Spiritual speaker Aniruddhacharya, aka Pookie Baba's recent remarks implying that women who are unmarried at 25 or older are promiscuous, has led to widespread outrage. The Mathura-based religious speaker made the sexist remark during a religious event at Vrindavan's Gauri Gopal Ashram.
In a video, that is going viral on social media ever since, Anirudhacharya can be heard saying, 'Ab ladki late hai 25 saal ki. Ab 25 saal ki ladki chaar jagah mu maar chuki hoti hai. Sab nahi par bahut. Aur wo 25 saal ki jab aati hai toh puri jawan hoke aati hai. Jab jawan hoke aayegi toh swabhavik hai ki uski jawani kahi fisal jaegi." (Now girls are marrying at the age of 25. By then, many, not all, have been in relationships with multiple men.
By the time a woman is 25, she is fully grown. It is only natural that by then, her youth has slipped away somewhere).

The women lawyers protested against the sexist remarks and demanded stern action against him. "Such derogatory and sexist remarks are not expected from a religious personality... it shows his rotten mentality,'' they said during the protest.
Khushboo Patani, a former Indian Army officer and sister of Bollywood actress Disha Patani, slammed Aniruddhacharya's remarks. In a video shared on social media, she questioned the double standards in Aniruddhacharya's speech, adding that a live-in relationship involves two consenting adults, and yet, the criticism is made only against the women.
She also called out the spiritual orator for the sexist remarks.

Following the outrage, Aniruddhacharya posted a video on social media saying he only meant 'some women, not all'. He also added that the keywords from his speech were edited out before the video went viral, 'so as to create a false narrative'.
In a video shared on Instagram on Saturday, he said, 'Radhe Radhe. Aap logon ke dwara humein soochna mili ki kuch behnein naraaz hain is baat ko lekar, kyunki unhone aadhi adhoori video suni.
Us video mein kaha gaya ki aaj kal 25 saal ki ladki... dekhiye baat yahaan ja rahi thi ki kuch ladkiyaan aisi hoti hain jo live-in mein rehkar chaar jagah mooh maar chuki hoti hain. Aur jab woh kisi ghar ki bahu banengi, toh kya woh rishte ko nibha payengi? Isliye, ladka ho ya ladki, dono ko pehle charitrawaan hona chahiye.
Yeh baat kuch ladkiyon ke liye thi, sab ke liye nahi."
("Radhe Radhe. I have been informed by some of you that a few sisters are upset because they listened to an incomplete video.
In that video, it was said that nowadays, a 25-year-old girl... Look, the point being made was that some girls are such that they have been in live-in relationships and are involved with multiple men. And when such a girl becomes the daughter-in-law of a household, will she be able to maintain that relationship? That's why, whether it's a boy or a girl, both should be of good character first.
This statement was meant for some girls, not all.")

Modi dedicates Operation Sindoor success to Lord Mahadev

1 2 Varanasi: Invoking Lord Shiv's 'Rudra roop' (fierce form) to describe India's resolute action against terrorism, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday dedicated the success of Operation Sindoor to Lord Vishwanath and said it showcased the country's strength to the world and delivered a clear message that anyone who dares attack India will not be spared, not even in 'Pataal Lok'. Opening his address with chants of "Om Namah Parvati Pataye, Har Har Mahadev", the PM recalled the pain of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack . "My heart was filled with sorrow for the 26 people who lost their lives in the Pahalgam terror attack," Modi said during his 51st visit to his Lok Sabha constituency. "My promise to avenge 'Sindoor' of our daughters was fulfilled with the blessings of Mahadev... I dedicate the success of the operation to the feet of Mahadev," the PM said. Addressing a public meeting in the Kalikadham area, Modi said, "The valour of Indian defence forces and blessings of Lord Vishwanath, who signifies 'welfare', but embodies the fierce form of Rudra and Kaal Bhairav when confronted with terror and injustice, made it possible to fulfil his promise to avenge the Sindoor of the daughters." The PM said the success of Operation Sindoor could not be digested by Congress and its 'chela-chapatas' (followers and alliance partners), and they are troubled that India destroyed terrorist bases in Pakistan. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Krasnaya Shemonaikha: Unsold Furniture Liquidation 2024 (Prices May Surprise You) Unsold Furniture | Search Ads Learn More Undo "When the visuals showed how Indian drones precisely targeted and reduced terrorist headquarters to ruins, apart from destroying Pakistani air bases, like Pakistan — the mastermind of terrorism — the Congress and SP also started mourning. " Questioning whether Sindoor — the symbol of dignity and sacrifice — could ever be considered a spectacle, Modi said these opposition parties insulted the valour of the defence forces by terming Operation Sindoor a 'tamasha'. He asked whether the bravery of the armed forces and the fulfilment of a vow to avenge the sindoor of sisters could be trivialised in such a manner. Without taking any name, the PM said that for his vote-bank and appeasement politics, the leader of SP, who kept giving clean chits to terrorists and withdrew cases against those involved in bomb blasts during his regime in UP, questioned the timing of the elimination of the accused of the Pahalgam massacre in Parliament. Modi asked, "Whether the opposition leader wanted that he should be given a call before initiating this action or wait to enable terrorists to escape. " These parties are troubled by the elimination of terrorists and the name of Operation Sindoor, he said, adding that, "This is a new India — one that worships Lord Shiv and also knows how to embody the form of Kaal Bhairav against the country's enemies." Made-in-UP missiles to destroy Pak if it indulges in any misadventure: PM Mentioning how the world witnessed the power of India's indigenous weaponry and the effectiveness of India's air defence systems, missiles, and drones during Operation Sindoor, PM Modi said that the impact of BrahMos missiles not only instilled fear in the enemy but also demonstrated the progress being made under 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'. Modi said, "Soon, production of BrahMos missiles will begin in Lucknow... Major companies setting up their plants in the defence corridor of UP and starting to manufacture weapons will further strengthen our forces. If Pakistan commits another misdeed, missiles made in UP will destroy its terrorists." "With many major defence firms setting up their manufacturing plants in the UP defence corridor, made in India weapons will soon become the strength of our forces," he said. Amid Trump tariff threat, PM pledges to protect farmers, MSMEs & youth

1 2 Varanasi: Amid the tariff stalemate with the USA, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday sent a strong message to the world that protecting India's economic interest was paramount. Speaking in his parliamentary constituency on Saturday, the PM emphasised that the "top priority of the government remains the welfare of farmers, small industries and employment for youth." He reaffirmed the resilience of the Indian economy, saying that the country must remain vigilant about its economic interests and adopt 'swadeshi' products. "There is an atmosphere of global instability. All countries are focusing on their individual interests. India is going to become the third biggest economy in the world and this is why India will have to stay alert as far as its economic interests are concerned," the PM said, two days after UP President Donald Trump called India a 'dead economy'. CM Yogi Adityanath and two deputy CMs, Keshav Maurya and Brajesh Pathak were present on the occasion. Addressing a public gathering at Kalikadham in Sevapuri after transferring Rs 20,500 crore directly into the bank accounts of over 9.70 crore farmers as the 20th installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme and inaugurating and laying the foundation of 52 projects worth around Rs 2,200 crore, the PM urged people to go 'Vocal for Local'. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like How to Trade ETH/USD Without Holding Ether IC Markets Learn More Undo "Anyone who wishes good for the country and wants to see India become the third-largest economy must encourage this spirit of going local," he said. The PM urged traders to promote 'swadeshi' products, terming it a true national service, and appealed to citizens to use Indian-made goods during the upcoming festivals and wedding seasons. He also advised people to hold weddings in India instead of abroad, highlighting that many young people were already doing so. "Every choice we make in favour of 'Swadeshi' will shape the future of the country. With everyone's effort, the dream of a developed India will come true. From now on, let's pledge to buy and decorate our homes with only Indian-made products," he added. Modi highlighted his government's farmer-centric policies, stating that unlike previous governments, the BJP administration has fulfilled its promises to farmers, citing the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi as a prime example. "When this scheme was launched, opposition parties like the Samajwadi Party and Congress left no stone unturned to mislead farmers by claiming that after the 2019 Lok Sabha election, it would be stopped and even the money transferred into the accounts of farmers would be taken back. However, Rs 3.75 lakh crore has been transferred directly to farmers' accounts so far," he said. In UP alone, 2.5 crore farmers have received over Rs 90,000 crore, while farmers from Kashi got Rs 900 crore, he added. Referring to the transparency maintained in the schemes of his govt, Modi said, "There are no cuts, commissions, or middlemen. We created a permanent system where there's no leakage and no one can steal the rights of the poor." Prime Minister Modi emphasized developing the most backward regions with his mantra of 'High priority to more backward'. He highlighted the newly approved PM Dhan Dhanya Agriculture Scheme, focusing on underdeveloped districts with low crop production and income. He said the govt will invest Rs 24,000 crore in this scheme to support farmers from 'lab to field' and 'seed to market' for their products. Massive investments are being made in irrigation, and under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana, over Rs 1.75 lakh crore in claims were already paid out to farmers. Modi also mentioned a record increase in the MSP for farmers. Emphasising the govt's focus on boosting women's participation in agriculture through initiatives like Lakhpati Didi and Drone Didi, he stated that the aim is to empower 3 crore rural women financially, with over 1.5 crore already becoming Lakhpati Didis. Taking a subtle dig at the opposition, the PM said: "Hearing these numbers, SP leaders might just hop on their cycles and run away. " Despite agriculture being a state subject, the Centre has taken proactive steps to enhance farmers' income and living standards by implementing beneficial schemes, PM Modi said. He praised banks for launching a mega campaign and holding fairs in villages across the country for KYC renewal of the account holders under the Jan-Dhan scheme on the completion of its 10 years of launching. Modi also marked the distribution of assistive devices under the Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana to 2,000 Divyangs by handing over devices, including low vision glasses to Babli Kumari (visually impaired student), sports wheelchairs to Santosh Kumar Pandey and Vikas Kumar Patel, hearing aids to Kishun, and a motorized tricycle to Sita Kumari Pal (teacher). Union agriculture minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan joined the event virtually from Patna. Get the latest lifestyle updates on Times of India, along with Friendship Day wishes , messages and quotes !
