, with Red Devils fans very excited about their new-look attack. The 22-year-old is raring to get going and has given supporters an idea of what to expect by revealing that his role model is Zlatan Ibrahimovic. In The Mixer: Exclusive analysis, FPL tips and transfer talk sent straight to your inbox every week – sign up, it's an open goal. The 6'5″ new signing has long been a fan of the Swede, who scored 29 goals for Manchester United, and loves the way he approached the game. 'He's been my role model since I've been small,' Sesko told MUTV of Ibrahimovic. 'I've been watching him, like every single YouTube video that I can find, because he's just amazing for me, you know. 'We don't have the same, let's say, character. But I like to see him, the way he plays, the way he enjoys football, because that's when all the joy comes, you know. If you enjoy football, then everything works. And I think this is the most important. It's probably also one of the parts that just makes me love him so much, you know what I mean? So maybe one day to meet him, that would be great. He's my idol.' Sesko and Ibrahimovic share imposing physical presences, coupled with incredible athleticism, but says he has tried to learn from very different Manchester United forwards as well. 'Of course, I try to take some stuff from him,' he said. 'Especially like some similarities with the high kicks and power strikes. 'For me, there's [also] Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney, all those kind of guys. I've also been watching them, of course, on the videos.' Mbeumo also spoke of his love of a former Manchester United superstar when he signed, although he had a number of big name heroes. 'My first top was Manchester United with Ronaldo behind,' he said. 'My favourite players changed with time. When I was really young, my two best footballers were Lionel Messi and Ronaldo. When I was growing up, Neymar. After that it was Eden Hazard.' Cunha watched Manchester United growing up and picked out players who stood out to him as a youngster. More Trending 'It's always hard to talk because I remember the whole squad from the time I started to watch,' he told MUTV on his arrival at Old Trafford. 'In the front, Rooney, wow! Sometimes I think I have a lot of particulars in my game because I always give everything. 'I remember he was the number 10, everyone loved the skills of the player in this shirt, but he brings always more. He goes to the grass to take the ball, you know like this kind of energy inside of him, he was a big example. 'But of course, I can mention a lot of players. Ronaldo, everyone knows it is easy to talk about him. Ryan Giggs, everyone! I can see the team, Edwin van der Sar in goal, wow! Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic in defence, Paul Scholes, wow, Michael Carrick. That team for me had a big impact on my teenage years.' Richard Madeley shut down on ITV GMB after heated clash with Rebecca Loos
The Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins contestant told the ITV Good Morning Britain host she didn't 'need to talk about this' Rebecca Loos shut down Richard Madeley on Good Morning Britain on Monday as the pair got into a heated clash. Madeley made his return t o the ITV daily news show in the recent instalment after a summer break, and had the Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins contestant on as one of his first ports of call to discuss her appearance on the current run of the hit Channel 4 show. Loos is taking part after finding herself in the spotlight again following David Beckham's 2023 Netflix documentary. The reality star, who now works as a yoga teacher in Norway, was back in the public eye after first coming to attention in 2004 when she claimed she had an affair with the former Manchester United ace, which the footballer has always denied. Rebecca, 47, addressed her stint in the Celeb SAS interrogation room on the show, as she said: "It was a little bit disappointing that there was so much focus on [David Beckham] in the interrogation room, because I really did think that going in there was an opportunity for them to get to know me. "That was a very small part of my life. It is what it is." Richard, who was hosting today with Kate Garraway, as reports the Mirror, then said: "Do you blame him? He was a married man with children, do you blame him?" He then promised: "This is the last question about David Beckham." Rebecca, becoming visibly tired of the line of questioning, replied: 'I think we should just focus on SAS.' An undeterred Richard responded: 'But that's the last question. Do you blame him?" But mum-of-two Rebecca was having none of it as she then said: 'I want to talk about SAS, sorry Richard... We don't need to talk about this, this morning, we're here for SAS." She then went on to open up about her motivation for signing up for the notoriously challenging programme, which sees celebrities put through their paces in tough environments in a two-week long training regime that replicates the UK Special Forces selection course. "I liked the fact that you are pushed to your limits, and I thought it would be interesting to get to know myself a little bit better," she said. "When I did the show, I was 46 going on 47, now I'm 48. Going through a lot of changes, as women do at my age, so they really did hold the mirror up." This year's lineup features 14 famous faces including Love Island stars Chloe Burrows, Tasha Ghouri and Adam Collard, X-Factor singer Lucy Spraggan and ex-drug mule Michaella McCollum, among others. The group is pushed to their limits by instructors Mark 'Billy' Billingham, Jason 'Foxy' Fox, Rudy Reyes and Chris Oliver. Pop star Hannah Spearritt, 44, best known for her time in S Club 7 had also been part of the cast, but threw in the towel during the first episode, as did Louis Spence, best known for his appearance on Pineapple Dance Studio
