Man arrested, RM17.8 million drugs seized in Kuala Lumpur raid
Director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed the seizure as one of the largest this year. A search of the terrace house uncovered 224 packets of syabu weighing 234kg and 200 plastic packets of ketamine weighing 205.7kg. The total drug value was estimated at RM17.78 million.
'The 30-year-old suspect acted as a coordinator and transporter for the syndicate, earning RM6,500 to RM7,000 monthly,' Hussein said during a press conference at Kuala Lumpur police headquarters. Preliminary investigations revealed the rented house served as a storage facility before local distribution.
'All drugs were smuggled via land routes from a neighbouring country. The suspect received instructions to deliver them on demand,' he added. The man, with a prior weapons-related offence, tested negative for drug use. He has been remanded for six days under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Police also seized two cars, three wristwatches, and jewellery worth RM93,350, bringing total confiscations to RM17.9 million.
In a separate case, four individuals, including three Vietnamese nationals, were arrested in Taman Kuchai Entrepreneurs for distributing cannabis. Authorities found 42.3kg of cannabis flower in 91 plastic packets during the raid.
'The syndicate used the apartment as a storage site before local and international distribution,' Hussein said. The suspects, aged 26 to 30, were remanded for seven days under the same act. - Bernama

Jailed seven times, repossessor caught again in drug operation
SHAH ALAM: Despite having been jailed seven times for various crimes, including drug offences, a 37-year-old motorcycle repossessor showed no signs of remorse after being caught again during a joint operation along the Shah Alam Expressway (Kesas) last night. He was one of three individuals detained by the National Anti-Drug Agency (Nada) after testing positive for methamphetamine during the Selangor Road Transport Department's (RTD) 'Op Pengarah' operation. The man had only been released from Kajang prison in March this year after serving time for drug use. "At the time I was arrested, I was with a friend heading to Batu 3, Shah Alam, to repossess a motorcycle with outstanding payments," he said. "I've been using syabu for the past two years and was sentenced to four months under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. "I've been in prison seven times, including for robbery and criminal intimidation," he revealed, while in handcuffs under the custody of Nada personnel. The man also admitted that he had never undergone rehabilitation at any Nada centre. His friend, a 34-year-old lorry driver from Inanam, Sabah, also tested positive for the same drug. He claimed to have started using syabu at the age of 13 and could now obtain it for as little as RM20. "I also work part-time in motorcycle repossession. I return to my village once a year to see my wife and two children. "Of course, I want to change, but I haven't found the way yet," he said.

Seven foreigners arrested over Klang murder case in Malaysia
SHAH ALAM: Police have arrested seven foreigners in connection with the murder of a man in Bandar Sentosa, Klang. The suspects, aged between 20 and 34, were detained following a report lodged by a foreign woman on July 23. South Klang district deputy police chief Supt Kamalariffin Aman Shah confirmed the arrests. The murder reportedly took place at a shophouse in Lorong Laksamana 20, Bandar Sentosa. The victim, a 28-year-old foreign man, was allegedly stabbed in the body and neck by his housemate. Investigations revealed that a dispute during a drinking session led to the fatal stabbing. Six other foreigners at the scene attempted to dispose of the body by burying it at a garbage disposal site. Police later recovered the victim's body along with the suspected murder weapon. The investigation papers have been submitted to the deputy public prosecutor. All suspects will be charged in the Klang Court today. The main suspect, a 34-year-old man, faces a murder charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code. Four other male suspects will be charged under Section 201 for concealing the body. All suspects will also face charges under the Immigration Act for lacking valid travel documents. - Bernama
