Mason James, a 2026 WR with a Notre Dame offer, committed to the Washington Huskies
There have been a few misses for Notre Dame football in the 2026 recruiting cycle, and another one happened on Thursday.
Mason James, a 5-foot, 11-inch and 175-pound wide receiver who Notre Dame offered in February, decided that the Washington Huskies is who he will start his collegiate career with. While the Irish did offer him, it didn't seem to move the needle much, as he never set an official visit to see South Bend.
The Huskies are getting one of the nation's best receiver prospects, as the 247Sports Composite Rankings has James as the No. 230 overall prospect, No. 36 at his position. Fortunately for Notre Dame, they already have two similar committed players in Dylan Faison and Bubba Frazier, all three of them most likely playing the slot.
Now, the Irish await the decision of Kaydon Finley, who will commit on July 4th, Brayden Robinson who has a July 20th commitment date and Devin Fitzgerald who will verbal on July 5th.

Notre Dame DE Jordan Botelho has suffered a pec injury that will keep him out 4 months
Notre Dame DE Jordan Botelho has suffered a pec injury that will keep him out 4 months It hasn't been a great calendar year for Notre Dame football defensive end Jordan Botelho, and unfortunately the injury bug has hit him once again as reported by Matt Freeman. Last fall against Purdue, the senior injured his right knee, and he was lost for the remainder of the season. While Botelho announced that he had unfinished business in South Bend and prepared for his return, but another bump in the road happened recently. The report says that he has injured his pectoral muscle and will be out for at least four months. It's a big blow for Botelho and the Irish defensive line, as they lost more than a few talented players at the position. However, the cupboard isn't bare, as Notre Dame has multiple players who could breakout this fall including Boubacar Traore, Loghan Thomas, and Bryce Young. Botelho's injury will allow some of the younger players to get valuable reps as the Irish look for the best combination to attack opposing offenses.

PFF predicts Notre Dame will have a 1st-round NFL draft pick, CB Leonard Moore, in 2027
PFF predicts Notre Dame will have a 1st-round NFL draft pick, CB Leonard Moore, in 2027 Why the 2027 NFL Draft is shaping up to be GENERATIONAL👀 ✍️ @CFBMaxChadwickhttps:// — PFF College (@PFF_College) June 13, 2025 It is still about two years away from the 2027 NFL draft, but that didn't stop Pro Football Focus from looking into the future, and not surprisingly had one Notre Dame player near the top of its board in what they are calling a 'generational draft.' Cornerback Leonard Moore burst onto the scene his freshman year, earning multiple awards and some outlets naming him a Freshman All-American. The huge first-year has vaulted him into the national spotlight, as PFF has already named him as the top player at his position, as just eight true sophomores have ever been named to that list. As for the draft, Moore is already viewed as a potential early pick, as Max Chadwick named Moore as one of his top players in what he sees as a class that could be 'historic.' He mentions that the Irish corner during his freshman year was 'the third-most-valuable corner in college football' according to their metrics. Chadwick called Moore a 'smooth athlete … who mirrors receivers at an elite level already.' There is considerable hype surrounding Moore as he enters year No. 2 in South Bend, and he could be the next Notre Dame corner to leave early and get drafted high into the NFL.

Why LeBron James wouldn't let family go to most NBA Finals games
LeBron James said he never allowed his family to attend his games while playing in 10 NBA Finals unless it was a closeout situation. During the latest installment of his 'Mind the Game' podcast, the Lakers star, who won four NBA titles in 22 seasons, explained that his wife, Savannah, and their three kids, Bronny, Bryce and Zhuri, stayed away from the arena because he didn't want to change his routine. 'For me personally, I never let my family come to a Finals game unless it was a closeout game,' James told co-host Steve Nash. 'If we were up 3-1, or if it was 3-3 or like Game 7 in the 2016 Finals, my family didn't come until Game 7. It was just, I didn't want to change anything. 'Obviously, if we had an opportunity to close out that final game… the family would be there. But other than that, I kept them home. Especially on the road, I didn't want my family on the road during the Finals, and I'm trying to focus on not only myself, but carrying my team, making sure my teammates are locked in. 'And then if something happened in the stands with my family, it could very easily knock me out of my lockdown zone. Now, I can't be as locked in as I want to because some idiot said something to my wife or my kids or my mom. Unless it was the closeout game, my family stayed home. And that's how I always kept it and it worked for me and a couple of my Finals wins.' 5 LeBron James said he never allowed his family to attend his games while playing in 10 NBA Finals, unless it was a closeout game during the latest installment of his 'Mind the Game' podcast.
